Vaccine Illusion: How Vaccination Compromises Our Natural Immunity and What We Can Do to Regain Our Health

Rate this book

I'm sure she'll be quoted by the anti-vax idiots, but they should note that her book comes with the following disclaimer:
Disclaimer: The information in this book is not intended as medical advice. Readers assume sole responsibility for choosing for themselves and their children disease prevention options that are compatible with their convictions.
So this book is giving medical advice, but isn't intended as medical advice. Obviously anyone who has shelled out $9.99 for this is an idiot.

Here are 2 items that debunk this better than I could.

According to Atul Gawande in Better: A Surgeon's Notes on Performance, $0.75 is added to the cost of each dose of vaccine & put into a fund for the 1 in 10,000 that has an adverse reaction to a vaccine. No, they're not perfect, but they've helped a LOT.

The CDC has a lot of numbers on just how much along with numbers on what happens to those that aren't vaccinated. It hasn't been that long.
http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/vpd-vac/m...
Before the U.S. measles vaccination program started in 1963, about 3-4 million people in the U.S. got measles each year; 400-500 of them died, 48,000 were hospitalized, and 4,000 suffered encephalitis (brain swelling) due to measles. Widespread use of measles vaccine has led to a greater than 99% reduction in measles cases in the United States compared with the pre-vaccine era.

If the book is on my 'do-not-read' shelf then it was shoved under my nose or something about it made me think I might want to read it. I did some research & found that it was crap. I'll post why I think so & might even rate it with 1 star if it is really bad. If you disagree & want to discuss in the comments, you need to prove that it isn't with solid evidence. That means peer reviewed science, not anecdotes, opinions, or sites that are biased. Read the Debunking Handbook which is available for free here & follow its guidelines for providing proof. About time!

I would like to personally thank this author for stepping up to the plate and giving us all a real look at the inner workings of vaccination and the complications that arise from its overuse in today's world.
Being a paramedic for over ten years, I saw first hand many of the vaccine related injuries spoken of in this book (and some that were not), & I am sick of second & third year medical students in an ER telling families that "your child must have had some kind of response to a virus", when there is an absence of any other explanation for the child's condition on presentation at the ER except for it being post vaccination.
Doctors continue to see themselves as a high authority, yet to continue be taught only what pharmaceutical companies want them taught. For the sake of our kids and future generations, I hope this stops one day soon. Credible books like this one will help that cause.
So, thank you to the author, please continue to spread the word & I will continue to promote your great work!

From an immunologist's point of view, detailing the difference (and subsequent consequences) of wild (natural) immunity to viruses and diseases vs. manmade injections. Just one side of THE "argument" as of late, but such that should be kept in your arsenal of knowledge. It baffles me how those who question vaccines are ridiculed and told they are uneducated. Yet, there is science; doctors, modern medicine that question the vaccine schedule. This book gives you something to think about from an educated perspective.

The Historical Myths of Vaccination from an Immunologist’s Point of View

Warning: there is far more science, statistics, and vaccine history than a diehard pro-vaxxer will be able to handle in this recounting of how vaccines actually work opposed to how our immune systems are designed along with some fascinating vaccine historical facts. The book itself lacks a particular focus and reads more like a sampling of a variety of aspects pertaining to vaccines, immunity, and immunology along with Obukhanych’s own personal journey to enlightenment and a deeper dive into the subject matter due to personal concerns. It is however a short enough read, more like a lengthy article that can easily be polished off in a day and is a useful starting point to further research.

In this short, more than adequately referenced book on the breakdown of vaccination from an immunology stand, one can begin to dismantle many of the vaccine myths the public is fed every day throughout our public health system agencies, politicians and the poorly trained doctors who administer them.

Obukhanych also uncovers facts about the outright refusal to conduct adequate scientific studies and the sell-your-soul approach that so-called scientists in her field must take if they are to make a living. She offers some alternative treatments to priming the immune system and ensuring its health as well as provides reservoirs of research studies and papers and the links to back them up. There is simply no excuse whatsoever for vaccine ignorance in today’s day and age. Vaccine Illusion is a call to action to further reading on the subject of vaccination. It’s an education you will not get from your doctor or from mainstream media.

It ultimately comes down to this. How much is your life and the lives of your loved ones worth to you. Do you value human life at all? If so, then this is art of the required reading in order to protect yourself and your vulnerable family members against a system that most definitely does not have your best health or interests at heart.

BRB Rating: Read It and don't knock it till you do.

Immunology is not for everyone but if you wish to understand how the immune system works and what might throw things out of balance, Dr. Obukhanych is very knowledgable and explains in a clear and understandable fashion.

Finally a perspective by immunologist who is also a parent. It is short, to the point, easy to follow and supported by science. I like that she is not only questioning vaccination but also the immunology concept / 'dogma'; very few professional in their fields question their practices and she is one of them. She also explains how studies are selected and funded which is very interesting knowing how much influence pharmaceutical companies have on government, FDA and CDC... reading several books and studies on the subject and natural immunity i think this book is a very good starting point. as parents, we all can agree that we want the best for our children, making an informed decision about their health and specifically something so critical as vaccination is our authority and responsibility; responsibility to our child.

This book is an eye-opener. The author, an immunologist, explains that vaccines are not as effective as the general public has been led to believe and that they offer nothing more than a false sense of security. She also explores natural immunity and the need for more research on the effectiveness of vaccines. The book is short and to the point (117 pages) with short chapters.

Sittemmin nykyään lähes jokainen suomalainen saa jo ensimmäisenä elinvuotenaan moneen tusinaan sairauteen rokotteen, joista osa on erittäin harvinaisia kuten kurkkumätä ja jäykkäkouristus.

Kirjassa käytetään monia katastrofeja esimerkkeinä lähdeviitteineen, millaisiin onnettomuuksiin on ajauduttu erilaisin rokotekampanjoin.

Rokotetuilla ihmisillä immuniteetin serologinen testitulos olisi biologisesti merkityksetön, vaikka nykyään saa lukea, kuinka paljon vasta-aineita on elimistössä esim. koronavirusta vastaan jonkun saatua rokotteen.

There is abundant political science behind drug research and immunology is no exception. Faith (nothing but placebo) is playing a magic in favour of the established system. Ignorance is money. The book is a typical whistle-blower product. But the sound of whistle would be drowned in the cacophony of manipulated clinical trial outputs.

Ironically, if what she describes is correct, then vaccines are nowhere as dangerous as anti-vaxxers purport them to be, and especially not in the same way they do — they're not a panacea either, though I don't see many people of authority in the health sciences claiming them to be. It's a pity that a topic that should be as objective as objective gets had to become so politically charged that it gives me the chills just to consider posting a brief review that doesn't fit squarely in either extreme of the spectrum. Whether or not this book or the author are good places to start, it gave me an understanding of vaccines a bit more as one of the many tools and strategies to be used in concert in our publich health arsenal than an uncontroversial blanket solution. It seems like the coronavirus pandemic is a great example where we failed to imagine different solutions.

It's a short and easy read. It's a massive red pill about health matters. Anyone with an open mind should at least read it, before parroting the usual words that start with anti, and which the mainstream narrative brainwash us with on a daily basis. Questioning the author's qualification is irrelevant here, as she holds a phd in immunology. There are links to the NIH at the end of each chapter.

A book I recommend to all parents and future parents. It is easy to read, the scientific terms are explained simply and clearly.

This is a book that every parent should read before taking the decision to vaccinate (or not vaccinate) their child.

The title of this book gives an excellent indication of how much antivax nonsense the reader is in for (far from compromising natural immunity, vaccines enhance natural immune system function in protecting children and adults from a wide range of dangerous infectious diseases).

The author apparently started out with a good foundation in immunology, obtaining a PhD, then went completely off the rails on a witch hunt against vaccines, in the process espousing the debunked claim that vaccines cause autism and engaging in bizarre denial about the excellent record vaccines have had in vastly reducing or eliminating diseases such as polio.

From a check of the PubMed database of scientific publications, it appears Ms. Obukhanych has not published any actual research in many years. Her activities include lobbying legislators to vote against state laws tightening up non-medical exemptions while misleadingly hyping her qualifications, and reportedly selling access to teleconferenced lectures at $20/month. Antivaxers like to cite her as an expert, given her degree - never mind the fact that the overwhelming majority of immunologists with equal or better credentials (and who are actually employed by respected institutions) do not subscribe to her beliefs, instead advocating strongly for immunization.

In summary, this book is a compilation of typical antivax dreck, given a false aura of scientific respectability.

Great quick read, it was very enlightening to read about this topic from the perspective of an Immunologist. Given that doctors are incentivized to push vaccines, it is difficult to truly get an unbiased opinion from them. This book positions from a different perspective and despite being a very short book, provided excellent information and many links to studies to do more digging if one wishes.
