You know how some books make you feel like coming home? Or like a cold night, cuddled in front of the fireplace with your favorite blanket, book, and cup of tea? It's that amazing comforting feeling. That is what Kahlen Aymes does with her words and her amazing books. She writes the most beautiful, heartfelt love stories. I have missed this feeling!

I have not read the previous 3 books in the Trading Yesterday Series, so this is an interconnected standalone, in my opinion. Kahlen did a great job with connecting the dots that I had missed by not reading the other books. I will definitely go back and read them, though, because I love this family so much!

Remi and Dylan were meant to be from the start and they were beyond precious. I got especially frustrated with Remi at times, but I had to remind myself of what all she had been through and how young she was. Dylan was perfect from beginning to end!

I loved their big, happy family. I would love to have so many loving family members close to me. They are so blessed to have that. They truly do have such a spectacular life!

That epilogue was pure perfection and it deserves a round of applause 👏🏻 👏🏻👏🏻 Kahlen, you did such a fantastic job of giving them their happily ever after!

On a side note, I am from East TN and grew up going to Dollywood. I lived in Sevier County for 19 years. I loved reading about their vacation to the Smokies and going to Dollywood! I wish I could have told Dylan and Remi to get some cinnamon bread for breakfast. I guess the funnel cake will have to do, lol. I also loved the Knoxville references, 1-40 going through the mountains. It was fun reading about their adventures and it was something I could relate to.

If you want that classic romance with a tender all-consuming love, this is the book for you.

Stars- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice- 🌶🌶🌶

*I was kindly provided an ARC. This review is my honest opinion*

Oh my God, what an opening! My chest tightened in that prologue. I felt everything Remi did!!

They've been best friends since they were kids, they both made plans to attend the same college and it doesn't quite work out like they planned so Remi decides to transfer schools after freshman year. They catch up after college and you can tell right away they're close and that the years spent apart haven't changed how they are with each other. You can tell they both feel something.

Kahlen has written Remi and Dylan so beautifully. They have such a unique connection and you feel every one of their emotions, you can tell what they really mean to each other. There are obstacles in the way for them in the beginning but Dylan is determined to make things work. They've finally confessed their feelings now and nothing else matters.

Jumping to conclusions and assuming the worst doesn't get anyone anything, except for heartbreak and loss. You are torn here and the way Kahlen wrote these particular scenes was so angst-ridden I was praying that it would be worked out. They are both too stubborn for their own good, both driven and have things to achieve.

As Remi focuses on school and her volunteer work, she becomes attached to a little girl whose sick. She relates and wants to do everything she can for her. It's a heart wrenching story and you do empathise with Remi, though I can't help but wonder what would happen every time another child arrived in a similar situation.

Remi and Dylan are as close as they can be and are workinhard at making what they have work. Both having such rigorous schedules it can get tough. This shows what you can do if you're serious and are as in love as what Dylan and Remi are.

Everyone needs a damsel and a prince and when you find yours at 6 it will stay with you forever. I. have been waiting for this book for a long time. I have followed Remy and Dylan from the very beginning. This book was everything that I hoped for but it was also so much more than I expected. The ups and downs the twist and turns had you on the edge of your seat and not wanting to put it down so you could find out what happens next. Kahlen put so much emotion into this story that it will have your heartbreaking right along with Remy and Dylan and then put it back together with a huge smile on your face. This is a must read for 2023 and if you haven’t read the beginning of their stories you really must check them out. 5 stars is not enough for this book

"Forever & Always" by Kahlen Aymes

**Spoiler Alert**

Dylan is hurt and can't understand how she could just up and leave... How can he go on without her? She was meant to always be there.

Remi has loved Dylan for as long as she can remember, but seeing the woman hang all over him has become too much. He seems to have forgotten all about her, so why should she stay? He has copious amounts of girlfriends, so it's time she learns to go on with her life without him.

A year goes by, and it's his final game. Will he be excited to see her as she is to see him?

The time has come, and there is excitement all around her. He must be here, and seeing who he is with stings a lot more than she thought. What was she expecting?

Eyes meet, and it's as if time stands still. It's just Remi and Dylan, and as though time has never passed between them, their embrace says it all. The love is real. They share a bond and one that can never be broken.

A miss understanding brings it all to an end. A life they both want has once again been ended. Will it ever happen?

A little girl who's life has been turned upside down brings their carefully erect walls crumbling down.

This story had me crying and laughing all at once. I cried for their loss, and I laughed at their sass and antics.

Kahlen did not disappoint. This story was so beautifully written with all the feels. #sadness #unconditionallove #forgiveness #compassion and so much more. There is so much story to read.

Forever and Always is the 4th books in the Trading Yesterday series.

You could read this as a stand-alone, however to fully enjoy the story I would recommend starting with Trading Yesterday and working through the series.

Remi and Dylan have been best friends forever, they have a very unique family dynamic and whilst not related by blood they are as close as any blood relation could be.

Both have been hiding their true feelings, neither wanting to be open for fear of rejection and destroying their friendship.

However destroying it is what happens anyway.

This one is big on the angst, if you’ve read Kahlen before you know this is her specialty!

This one covers falling in love, heartbreak, trust issues and reconciliation, with the emotional turmoil of Childhood leukaemia.

It was good to get Dylan and Remi’s story and also to be able to catch up with past characters.

If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would. It was beautifully written. The story of childhood friends Remi and Dylan is told beautifully. It starts with them at college and then grad school. It takes you back to the past at times, but moves at such a good pace. I love Remi's strength, vulnerability but focus on her goals. Her stand early on had me cheering for her. Dylan stayed true to his character all through the book, and when lead males normally get into relationships they often become sappy simps, but not here, he continued to be Dylan. The highs and the lows were managed so well, they remained true to their characters, and the way they let their story unfold felt so natural. There is a inevitability about the book without being predictable. I will be reading so many books by this author.

Dylan and Remi’s story is finally here. I was lucky to read the ARC and it’s so good. Reading the Trading yesterday series isn’t a must but there are references that’ll make more sense if you do. Their love story is so sweet, I’m disappointed it took so long for Dylan to realize, act on his feelings for Remi. I laughed, cried and was frustrated with them both, so stubborn. I only gave it 4 stars because I thought the ending was a little lacking, I wanted more details and maybe more into the future.

This book was absolutely AMAZING! I loved Remi in Trading Yesterday when she was just a little girl, and I loved her in this book when she was on her twenties. She will always be Dylan’s damsel and he’s forever and always going to be her knight n shining armor. If you haven’t read Trading Yesterday or Finding Tomorrow I suggest you do so you get to meet Dylan in Remi when they are younger and get a better back story on them. You will definitely fall in love with them like I did! Kahlen has a way of making the characters seem so real!

The Damsel & her Knight

Having read and absolutely loved the previous books in this series, I have desperately waited for FOREVER & ALWAYS. Kahlen Aymes has written an exquisite story, from the Prologue to the Epilogue every word touched my soul. It made me laugh, ugly cry, sigh, and swoon. It is heavy on emotion and angst, it's heartbreaking and heartwarming, amusing, romantic, and thoroughly captivating.

Imagine you're six years old and you know you've just met the love of your life. This is exactly what happened to Remi Forrester when she was introduced to Dylan Ellington (now Jeffers) ... a damsel and her knight. A deep connection is formed and the two become best friends, inseparable, even planning their future together. Remi dreams of becoming a pediatric oncologist, while Dylan wants to be a professional football (soccer) player. Everything changes when they go to college, with Remi feeling invisible around Dylan, so she makes the decision to transfer colleges. A decision that will break two hearts and see them separated for three years.

Over the years neither Remi nor Dylan have expressed their true feelings for each other. It's not until the two decide to take a road trip together after Dylan's last college game, that the truth comes out. Nothing is easy though, obstacles are to be overcome, such as distance, obsessive exes, trust issues, and conflicted thoughts, before they can find the happiness they truly deserve. While Remi is going through everything with Dylan, a special little girl has come into her life and stolen her heart. OMG, I adored Rory, a little princess just like Remi was when she was younger. I loved how Kahlen wove her two storylines together with such love and compassion.

FOREVER & ALWAYS was the perfect conclusion to this heartwarming, emotional series. I fell in love with Remi and Dylan when they were young children, as adults I fell even further for them. They have grown into the strong, compassionate, and loving adults I hoped they would be. The angst throughout this story is deep, but if you have read Kahlen's books before then you'll know this is something she excels at. It was wonderful catching up with the families of Dylan and Remi, they are all so loving and supportive. The Prologue was everything I could have wished for, yes, I read it through blurred eyes.

*Even though this is considered to be a standalone, I highly recommend that the previous books in the series be read to have a greater understanding of the connection between Remi and Dylan.*

FOREVER & ALWAYS has become my favourite book by Kahlen, just as I knew it would.

Top Read for 2023

The grown-up Remi and Dylan are just as sweet as the younger versions of themselves.
It was really lovely to get back with the group, plus meeting all the other kiddos, I loved to see how Teagen, Chase, Jensey, Missy, Ben and Marin have grown too. They make an almighty lovely family group.

Was Dylan and Ass? Yes, yes he was
Was Remi in Denial? Again, Yes, yes she was.

To see the love of your life, carrying on with their life, as he thought they were in the friend zone must have been hard, and then to walk away! Must have been a tough pill to swallow! It must have taken a lot of thought; did she think it was the right thing to do? At the time Yes, I think she did.

How can you watch your future walk away from you but not do anything or actually realising the whole reason was you, then continuing to live your life because you didn’t quite know what to say or do.

When they reunited after a long gap, they were friends first but still didn’t act on anything; both being jealous and both not asking the right questions.

Their weekend, Oh my! it was lovely, I think their turning point! I love how theme parks seemed to play a big part of their lives.

Remi was a very straight forward girl, wishing on a star, that her prince will come through – I’m so glad that they re-aligned.

Then we meet Rory! Oh my! what a courageous little girl, not to mention a touch subject, even though we have been here before it’s still hard to grasp how you can’t even comprehend that life can be so resilient, but so fragile.

Remi and Dylan, even though so young themselves, handled Rory with such compassion. Remi’s big heart engulfed Rory and did everything she could to help her through her illness. Then Dylan coming on board and helped further.

They were such a lovely trio, and how beautiful that Rory’s maternal family came into all their lives, and all bonded so well.m

A truly heartfelt storyline, edged with a sexy friends to lovers trope. Unmissable !

Forever & Always by Kahlen Aymes is the 4th book in the Trading Yesterday series and is the final book in the series. This book tells the story of both Remi and Dylan, who we have met in earlier books and can be read as a stand-alone; however, I would recommend reading books 1-3 for context.

This is one story that those that have read the rest of the series have been waiting for. Dylan and Remi meet when they are 6 y/o and believe they fell in love with each other at that age, as they were inseparable. When they both decide to attend college together, Remi realizes that Dylan “the soccer star” has no time for her and decides to transfer to another college. Remi’s dream is to become an oncology physician, after her own experience with leukemia as a child.

There are quite a few misunderstandings and back and forth throughout the years; however, we do get our HEA and it is well worth the wait. Ms. Aymes is a champion for love stories and has you engrossed from page 1. This was a great end to the series and I look forward to her next release.

Forever & Always by Kahlen Aymes is the 4th and final book in the Trading Yesterday series. I have waited for what seems forever to finally read about Remi and Dylan – the damsel and her prince!

I have loved this series from the start – and Forever & Always was a perfect conclusion to this series. We have watched Remi and Dylan grow up together, their bond seemed inseparable, but sometimes life and ego’s get in the way.

These two – one page I was cheering from the rafters and the next I wanted to slap one of them upside the head. My emotions were pinging back and forth, up and down…. Seriously I was all over the place. Remi and Dylan were dealing with strong feelings (in the end they knew it was love) for each other, trust was a huge issue for them both, distance, and exes and communication!

Its just a good thing that fairy tales do come true!

Side note: I am still wondering why Derrick Ellington was even mentioned in this book. He did not really add to the story – except for a few paragraphs. Thought maybe he would have created a little drama amongst the family members – but that didn’t happen.

Beautiful end to an amazing series! This is book four in the Trading Yesterday series and a must read! I absolutely loved Remi & Dylan’s story! These two met as children and have been best friends growing up. College life as friends with Dylan isn’t what Remi thought it would be and she transfers schools. There are times when they are absent from each other’s lives but their connection keeps pulling them back together. When they finally admit their feelings for each other, more misunderstandings and circumstances keep them apart until they finally get their happily ever after. Kahlen writes so beautifully describing the connection between Remi and Dylan that you can feel the closeness of them. Rory is a new character that is introduced too that you will fall in love with! Rory’s story intertwined was so beautifully done too! Hoping maybe we see her story someday.

I love this author's novels. Every time I read a new novel from this author I always feel this novel is now my favorite, once again it happened and I think this novel is my favorite by this author. I loved this novel. From the very first chapter I was hooked and I frankly could not put the novel down until the very last page. I loved Remi and Dylan. Wow, their chemistry was so good! I loved that they had such a great history with each other. This novel kept me on the edge guessing and hoping what was coming next. I loved checking in with family(other characters from previous novels). I love when a novel takes me on a journey, almost brings me to tears and finally leaves me with a smile on my face. This novel checked all of my boxes. I did not want this novel to end. I can't wait to see what is coming next.

She’ll always be his damsel. The perfect conclusion to this series. I could not put this book down. So worth the wait. A story of love and forever that started when Dylan and Remi were 6 years old. Life may have gotten in the way of being together but through it all they always found their way back. A bond that is impossible to break. Even when they weren’t speaking and things went wrong the first person Remi called was Dylan and she was the first person he called. If not a phone call they were each others first thought. All it took was a text or phone call and they were there for each other. They were never far from each other, always in their thoughts and in their hearts.
The love they shared is what forevers are made of. It may have taken a while but they found their happily ever after with each other and are finally where they are supposed to be – together.

Oh my soul this book is wonderful, it is so heartwarming and loving. I loved the whole friends to lovers trope as well as the fact that it was a second chance too. I enjoyed the path Remi choose for her career. She’s so loving and caring and always made she to make people feel better and comfortable. Dylan’s character in the first chapter I was not sure I was gonna like him but he warmed up to me and did good in redeeming himself. This storyline is so sweet and touches your heart. I loved Remi for her compassion and her instant love and care towards Rory. Rory’s such an adorable little girl, who just melts your heart. The bond between Dylan and Remi is so special and I loved that they are definitely each other’s forever. This is the first book I’ve read by the author and I couldn’t put this book down.

This is the fourth book and conclusion to this incredible series. Dylan and Remi have been best friends and inseparable since childhood, with their lives planned out. Dylan wants to become a professional football player, and Remi wants to become a pediatric oncologist at St Jude’s hospital. When Remi changes schools, they separate for 3-years, and when they go on an impromptu road trip, their feeling come to the fore, but will they take a chance on each other? This is a beautifully written story which is an emotional roller coaster, with family, friendships, heartbreak, tragedy, humor, romance, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining and addictive page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

I’m such a sucker for a great friends to lovers romance with all the feels. Forever&Always was easily one of the best I’ve read in quite some time . Remi and Dylan have been the very best of friends since they were six years old . They planned their lives and their futures together . Attend the same college . Dylan would work towards his dream of becoming a professional soccer player and Remi a oncologist for young children. But things don’t always go as planned. Unfortunate circumstances separate these two and Remi’s heart is so so broken . .angst , witty banter , heartfelt and heartbreaking moments, pain , love , tragedy, miscommunication, , second chances, obstacles, family , friendships, drama , non stop action, awesome world building and so much more .

Kahlen can weave stories so well, you are hit from the first moment and sucked in. Dylan and Remi were seen throughout the previous books in the series, but this is their time! Though they fell in love when they were 6-year-olds, it took a whole lot of pain, misunderstandings, and mistakes to get a chance to see if the love lasted as adults. I really enjoyed this whole series because as I was reading each one, I became invested in the characters and may have yelled at them a time or two, lol. I am happy that this is the final book in the series because sometimes authors keep a series going on forever, but not moving anything forward, just rehashing and reusing same idea. You could read this as a standalone, but I recommend that you start with the first one and dive in!

When I found out that a book with Remi and Dylan was the last in the series, I literally nearly cried! 🥹

Throughout the series, we grew to love Remi and Dylan and we grew with them. From being 6 year old kids, we got an insight into their friendship, and we were able to jump on for the ride, as they grew up together! The best of friends, and as Remi said ‘I’m his damsel’ 🥹

In this book, they are all grown up. How did that happen? 🥺 I felt like an overprotective mother when they faced many challenges, but I had faith knowing it was all going to work out in the end.

I LOVED IT!!

I’m so thankful that I have been introduced to this author, and this series won’t be the last! I’m excited to read more.

What a wonderful ending to this amazing series from Kahlen Aymes. I fell in love with Dylan and his damsel, Remi, when they were children in Trading Yesterday, and Finding Tomorrow, but getting to watch them grow into adulthood in Forever and Always made me love them even more. In true Kahlen Aymes fashion, she had my stomach in knots and my heart beating out of my chest. The love, emotion and heartache were all amplified. But as much as it hurt, in the end, it is worth it all. If you read the Remembrance Trilogy, you will know exactly what the feelings I’m talking about are, because I had those feelings all over again with this book. This is a must read 5 stars!!

This was the perfect ending to this series. I loved getting to follow Dylan and Remis story through the years. The addition of new characters made the story just so much more. You think you are getting their story but it turns into so much more. I've spent years waiting on this one to come out and I can honestly say that it was worth the wait and did not disappoint. I finished in two days and was reading every spare minute that I had. The story is intriguing and moves at a great pace. I'm truly sad to that the series has ended but I can't wait to see what this author turns out next.

Forever and Always was worth the wait for a great ending to a great series. The journey for Dylan and Remi has been amazing watching them grow into young adults. They have had a strong friendship and have always been special to each other. It’s so exciting to see that their friendship has turned into such a beautiful love story. Kahlen Aymes is one of my favorite authors. Every book that she has written makes you feel as if you were a part of the journey. Every series that she has written are amazing. If you want a good love story you need to get hers.

Remi and Dylan have been friends and more at times since they were kids. Family members knew that they would eventually find their happily ever after but they took the long and bumpy road to get there. Remi knew since childhood she wanted to be a doctor specializing in childhood cancer. Dylan wanted to be a professional soccer player like Remi’s father together they were going to follow their dreams but that changed. Remi and Dylan had to learn the hard way that sometimes the path you take may change but your dream can stay the same. This was a sweet but emotional read with a lot of layers and a great love story. I loved The way Remi’s relationship with a patient named Rory helped her and Dylan. I loved What they all shared together. The characters in this book were stubborn, supportive and loyal to each other witch helped and hindered them at times. I truly enjoyed this book and I look forward to reading more books by this author.

It seems as if the novels that I am timid about starting are the very books that surprise me the most! Once I began turning the pages, the pull to keep going was an inexplicably strong addiction. Remi's tendency to seek self-preservation by retreating and fleeing situations resonated so strongly with me. Dylan at times made me want to shake him just a bit, but his sweetness and spontaneity won me over. The road was long and winding for these two characters, but I found their story to be so rewarding.

Omg we finally get Remi and Dylan's story, and it is so worth the wait! The characters' growth from being kids to now adults is amazing. Everyone damsel needs her prince. And seeing as how these two found theirs when they were 6 it was bound to be a bumpy ride! and seeing them finally FINALLY give into their feelings was absolutely adorable and heartfelt and has all the feels! True love is worth it all, and finally, these two risks their friendship to get their own happily ever after, and it was everything we needed! I loved their story and no spoilers but omg rory is just ahh! I'm so in love with this story. If you haven't read it already you need to. But start at the beginning. Because, you'll miss out on these two when they were children and that'd be a shame!
