First off it was all about the cover for me, slightly unnerving, slightly creepy so of course I wanted to read it..Then throw in the synopsis and I was all in, straight away I was hooked, unquestionably unique, and it completely pulled me in, and definitely worth purchasing on Amazon. It's a quick little number which you'll inhale in no time at all.

Lucille Mahoney is time of freedom is nearly up, she's going to be paying for the sins her father enacted out and it's three dangerous men Crow, Hawk and Falcon that are out to seek their vengeance and she is their target. Their hatred for her runs thick in each men's veins and once she is in their grasp there is no telling what lengths they will go to.

A little bit dark, a little bit sick, a little bit 🔥 BUT admittedly I did think the heat factor could've gone up a few notches. Three over the top hot men and one female the heat should've scorched the pages right off my ipad. But all in all with this being the authors very first RH tale she did amazingly well. I'm just a pciky bitch when it comes to this genre as they are my kryptonite and ones I tend to gravitate towards.

Lucille Mahoney is being forced to pay for the sins of the father.

Crow, Falcon, and Hawk, a trio of vigilantes known as The Fallen have waited, watched, and bided their time. Although ready to exact their vengeance, an unexpected event complicates their plans.

The trauma Lucy endured left her raw and vulnerable, lonely and bereft. Her sorrow was palpable making it easy to identify with her. The Fallen were a little harder for me to connect to, however. While their pain and need for retribution was justified, their method was misguided, in my opinion. I would have liked to witness the turning point for the trio as well.

That said, Dani wrote the reverse härem steam I’ve been craving. My Kindle started smoking when I hit chapter 16. If this was her first go at RH, I can’t wait to see her next one!

2.5 stars!

This is the first book in the Twisted Legends Collection and can be read as a standalone. The Fallen (Falcon, Crow and Hawk) have been wronged and they're about to make the daughter of the man who ruined them pay. A plan years in the making is within their reach.

Lucille has spent a lot of her life running from herself and her father since she discovered how much of a monster he is. She knows the day he gets out of prison he will come for her and destroy her. She also knows there are others that would like to see her blood flow. Who will get to her first?

This is a hard one to rate. I love MM. I love MF. I like MFM. I don't care for MMF. I'm not sure if MMF is a new trend or if I just keep picking up the wrong books but I didn't like it in this story. These three alpha males are a tight knit grip and Lucille felt like a tag along in many ways. I like my RH's to not include MM action when they have a female. Sorry, not sorry.

This story is dark and a little gag inducing. I understood the need for Falcon, Crow and Hawk to go after the man that ruined their lives but kidnapping Lucille and then treating her the way they did was just cruel and unnecessary. I know things 'changed' but it just left me feeling uneasy. Some of the things that bothered me:

1. Whether they knew Lucille's true story or not, their actions weren't justified for a group that tries to live by protecting the innocent. Especially when they're supposed to be these powerful men with a lot at their disposal.

2. I did not believe their fall into love. Obsession? Lust? Plaything? Sure. There was no true passion or emotion in this story (except between the guys which was hot). Dirty and depraved? Definitely. Am I complaining? No. But I NEEDED to read how they got from point A to point B and it wasn't there.

3. Lucille needed some more character development. They all had horrific back stories but I was craving more. It was all about the Fallen's vengeance on Lucille's disgusting father but did anyone think to check on Lucille? Truly check on her? She was just as much of a victim and I felt like it was brushed over.

4. The ending was rushed and so was the epilogue. Overall, the whole story felt disjointed at times.

Did I like this story? Not particularly. But that's on me more than the author because I just have particular tastes. The writing is good and the story line is bold and quite traumatizing. It elicited a reaction from me even if it was a "wtf did I just read" reaction.

Dani René always surprise me with her stories!! And her first reverse harem is really good!!
The thing I loved the most was the bond between Crow, Falcon and Hawk, even before Lucille come in the picture.
These men love each other and they show it up with little things that melt my heart 😍😍
And then let's be honest?!
In a reverse harem having powerful and dangerous men who don't  focus ONLY on the girl is freaking hooott !! 🔥🔥🔥

For almost her whole life, Lucille ran away from her father's sins. But little does she knows, someone has keep an eye on her for the right moment to use her to make her father suffer.

Crow, Falcon and Hawk are mercenaries.
They are lethal. And they want Lucille to get their vengeance.... but they have no idea Lucille is a victim herself. They have no idea she hides a darkness that perfectly match with theirs...

Although the beginning was a bit confusing for me, this story is intriguing and addictive.
You can’t help yourself but keep reading to find out what happen next.
Everything moves a little too fast, and maybe some aspects of their relationship should have been investigated better, but Dani managed those four characters in an amazing way.
Plus she gave me a glimpse of Savage' brothers and I couldn't be any happier 🤩🤩🤩

Big props to Dani for knocking her first ever RH outta the park! I am a huge fan of this trope and this dark and delicious tale was something I needed in my life!
Throw in the enemies to lovers - 3 hot men seeking vengeance and it was a recipe for something good.

Crow, Hawk and Falcon vow to wreck havoc and seek vengeance on the man that brought utter devastation to their families. Nothing and no one will stand in their way of the justice that they desperately need. Their hatred runs thick and is the one thing keeping them going.
They are ruthless, cunning and should be feared. The Fallen is coming. Are you ready?

Soon their Goldilocks will be in their clutches and she will obey every command that they give her. Lucille was always meant to just be a means to a bloody end. Her tears, sobs and moans were only to help fill the dark void of revenge. What happens when the "why" gets blurry and it means more..

This book was HOT! Great storyline and characters that made me believe and feel all their heartbreak. I want more from these 4 though. I feel like their story isn't finished... that it's only just begun.

This is such a train wreck of a book. I don't know why I continued to read after 25% or so, probably because I wanted to see just how bad it could get. The answer was very. There are lots of continuity errors, events so far-fetched they lie somewhere beyond Jupiter, and an utter lack of connection between any of the characters. Other than their names (those stupid bird nicknames) there was nothing, not a single damn thing, to differentiate one from another. The author clearly hoped to write a dark book without actually having anyone other than the bad guy suffer. Note to author - it really didn't work, especially the ridiculousness of Missy and the twins' fates.

Our three "heroes" live in a small town where their nearest neighbours are 50 miles away. The very definition of a town (at least in England where I live AND where the book is nominally set) is that if your nearest neighbour lives over 50 miles away you aren't in a town. Said town was also close enough to London to snatch Lucille if necessary - if your closest neighbour is 50 miles away you are not very close to London... unless they were planning to use a helicopter to snatch her. I'm not sure if there is anywhere in England where your closest neighbour is 50 miles away. Potentially if you lived on an uninhabited island, and definitely possible if you live in Scotland or Wales - but these are not in England #justsaying.

The timeline is incredibly ropey, the plot has more holes in it than a string bag, the resolution lends a lot more to deus ex machina than is comfortable, and there is nothing that would suggest any of these lacklustre and fairly stupid characters have fallen in anything other than lust. The author used a lot of inner monologue and vagueness which I can only presume was to make the book dark. Instead, it made the story slow-paced, lacking in depth, and forgettable. Probably the only thing I will remember is how the book was riddled with continuity errors and contradictions. Certainly, it won't be our deadly assassins who were very easily tricked by the Bratva and could find anything out but never tried to find their missing siblings. It won't be Lucille, whose entire personality was that she liked rough sex. Actually I won't remember the book at all.

I tried ya'll. I tried so h a r d, but I'm 64% in and I don't feel a connection to any of the characters. I want to know what happened to Lucy, but we're over halfway through the book and nothing has really happened. The men still hate her (even tho they fuck her) and thats all it's been. There's just no emotion here.

***4,25 "Goldilocks!!!" stars***

A little liar, hidden in plain sight.
We know who you are and we're coming... soon.

Dani Rene said that this was her first RH, I will say 'Dani, RH suits you, girl!' and imagine that I am not very fond of RH, only a handful of them can actually do it for me!!!!
Yes, this was a reverse harem romance, but it was about so much more than this... It was a story about unbreakable ties, vengeance and lust...
I loved Lucille, but the three boys had stolen the show...
They were very tied and loyal to each other, and their Goldilocks came out of nowhere and everything changed for all four of them...

"If I were a hero, I would want to save her.
But I'm the villain in her story."

Lucille is running away from the past, a past that broke her...
With new identity in a new country, she is trying to outrun her nightmares, not always with success...
But in the darkness, there are three man, the Fallen, who are seeking revenge and they are binding their time to extract her on her....
The time has come for Lucille to be taken and to pay for her father's sin...

"I can never escape who I am.
I'm the monster's daughter."

I liked this story very much... It was complicated, it was mysterious, it was hot as hell...
Lucille had a darkness inside her, a darkness that not many could accept...
Crow, Falcon and Hawk were messed up... They had lost important pieces of them and that was something that they couldn't get over... Revenge was the only way to find some form of peace...
But what will happen when they will take Lucille away from her life and they realize that her darkness was matching theirs???
Can they complete their revenge plan or will they be consumed by her???
And what will happen when someone more evil is after them???

"As much as she probably wants to escape The Fallen, I'm almost certain she knows she never can."

Yes, I really enjoyed this story and honestly, I believe that this story is one of Dani's best job...
Yes, I was missing some more development in order to feel the story more completed, but I really loved Goldilocks and her boys...
They have lived an unbelievable adventure and I enjoyed witnessing it alongside them...
The twisted legends collection had definitely started with a bang!!! Can not wait for the rest of the stories!!!

"By the time we're done with her, she'll crave us. She'll beg us not to end her life. But the road to that day will be an uphill battle."

This is the first book in the Twisted Legends Collection, a Goldilocks reimagining, and can be read as a standalone.

It took me longer than it should have to get through this seemingly short story. I kept getting pulled out of the story by the dire need for editing. Now, I understand mistakes when it’s an ARC but this was a published work that was purchased.

teaser post

All that aside, I had been seriously looking forward to this collection of stories. I’m a huge fan of the authors that are taking part and they aren’t the cliché Disney/Grimm fairy tale reimaginings. We were getting urban legends with a RH spin and who doesn’t want a good why choose romance, right?!

Lucille is the daughter of a serial killer. She is the one person who will bring The Fallen a sense of peace, with her demise. They believe she was her fathers coconspirator. As such when he was sent to jail and she was left to the wild, The Fallen took it upon themselves to stalk her. Seeing as their loved ones were taken and violated as children, they couldn’t stomach doing the same. So they waited for Lucille to come of age and feel secure in her future. Then they pounced.

Stealing her away in the night, they had every intention of torturing, maiming, and outright destroying her in front of her father. They wanted him to feel the same pain they did. But after years of watching from afar, they realize that they’ve grown feeling for the woman with golden hair they affectionately call Goldilocks.

The darkness of Lucille’s past has molded her into a woman that craves the darker side of life. She actually scared off men with her sexual needs, all of them unwilling to go to the lengths she desires. Then she met them, The Fallen. I love how each man is different yet the same. Hawk likes to watch. Crow likes blood play. And Falcon is all about breath play. Each of these are things she’s craved. As is the need to be owned by her lovers. She wants rough, almost brutal poundings and let me tell you, all three of these men sure do deliver.

I wasn’t expecting the ‘three bears’ to be an item but once I figured out that all three men were bi I couldn’t wait for the fun to begin. The angst ran deep until 50% into the book but then the flood gates opened. And there are some fantastic times to be had. I ended up getting caught up in the shenanigans of the foursome more than the story.

I do wish the overall story had flowed better though. I wanted more details on the overall Bratva, Cartel, Triad connection. I would have enjoyed more details on the FBI/government agent that seemed to have a deeper, unexplained connection to Lucille. The ending was very rushed also. I love the things that were revealed but now I need books for all of that too. I am thankful that there is a note that says the Savage Brothers - Dante and Drake, can be found in an already published duet.

Overall not a horrible start to the collection but I’m still hesitant to see how they turn out. I really hope they are better than the Twisted Tales Collection that came out last winter.

I didn’t love this or hate it. Guess I’m floundering in the middle because some of the subject matter was outside my comfort zone. I knew to expect a dark book but I was unprepared for so much detail into trafficking and assault of children. I don’t think such detail was necessary for this book considering it was a standalone. Keep in mind also that all the books within the series are completely different and unique from one another. Having said all that this is not a book for those with triggers.

This one just wasn't for me. I usually am a fan of dark romances but I felt like this one had no reason to be as dark as it was. I was not expecting for it to go into so much detail about trafficking and assault of children. Definitely check trigger warnings before reading this one. I also didn't really care much about the relationship between Lucille and the guys. They treated her horribly and I just didn't understand why she would want anything to do with them after being treated like that. They also refused to believe that she could have been a victim of her dad too until the very end when they thought they loved her was when they realized she was a victim. I also just felt like their relationship was based more off of lust than love. Even though this book wasn't for me I do still want to give other books in this series a chance.

3.5 stars for this RH dark romance. Filled with horrific back stories for all the lead characters, we have a story which highlights the intense loneliness and isolation suffered by Lucille as she tries to navigate a life after the actions of her terrifying, vicious father. Hunting her are The Fallen of the title. They have each other, and they want her.
This was an intense read, but felt somewhat disjointed at times. There were a few, with a bound she was free, type moments which were somewhat jarring given the serious nature of the situation.
Overall I enjoyed this book, though I felt it needed tightening up. 💖💖💖💖

This is one heck of a ride, you want dark? This is DARK! The story is one that you will be a little uneasy reading it at times. I'm giving this a 4.7 for story and a 4 for spice!

If you're expecting spoilers you wont get that from me! You need to go into this BLIND!

Now that I got that out of the way, it was a really really good story! There are moments that will make you want to rage for some of the characters. Some how even though there is so much evil, you are shown why and how the evil was planted there in the first place.

The story was very easy to follow and I finished this in two days! The spice in this book is also well written and doesn't seem randomly inserted, which is important when the story line is so dark. This is the first book I have read of this author and I will checking out more!
I was given a copy of this to give my honest opinion.

It’s gonna be a no from me on this book. I legit SUFFERED through reading this book because I really kept hope alive that it would get better. The story seemed like it would be really good and it was just okayish? I didn’t really care about any of the characters? I honestly couldn’t even really be bothered to keep up which one of the guys was which? They treated her horribly and even pretty much called her a liar when she tried to explain that she was a victim of her father as well. I don’t get why she was meant to be payment for her fathers sins but they couldn’t not care what information she could bring to the fold. And the ending? Boooooooyyyyyyy, so many grammatical errors, so much “action” trying to happen. It was honestly just stupid drama. “Bring me my daughter. No? I think you will. Come to my trap. I’m selling her body to my old boss for a thank you for them saving me from prison” and then the twins and missy all of a sudden had been sold into trafficking and they had great life’s? Honestly, wtf. Like really, wtf. Also, I might be the only one, but in my RH I don’t like the ⚔️
I might give the other books in the series a chance? I’m still debating.

I wanted to like this. The plot sounded interesting but I found the story jumpy and confusing. At times I felt like I was missing something and that the plot suddenly took a drastic turn out of no where. One minute they want to torture and murder her and then after one night of sex they are buying her clothes, she’s living comfortably with them and they have decided she’s innocent and there is so much missing from one point to the next. Also at one point she’s horribly injured in a car accident and thinks she’s dying. Instead of taking her to a hospital for surgery they take her home and suddenly she’s perfectly fine. It was very confusing.

A enemies to lovers reverse harem book with kidnaping? Yes please give it to me.

Brief summary
The fallen, Crow, Falcon and Hawk, are killers and they have been trying to get a man for years. But they cannot do that as he is in prison so they settle on kidnapping his daughter, Lucille and making her do things for them. But … turns out that they all fall in love.

I have just read book that absolutely shattered my entire heart so to make myself feel better, I decided to reach for my comfort spot of a dark, enemies to lover, steamy romance and this one did not dissapoint, at all. This was everything I wanted it to be and I really enjoyed reading this one.

I just enjoyed so many things about this book, I enjoyed how possessive the guys were, they were so possessive of Lucille and I absolutely loved that. I loved how the guys kidnaped Lucille and how they made her do things for them, I thought that it really worked in the story and in their dynamic.

The steamy scenes in this book were just so good and I absolutely loved them. Those scenes just made the book for them, they were just very great.

I really liked how the enemies to lovers was done in this book and how they slowly started caring for each other over time while still wanted to dislike each other, that part of the book just really worked for me.

My one thing is just that I wanted this book to have a couple more scenes because I felt like I was missing some key information sometimes.

But, I really enjoyed reading this book and it was everything I needed at this time in my life.

I received an ARC of this one and this is my honest opinion

I am a huge fan of reverse harem and I really liked how the author portrays all of these characters. Let's just say that they did NOT get introduced through a meet-cute, there is a lot of hatred to our leading lady because of who her father is, even though also suffered at his hands. Their chemistry is off the charts and it is shown through all of the pages!

I am always a fan of a dark romances, and make it a reverse harem, even better! I liked the premise of the book, but would have liked a little more fleshing out in a few places. It was like BAM things just suddenly change and it was a little like whiplash. Other than that though, it was a great read with tons of steam and darkness that I oh so adore reading!

I absolutely adore dani Rene. Her work is always so amazing. The perfect mix of spice and depravity. This book was no different.

There’s so much I want to say, but I don’t want to give any spoilers. If you’re questioning whether to read this; just do it. Check out the TWs of course; because it’s definitely dark and features a variety of kinks.

This is reverse harem with m/m scenes. Which are hot as hell by the way. some of the more extreme triggers - mentions of sa, sec trafficking, abuse of a child and more.

The men in the harem are villains. So you won’t get a ton of sappy lovey dovey events here, but man, they’re fantastic in their own ways.

Read this book!!

Dani René brought the heat in this deliciously dark and spicy RH romance.

Lucille has seen the evil her father is and has run far to escape his sins. But not far enough, because there’s something dark and dangerous watching and waiting in the shadows for Lucille.

The Fallen have been waiting to extract vengeance and their Goldilocks is about to fall right into their grasp. They never expected to fall for their prey.

“𝓋𝑒𝓃𝑔𝑒𝒶𝓃𝒸𝑒 𝓌𝒾𝓁𝓁 𝒷𝑒 𝑜𝓊𝓇𝓈. 𝒯𝒽𝑒 𝒻𝒶𝓁𝓁𝑒𝓃 𝓈𝑒𝑒𝓀 𝓅𝒶𝓎𝓂𝑒𝓃𝓉....𝒲𝑒‘𝓇𝑒 𝓌𝒶𝓉𝒸𝒽𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝓎𝑜𝓊. 𝒲𝑒‘𝓁𝓁 𝒸𝑜𝓂𝑒 𝒻𝑜𝓇 𝓎𝑜𝓊. 𝒲𝒽𝑒𝓃 𝓎𝑜𝓊 𝓁𝑒𝒶𝓈𝓉 𝑒𝓍𝓅𝑒𝒸𝓉 𝒾𝓉, 𝓎𝑜𝓊 𝓌𝒾𝓁𝓁 𝒷𝑒 𝑜𝓊𝓇𝓈.“

I wasn’t expecting to love this story as much as I did. I loved the bond the guys had before Lucille joined them. The storyline was fantastic and I couldn’t help but be sucked into all the heartbreak.

Vengeance of the Fallen is the first release in the Twisted Legends Collection where a group of authors are taking urban myths and putting their own twisted and sexy spin on it 🥵

I’ve been dead excited for this collection and this book! I was very lucky to receive an ARC copy early. For fans of Reverse Harem like me 😌 this is perfect for you. The Fallen aka Crow, Falcon & Hawk are a team of seriously steamy, dark and brooding men all haunted by their demons, there’s one person responsible and they’re going to make her pay.

Lucille’s been on the run for years, hiding from her past, running from the choices she made. Unaware her every move is being watched. I love the dynamic between her and the Fallen, the way they fight the feelings between them all.

This is a MMMF Reverse Harem with MM, MMF and MF scenes. It’s seriously spicy and deliciously dark so please check TW.

Vengeance of The Fallen by Dani René is a sinful and steamy reverse harem romance with some beautiful antiheroes and an imperfectly perfect heroine. It has action, suspense, drama and sizzling hot passion.

Lucille thought she has escaped her evil father after her testimony sent him to jail for murder. But she is wrong. She has escaped to London and started a new life and she always looks around in fear of her father. So she didnt see the Fallen coming for her. Crow. Falcon. Hawk. All of their families have been hurt by her father and they will extract the revenge from her. Will their perspective change once they come to know that she is also a victim?

This is a classic enemies to lovers romance with lots of action. The Fallen is a group of dangerous men who kills people for huge money. They have their own skillset and they are lethal in every sense. They are unhinged and can be unpredictable and violent. They have no moral code. So Lucille has been thrown in a messy situation. But her goodness shines. These intense men slowly get under her spell. Her beauty. Her innocence. Her resilience. And her need for darkness that matches their own. They have filthy and deviant ways and Lucille craves it. It is wrong. It is insanity. But she cannot help but feel free from the nightmare called her old life for the first time. The men took away her choices but also gave her protection in a twisted way. It was supposed to be a game but they didnt want to play it at the end. These so called evil men killed her demons. My favorite is definitely Falcon. I am a goner for his witty and edgy vibes. He can destroy someone's life sitting at his computer while smiling like crazy and turn wicked at the blink of an eye. Crow and Hawk are more brooding and explosive. They fit like a puzzle and that brought a twisted happily ever after for them.

More like an outline vs a book

This book read like someone had a how to instructional on dark romances, as if someone just read points they needed to include instead of actually researching or even just being passionate about writing. There is so much missed opportunity here. This is definitely one where there should have either been more than one book or This book should have been substantially bigger.
There's no relationship building. No character building. The characters did a 180 almost instantaneously. And honestly, as a fan of dark romances, this didn't actually even fit that bill. She likes rough sex. That does not make a dark book. Neither does being the daughter of a serial whatever he was.
The plot holes and glaringly wtf are they thinking moments abound here. To be these supposed masterminds who meticulously plot out everything, they are disappointingly stupid.
I didn't enjoy it and I don't think I'm going to bother with anything else from this author, but plenty of people seem to enjoy thinly "plotted" erotica, which is more of what this was to me.

I wanted so hard to like this book. The premise seemed so promising. Unfortunately, the storyline seems rushed and there is a lack of chemistry between all of the main characters . I just can’t for the life of me understand how 3 men have spent most of their lives hating this girl to then capture her and sleep with her and all of a sudden they are in love! Where’s the real tension? Where is the character development to make us fall in love with these tortured characters?

There is none. The plot is rushed and the repetitiveness of “things” that happened in the past really gets boring.

This book was something and not in a good way. It jumped too much. The pacing was off. One minute she was scared and the very next day she was talking about the dark curls on the guy, that she loved so much. There was no connection between the characters. It didn't feel fluid. It was like a really bad train wreck but I couldn't look away. I'm glad it was a short book and I did actually finish it so that says something but I won't be reading anything else from this series.

Lacks detail

As much as I wanted to like this, I felt the book was more of a draft with many important details just hinted at and glossed over. There was no real relationship or character progression. To me the fmc was a broken doormat with no backbone and the three older MMCs were hypocritical vilgilantes

DNF. Proof that I’m a sucker for a sick cover. The start of the book jumps around a lot and you can’t tell what time period of the story you’re in. 5 years ago, present day living with mom, then bam she’s in London…whip lash. Also the reason the guys are obsessed with getting revenge is dumb….
