Chaque petit geste

Quand un geste de gentillesse en déclenche un autre, tout est possible! Une jeune femme cherche désespérément son chien autour de chez elle. Lorsqu’elle offre une pomme à un inconnu, son geste inspire un passant qui va, à son tour, poser un acte généreux, et ainsi de suite. Une vague de bonnes actions déferle alors sur le quartier, créant des liens entre les gens. Cet album sans texte invite le lecteur pour une balade au cœur d’un quartier bien vivant. Les saynètes mettent de l’avant différentes situations d’entraide et une galerie de personnages hétéroclites. L’histoire du chien perdu ajoute, quant à elle, un fil conducteur à l’ensemble et clôt le récit tout en émotions. Avec Chaque petit geste, Marta Bartolj convie chacun d’entre nous à rendre le monde meilleur!

This book proves that a picture needs no translation to get its message across. The message of how doing an act of kindness not only makes the person doing the action feel good but makes a difference in others lives too. I really enjoyed the art style too. It’s a simple color scheme and it works wonderfully.

Every little kindness é uma brevíssima história em imagens que evoca a corrente de pequenas boas ações e atos de bondade que mantêm o mundo relativamente intacto nos seus alicerces. Embora demasiado inocente e otimista (ou sou eu que sou demasiado cínica), a sua atmosfera é atrativa para miúdos e graúdos, e acaba por ilustrar de forma muito eficaz a vontade da autora em criar uma espécie de defesa da bondade intrínseca, uma amostra do efeito de ripple que as boas ações podem ter em redor de quem as pratica.
Quanto à sua escolha pelo traço singelo, pela ausência de perspectiva ou uso de cor monocromático (pontuado de contraste aqui e ali), entende-se tudo no contexto de um livro dedicado aos mais novos com quem quer estabelecer uma relação/leitura de igual para igual. Nesse aspecto, está muito bem pensado.

Chaque petit geste, c’est un album autant pour les enfants que les adultes.

C’est un livre dans lequel les mots sont absents. On construit l’histoire en se basant uniquement sur les illustrations.

Les gestes posés par les personnages sont bienveillants et ont tous un impact sur l’histoire.

C’est un livre qui nous rappelle l’importance que notre gentillesse peut avoir dans la vie de quelqu’un d’autre.

J’ai beaucoup aimé. ❤️

Et j’ai encore plus aimé lorsque je l’ai regardé avec ma fille. Nous avons pu construire l’histoire ensemble. Et surtout, parler de l’importance d’aider son prochain.

Une grosse dose de douceur à mettre dans ta pal.

Wordless picture book with a message of kindness. Bartolj’s mostly black and white art is detailed, dramatic and seamlessly weaves a tale of passing kindness forward with one small act at a time. The panels are enough to effectively convey the message but the artist adds just the right touches of red to emphasize those moments of thinking of others. Terrific choice for collections in elementary libraries, counselors’ offices and art classrooms. Thanks for providing me with this copy, Chronicle Kids.

Even when she’s sad, an act of kindness from a girl changes everyone’s day for good.
I love the simple story shown and lesson taught exclusively through pictures. Kindness needs no words, so Bartolj doesn’t use them.

This is such a sweet story about the ripple effect of kindnesses, starting with a woman who is looking for her lost dog and following through all the people that are affected. There are no words in the story, just pictures, but the storyline is really effectively conveyed. I loved how most of the book was in grey tones, but the kindness parts are in red, showing the connection and how the kindnesses pass through. Really lovely and heartwarming!

I don’t care if you’re 5 or 95. You need this book in your life. It tells the story of acts of kindness, as each person views an act and then passes it along, through gorgeous illustrations. We don’t always need words to speak to our hearts. Sometimes they are just an interference.

As someone who did once endure a missing pet, which is where this story begins and ends, I felt what it conveyed deeply. You never forget the person who brings your beloved pet back to you. It is a kindness that lights up your darkest spaces.

Voici l’exemple parfait du dicton « une image vaux mille mots », car cet album ne contient aucun texte! Les images parlent d’elles même !

Au fil des pages on voit l’effet de domino qu’est la vie en aidant son prochain. Une jeune fille cherche son chien disparu et offre une pomme à un jeune homme, partant une incroyable et émouvante chaine humaine où chaque petit geste compte. J’ai adoré l’utilisation de la couleur rouge pour mettre l’accent sur les petits gestes!

C’était tout simplement magnifique et je recommande fortement !

Been a while since I’ve read a picture book, unless I’m babysitting, but this one was actually adorable. The artist did so well capturing the story without using any words. And we are potently reminded of how importance it is to be kind. Definitely would say that anyone looking for a heartwarming little treat should read this!
