Tiene todos los tópicos del género, pero por alguna razón era el momento adecuado para este libro y lo disfruté muchísimo. Me encantaron la historia y los personajes, y lo encontré muy ameno.

The plot and characters didn't develop but it's always a hit or miss with Ms Mason on that front. I liked the steamy scenes but i wonder if they would've been even better with more emotional development.

Not one of the better ones by this author...,
I have read quite a few stories by this author and some I love, while....others not so much. This would fall into the category of the not so much. I usually don't like leaving critical reviews, but this one kind of left a sour taste in my mouth...and I wanted to try and leave a constructive review.
It had some really good points. The writing was fluid and the plot was interesting for the most part. Though it seems that of late I have read more and more stories about female highway robbers. What bothered me mostly was that there was so many silly eye rolling moments. The author made the heroine seem like she had a great backbone and would bow to no man. At first she was all "Don't touch me you Rogue!...I do not want you." But she very quickly changed her mind...she wanted the hero to help make her forget an unfortunate experience." I think that line is a little over used in romance novels. But what really got was how she said "No. Never again will I lay with you."...but the next second gave in to his charms...again and again and again. Her back and forth got a little old. Also the hero was not bad, but could he think of nothing but sex? I admittedly like my romances steamy, but I have read MANY another stories about Rogue's where there was much more depth to them than just sex.
It did get better towards the end and I liked when they involved the heroines brother. The secondary characters are enjoyable, but it seemed a little rushed with how the villains were neatly tied together. It was like the author didn't know what to do with them and just got rid of them any way she could.
All in all not a terrible story, but I have enjoyed some of the authors other work better. = )

Me gustó bastante, no sé si fue que lo leí en el momento adecuado o qué pero me parecieron muy buenos personajes y una buena trama.

With her family falling destitute, Lady Olivia Fairfax sees no choice but to become a highwayman. You'd think this would be interesting but it surprisingly is not. I guess being a criminal makes Oliva technically a hellion. One night 'Ollie' robs the wrong man, Lord Gabriel Wellsby, Marquis of Bathurst. Gabby is supposed to be the rogue but if you ask me (which you didn't) he's simply an ass. When Olivia and Gabriel meet again - for the first time - practically the first words out of his mouth are, "Do you put out? Wanna give me some?" That's not being a rogue, that's being an ass.
Olivia repeatedly claims, "I won't fall into your arms like all the other women," as she repeatedly falls into his arms like all the other women. Once they pop they can't stop. I don't recall them ever being able to finish a conversation without dropping their drawers. For various reasons Gabriel is compelled to marry Olivia but swears they won't have any children because of his deep dark secret that he will never tell.

Me gustó mucho a pesar de tener todos los tópicos del género romántico. Es cortito y fácil de leer.
Desde que se conocen, Gabriel tiene claro que la quiere a ella y lucha por su amor, aunque en muchas ocasiones y debido al secreto que Olivia guarda su relación es un poco tirante y hay algunos momentos en los que la actuación de él hace que te den ganas de darle un capón, en el epílogo se te quitan todas las críticas. Los personajes secundarios, sobre todo la abuela de Gabriel, de la que te enamoras desde la primera línea.

I'm really not sure why I picked this one up other than I wanted an easy read for the pool. If you take away the many graphic sex scenes you wouldn't have much of a book left. Although I don't mind them, it was the same scenario time and again. Perhaps they were so frequent to cover up the ridiculous and flat characters. Olivia wasted no time in finding her way to Gabriel's bed only to swear she wouldn't let it happen again. Lo and behold, you guessed it. Five (or six or ten, fill in the blanks) more times, she's back in bed with him.
I've read this same story over and over. She's afraid to tell him something, he's afraid to tell her something, lots of misunderstanding, they fix everything the last ten pages and live HEA. Even Olivia being a highwayman reeked of familiarity. I know I've read other books where the female was a highwayman, nearly got caught, fell for the guy she robbed, and so on.
I've read other books by this author and enjoyed them but this tired, over-written story will be going to the delete bin.

With static characters and a formulaic storyline, this novel does little to impress. A summary would go something along the lines of "introduction, sex, plot twist, sex, plot twist, sex, plot twist, sex, expected conclusion with a setup for the next book, the end." It is unsurprising, therefore, that the reader often asks herself, " When will this book end?" The contrived plot twists and character interactions, as well as the unrealistic romance, disappoint. What can be said in the novel's favor, however, is that it is faced paced and simple - an easy read for a time when a reader wants some mindless entertainment.

Hace ya un tiempo que me leí este libro y me gustó. Estoy pensando en releerlo, por eso me he acordado de él. Lo cierto es que el título en sí, cuando lo vi en la librería, me llamó muy mucho, y la verdad es que el argumento llama la atención, ¿verdad? Porque ya se sabe con esas palabras (y con el título) que el salteador de caminos de ojos verdes, es en realidad la salteadora de caminos... Y si a eso le sumamos el hecho de que está ambientado en la época victoriana... apaga y vámonos. Me chifla esa época, como ya habréis comprobado con Orgullo y Prejuicio y demás.

What a surprising delight it is to discover a new author that can sweep the reader away into another time and make you forget life's realities. I applaud Ms. Masons talent in her ability to create not only a world but characters that make you want to jump into the pages and join their world. As with any great romance, there is the troubled soul who runs from love and the heroine that will eventually break down his walls to eventually hold his heart in her cherished hands. Yet what makes this book enjoyable is the heroine has a spine and pride of her own and is willing to turn her back on what society dictates to hold out for true love. Great book, quick read and when it is over you will be wishing there was more. Its a sign of a good book when you don't want to part with the characters the author created.

Olivia was left without money and a brother at college to support when her father died, after going through all their money. Living with her aunt and a house in need of repairs, she sees no other way than taking the persona of Ollie, Highwayman.
Gabriel is one of her victims and when she meets him at the next outing, he can´t resist, he knows there´s something more about her.
As a rake with a reputation, Olivia wants to stay away but destiny seems to have something to say about that.

I enjoyed this read with a different slant on the highwayman-a female this time. Olivia was left the sole support of a younger brother so she resorts to being Ollie the highwayman(woman). when she takes his dead brother's ring during one of her sorties, Gabriel, one of the famous Rogues of London and a confirmed bachelor becomes determined to find out who this robber in and retrieve his ring. Enjoyable story.

Jammer dat higwayman Olivia niet echt goed uit de doeken kwam, en dat hun relatie betreft trouwen en kinderen krijgen veel belangrijker was,...........maar toch heel erg leuk dit verhaal!

Al igual que la trilogía anterior, esta comenzó de buena manera. El primer libro goza de una trama interesante y hasta un poco impredecible. Sorprende en momentos, divierte muchísimo y su lectura amenra y rápida engancha bastante. Los personajes, en la mayoría del tiempo, resultan complejos y bien establecidos. La califiqué con 4 estrellas.

I love Connie Mason but I didn't like this book. It's hard to believe it was written by her. The style of writing is different from her other books. The writing in this book was very novice for such an accomplished writer.

I have never picked up a Connie Mason book that I did not thoroughly enjoy.
This book was no exception. The Rogue And The Hellion is everything a romance novel is supposed to be.
I absolutely recommend it.

I actually enjoyed this, there was danger and adventure, and a good amount of juicy drama. If you want a quick read, this is a great page turner.
