When Thorvald is signed into an arranged marriage to seal a treaty, he doesn't expect it to be to a prince. Now, he has to navigate politics, and a nobility that's not fond of his wolf nature. As things heat up, can Thorvald survive until the wedding day- and seduce his handsome prince? this 10000 word story contains explicit gay sex, knotting, wolf shifters, and more! This story can also be purchased as part of the "Medieval Werewolf Erotica Bundle"."Not that- not to say you're only adequate," Thorvald hastens to add, "what I mean to say is that things could be much worse on all sides, but you're handsome and you're clever and I don't think I'd mind getting to know you better at all." He winces. "Gods, that was terrible. I'm awful at this- never mind. Forget I said anything."The prince's face is close to his, made sharp by the absolute lights and darks of the moonlight. There's an expression there that Thorvald can't name, something vulnerable that makes Thorvald think of the first time he ever saw the other man. When he speaks, his voice carries a note of questioning, of unsureness. "I don't think that was terrible at all."Thorvald's tongue darts out to wet his lips. The prince is so close to him in the darkness. He's seized with an impulse he can't ignore, and in a split second he's closed the distance. Prince Stephen's lips are soft under his. Something in his chest seems to bloom as the prince groans, low and wanting, and his lips part to admit Thorvald's questing tongue. His hand settles on the prince's hip. He can feel the hot beat of blood beneath cloth and skin, and his world contracts to the points where they're touching; lips and hands and teeth. Thorvald feels out of breath. Suddenly he's glad for this; for everything that's happened, for the circumstances that have led him here. For this moment.

Reviewed for Hearts On Fire Reviews

Oh, how I wish this had been longer. I could have read about Thorvald and Prince Stephen for hours. Thorvald is sent as part of an arranged marriage to seal a treaty. A treaty that the wolves really don’t want signed, so they send a male, thinking the Prince will be offended, send him home and the war will continue. They underestimate the Prince, however. He wants peace. He is also kind and gentle, and able to see beyond the “beast” that his people believe Thorvald to be. Thor himself says “I’m no peace offering, no proper wife. I’m an insult, a taunt”, and your heart breaks for him.

Again, I wish I could have had more of these intriguing, tender men. I loved this story (and the mating knot? So hot!) I will definitely be checking for more of Ms. Mistry’s work.

OMG... I LOVED that knotting scene. So damn hot to read. (I am currently obsessed with "knotting" and Alpha/Omega[though there is no A/O here, I'm just saying..] in my MM books so this was absolutely wonderful!)
I really liked this story and wish it was a little longer. Maybe a little more on the Charas would have been nice but over all a good short read. :)

A short shapeshifter fairytale without surprises and with a lukewarm sex scene. Definitely less intriguing than the author’s Gay Tentacles from Space and, frankly, not worth the money she asks for it. I would recommend your average Sterek instead for a similar level of satisfaction. Or Gay Tentacles from Space, doh!

What a pleasant read! There wasn't a lot in the way of original plot but the telling and characters themselves really boosted the story for me. I'd happily re-read this some other time. It gets half a point off for being too short.

Keeping an eye out for a lengthier story of the cute couple.

Could have been better.
I mean, overall, it's surprisingly good, but I just...
The thing in the end with the saving him thing and the that thing...could have been worked in a less abrupt way.

And the sex always feels really random in hers. As if they were made to be porn, so they have plot, but it's...porn plot, if that makes sense. Actually, I could be completely wrong, seeing as I really have no idea what porn plot is or would be. I suppose then I should say it's my impression of what Porn With Plot would be like? But it's not quite a PWP in the Plot? What Plot? sense...

Erotic short with very interesting/compelling characters and story capped with a nice bit of steam and sizzle

This may be an erotic short story, but I found the characters compelling, the plot and setting intriguing, and the writing to be enticing, flowing, fresh and vibrant. Of course, it was a wonderful buildup to the sizzle at the end. Frankly, it had better characters and plot than most novella or novel length romances. Three cheers for this erotic short, although you will have to wait for the full sizzle at the end, the steam is worth it. Oh, and knotting!

2012 Review:

Oh my god, this short story was funny and very, very unusual. It was also extremely intelligent and fascinating. Well written. Truly something special that drew me in right away.
The single perspective, present tense narrative added to the atmosphere. And lord, it really was deeply funny in a gallows humour kind of way.

Awesome and satisfying.

Thorvald and Stephen are so cute in Charlotte Mistry’s Wolf Wedding. Like I would actually love a full length novel featuring them. Thorvald is a werewolf, arranged to marry Prince Stephen in a calculated insult. And Stephen has a sharp mind and is secretly attracted to men. The plot was perfectly bite-sized (ha!). And the idea of PR in a medieval kingdom!

2.5 stars. Nice relationship development. Sex scene was too instant. Too short and undeveloped.

THE "GOODREADS TEAM" has sent me an email asking me to remove the BEAUTIFUL photo of two men, unclothed, yes, but only showing them sweetly entwined. Apparently, some numbnut found this photo distasteful. Mind you, no naughty bits are showing (ok, an ass, sheesh). It's about naked torsos and limbs and MEN IN LOVE.

In this day and age, you'd think people would have more important things to worry about.

In the space where nothing more was shown than what you might see on a BOOK COVER, I leave an 'in memorium' to a gorgeous photo depicting LOVE IS LOVE.

PHOTO REMOVED: IN MEMORIUM: HERE RESTED A PHOTO OF LOVE, I WILL MISS YOU

MY REVIEW:
(original reading and review post on April 13, 2013)
a knotty 4.5 stars

Can you have enough knotting in a shifter tale? Hell no to the oh-no!
Delicate negotiations for peace between two warring countries include an arranged political marriage between Thorvald, wolf shifter, and Prince Stephen. Being offered a male shifter as mate should be an insult and this is proof that certain factions are still working to undermine the peace treaty, but will Stephen see it as such? (so, you see, there is enough plot to go with the porn!)

“...and a second later the prince is coming in hot wet spurts onto Thorvald’s hand and his belly, body twisting and bucking and writhing. It’s fast and it’s filthy and it’s utterly perfect."

As is this short story!...ok, well, it coulda been longer... From the same author that gave us Gay Tentacles From Space!, another of Ms. Mistry’s books goes on my faves shelf.

(p.s. in this world we need no declarations of or angst about sexual preference. Nor do we care, does it matter? No, because labels mean nothing. With Thorvald and Stephen, love is just...love. Sweet.)

Wow…just…WOW. Great book, especially for a short story! This author gives you a lot of bang for your buck! You might be hesitant to spend 3-4 bucks for 40 pages, but you get a full, rounded out story that just works. Romantic, sexy, and of course, you feel sorry for the unwanted, clueless but ultimately heroic Thorvald, a political pawn. The seemingly airheaded but in fact crafty Stephen is a perfect match for him, understanding, admiring, and intelligent, and just a little in awe of his wolf man. I loved this and of course I wish it had been longer, but otherwise it was a perfect read!

I enjoyed this short read. I only wish it were longer. I got so into this world in the book that now I want to read more. And I love Thorvald and Prince Stephen. They are both intriguing characters and I would love a sequel (or more...). Anyways, I've read a couple of Charlotte's books now and this is one of my faves that I love re-reading. Definitely worth it.

The book was a good short read. I would have liked a bit more world building and more character building. I felt like I was reading an excerpt for a bigger story.

This was a nice enough read but somehow I didn't really connect with the story, even though I like reading about shifters. Maybe I'd feel defferently if the story was longer.

I wasn't expecting a lot in this bundle, but I really, really enjoyed this one! Great writing, characters, and I wish that this had been twice as long. And also, smokin' hot!
