I was so excited to read this one. I love romantic suspense books and as soon as I received this, I couldn’t wait to start it. Alas, I couldn’t. I had other books to read first. But every time I opened my kindle, I thought of this book.

So I’m really happy that this lived up to my romantic suspense expectations.

I was hooked from page one. I really liked Spencer and Kat. I loved their bickering banter that they had at the beginning. And their history was rich. It was easy to see that they still had strong feeling for each other despite being apart for a year.

I thought they also worked well together. And I loved Kat’s description of Spencer:

TREX Special Agent Spencer Allen. Dominantly male. Highly sexual. He commanded authority with nothing more than a smoldering look from those destructive gray eyes.

However, as much as that was the perfect description for Spencer when he was with Kat, it didn’t totally describe him. Or rather, he didn’t completely live up to it. Not when he was with his boss. Spencer says it himself a little while later:

Spencer stilled as his blood cooled. Goddamn Weber for having the authority to do exactly that. And goddamn himself for not having the balls to tell him to take this job and shove it up his ass.

And I kept thinking that for a guy that was so “dominantly male” he wasn’t acting like that. And it’s not like he wouldn’t be able to find another job. He’s that good at what he does.

What really ticked me off was Weber telling Spencer what he could and couldn’t do during his downtime. Weber had a lot of nerve to tell Spencer that he would lose his job if he started seeing Kat again. I wanted to go all Dexter on Weber for that. I was already on the fence with Weber but that pushed me over the edge. I hated him from then on.

But I was standing up and cheering when Spencer told his boss off and that he was going to be with Kat no matter what. That’s the alpha I knew him to be!

Another person I hated…Kat’s partner/colleague Travis. I thought he as creepy and stalkerish in the beginning with the way he reacted to the mere presence of Spencer. I wanted to drop kick him for being such a creep.

Oh, and I won’t give the bad guy away, but I have to say, I was really glad to see Kat’s vampire come out ;)

“I can't move. The b-bastard took all my c-clothes and tied m-me to a t-tree. Since you haven't already k-killed him, I get dibs. You just have t-to come f-find me, first.”

The end of the book was action packed and I was both happy and sad that it was the end. Happy because I could wait to see how it all played out and sad because I didn’t want it to end.

I definitely recommend this book to anyone that loves romantic suspense books. This is a must read!

Good!

This was the first book I've read by this author and I really enjoyed it. It was gripping from the start and the story kept me hooked. Unloved the characters and I'm glad Spencer and Kat got their happy ever after. It was touch ad go for them at times, but it was an interesting read.

Better than I expected...

Really loved the male lead! Kat got a little wearing sometimes - but for me Spencer made up for it - will definitely be looking at others in the series!

Okay, just when I thought I couldn't find any other books to add to my ever growing top favorite books of all time, Allie Adams just had to go and write Rescue Me. Let me tell you what, I ABSOLUTELY love this book. Maybe it's my love for Romance Suspense or maybe it's just that Ms. Adams has done a fabulous job writing this story. Spencer and Kat are like fire. Their chemistry is blazing and their power to ignore it is weak. This isn't the first time these two have met. In fact, there is a history between the two of them and it didn't end well the last time. It's been a year since Kat walked out of Spencer's life because he chose his job as a TREX agent over Kat, or so he thinks. So when it's time to ask Kat for help again, it's the last thing Spencer wants to do, but his team needs her and so does a little boy they are searching for. Of course, once his eyes lay upon her, there's no use ignore the pain and love he feels for the woman. The two start up a romance that is not normal on any circumstance. There are people out to get Kat for her stumbling upon things no one wanted to be discovered and she turns to Spencer for help even though she doesn't want to. There is so much that was left unsaid but the both of them think they can just pick up where they left off. However, Kat wants marriage...and that's the one thing Spencer can give her. This story is fast paced, action packed, with secrets and STEAMY sex. I really love this book and was left in total book hangover. This is definitely a story I recommend and I cannot wait to read more from Allie Adams.

My Review:
4.5 Star Review - Rescue Me

I recommend this book.

This book contains heartache, passion, betrayal, secrets, and laughs.

Spencer is a TREX agent and used to date Kat. When he withheld information and lied to her they broken up. He needs to call her in on a rescue but will she come?

Kat was in love with Spencer but he lied and kept secrets from her. She will help out on the search but try to get the truth out of him about the current search.

When Kat is targeted Spencer steps in to protect her without her knowing. When she finds out the truth about the last search they did together will they survive the backlash?

Spencer is a warrior and super protective of what he perceives as his. Kat is strong willed and does not want to have to tolerate lies and secrets. Not even for Spencer.

I needed a good pulse pounding romantic suspense, and I got that in Rescue Me. There's plenty of action, suspense, romance- a great mix of things to keep my on my toes and on guard. The pacing is fast for the most part. There's a few spots where it runs a little slow, but we can't have it always on the go go go.

The chemistry between the hero and heroine is hotter than a summer's sky in Arizona! I should know, I live there, and I just read this book. Don't give me that look. I needed a little heat from the cold.

This is my first book by the author, but I'm already eager for more. Spencer and Kat are a dynamic couple that kept me turning the pages. The sexual tension sizzles, and the suspense only adds fuel to the already blazing fire. Excellent page turner.

Romantic suspense is one of my favorites. Allie K. Adams is a master at weaving a tale of romance, suspense, action and some of the hottest hunks dressed in black!!

Lead characters Kat Davis & Spencer Allen worked together to track down a missing child. I loved how the author has a background in the Search and Rescue field and was able to share it with us in this amazing story.

I really love the TREX seriesand look forward to reading the rest of this wonderful series. BTW....the ending of this book is a great lead into the next book At Any Cost!!

I recommend this fabulous series to all those who love the intrique and wild roller coaster ride of the world of romantic suspense!

You can never go wrong with an Allie K. Adams read....

The blurb for this book says: “One touch detonates the inferno burning between Kat and Spencer.” I agree completely. This book sizzles. But even more than that, Ms. Adams gives us what feels like an honest and in depth look at life in Search and Rescue. I felt like I was there in the field with the search teams. Add in someone trying to kill the heroine, and this book was impossible to put down. I hated to leave the search and rescue team behind when I finished and will be hoping Ms. Adams turns this into a series.

This book has been rewritten and released as part of the TREX series.

This is the book of my heart. I'm an active member of Search And Rescue and writing about it was really exciting. I may turn this into a series, depending on feedback.

“I can’t be the reason for my own misery. It had to be his fault. It just had to be. She was the victim in all this. Wasn’t
she?”

That pretty much sums up the heroine. I did not like her.

The H also was a miss. I don’t like martyr complexes. He loved her so much he wouldn’t marry her because if he died that would be hard on her. He’s willing to give her all his love for all his life, just not marry her and give her the benefits of marriage. Um that’s dumb, it’s the stupidest reason ever. So stupid it makes him stupid. If they break up and she has to live without him then what’s the difference. If he’s willing to give her love for their entire lives, then what’s the difference between that and marrying her. Good grief how stupid can you be.

This book was just meh. In fact, I started reading it thinking it was new, only to realize I’d read it before.

I didn’t rate it because I hardly remembered it other than remembering I did not like the heroine or the hero all that much. It wasn’t worth rereading it. I may or may not try the next in the series, but I’m kind of thinking I thought the same thing last time. Probably will just give it a pass.

Spencer and Kats HEA?

This book continues the story of Ex-lovers turned rivals, Search & Rescue Coordinator Kat Doyle and TREX Special Agent Spencer Allen who we met in the prequel novella First Response. When they are forced to work together on a search as a matter of national security they find that being in such close proximity brings back emotions they thought they had long since buried. When Kat is threatened Spencer finds that there is nothing he will not sacrifice to protect the woman he loves. His job, check. His happiness, double check. His life, in a heartbeat. Facing secrets and lies, a despicable enemy and the ultimate betrayal Kat will need to trust herself and the man who loves her to keep her safe and provide the future she yearns for. If she cant then someone could end up dead. I recommend this thoroughly enjoyable page turning romantic suspense.

I began reading this series from book 1, looking forward to the series and the concept behind the TREX agents. The storyline is there. The characters are bigger than life and fit the TREX concept. I like the TREX characters and how they are woven in and out of the entire series.
Unfortunately that's where my enjoyment ended. The story completely got lost in the constant crude explicit sex scenes. I left my rating at three because the story would have been great if there had been less explicit sex and more focus on the story.

Duty or Love

While working for someone, you are expected to adhere to their rules... While Kat and Spencer love each other, the rules of their Jobs both become constricted,, tearing them apart .. A .. as they continue to work thru personal stuff they work together to find the double crosser and get to the arrest of the Head of the Crime Club,, they find that love overcomes all barriers.

Wow!

Fast action, star-crossed lovers, and the excitement of doing what is natural to each fill this story. I really liked the struggle between openness and secrets ; that is a major problem because many spouses.

This was okay. I didn't love it so much that I feel compelled to read the rest in the series. It may have benefited from better editing; it was too long and dragging in some parts, and in other sections it was better.

Fantastic

If I had been holding a real book with pages instead of my kindle, I would have thrown it out the window! Frustrating beyond belief just because there are two people who are too stupid to know what they have! That’s how great this book is!

Ok, but predictable

Typical storyline. The characters were the same as any in this genre ... not that great in my opinion. Others may enjoy it though.
