It really was a a story full of suspense. I honestly thought the story was going to a different direction a couple of times, but my scenarios were tame compared to the actual mini-outcomes. I'm really happy to have read this and hope I find another one; there's a lot of these at every Walmart where I live. My heart was breaking and being fixed as I read along and am glad the story had such great twists and turns throughout the book.

Jill Elizabeth Nelson has a well written, action packed story full of good characters. Sheriff Rylan Pierce discovers a desperate woman, with her infant child, out in the middle of no where. The woman has amnesia and someone wants the child and doesn’t intend for her to live. Can the sheriff keep “Emily” and little “Oliver” safe? Did I mention there is lots of action??

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Safeguarding the Baby. I'm a fan of Jill's books so I'm always glad to receive one of them in the mail. This story is well-written, action-packed, and full of faith. I know you are going to love it

She didn't know who she was. She did know she was in danger. Fear and urgency filled her. She has no idea where she is. It is just wilderness all around her. A baby whimpered. Whose baby is it? Why does she have it? Blinding pain shoots through her head. She'd been shot. She needs help.

Sheriff Rylan Pierce follows an old rust bucket. He finds a young woman and a baby stranded in a vehicle. The car has run out of gas. The woman begs him to help her and then passes out. He calls for help. The woman has amnesia and can't remember anything including the baby's identity. Is it hers?

A horrific journey that sends these three on a chase with a murderous mastermind. God has a plan for these souls, a plan for hope and a future. God has a plan for you too. Trust Him, He won't let you down.

Right from the jump this book really pulls no punches on the intensity of the situation that Emily and Rylan are in. Almost to the point of absurdity with, international arms dealers, helicopters gunshot wounds and more. It just seemed a bit hard to believe that all this was occurring in rural Wyoming. Looking over all of that, the meat and cheese of this story was engaging and entertaining.
My biggest gripe would just have to be how rushed and unpolished the ending became. The climax of the plot really just came and went, no emotional moments during the firefight, it all just felt like the great build up was for an underwhelming result. The potential was there for more I felt, and I was just a bit let down. I would still recommend this book to somebody for an airport reader or something casual.

Once again an author tackles one of my least favourite tropes and sells me on it! Sometimes amnesia stories — especially suspense ones — can end up reading like a cliche but Nelson had me hooked from the very first page. It starts out deep in the heroine’s perspective and her panic and confusion just roll off the page. I could feel the tension climbing and had a solid knot in my stomach by the end of first chapter! So well done!

What follows is an intricate, cleverly executed suspense that left me as puzzled as Rylan and Emily. What was going on? What did these villains want? How were they always able to suss them out? Great combination of action and romance that kept me on the edge of my seat all the way through.

I like that the heroine was smart and witty in this highly entertaining story with lots of action. For a memory loss type story this was pretty good!

Sheriff Rylan Pierce comes across a mysterious woman on the side of the road with no memory and a baby in tow . He must get her right away.

Emily wakes up in a hospital confused about who she is and is attacked by no ordinary assailant with resources. Rylan gets there just in time to save Emily but is met with more questions than answers.

Rylan needs to figure out who is sending these attacks, who the women is and why a baby is so important! Hopefully Emily remembers soon to solve the why? Otherwise the danger will not stop!

This book is absolutely satisfying. There was just enough danger and suspense for my tastes.

From the back cover:

The discovery of a wounded woman and baby in a stranded vehicle plunges Sheriff Rylan Pierce into a chase with a murderous mastermind. Not only must he protect Emily and the child from a killer hot on their trail, but he must uncover the culprit's identity. But with Emily suffering from amnesia, his task just got harder. Will Rylan find the answers he needs before the killer finds them?

Well-written book.
Perfect blend of mystery and romance.
All the characters were really good. I especially loved the scene where the town people came to rescue her and the baby from the enemies.
Another aspect I liked was that this time there wasnt any corrupt official/mole in the law enforcement.
