Cook Britain was originally compiled for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and was imported into Canada via Canadian Living. This cookbook contains easy to follow recipes for the moderately to expertly skilled home chef, and is divided in to regions with each region's classic dishes being represented.
Two aspects of this cookbook that stood out for me were the small nuggets of information and historical background given with each recipe, and the glossary provided for those not familiar with British terms like "hob" or "crackling". I'm sure the reader who does not have an Anglophile background will struggle with what kitchen paper, pastry cases, pud, and swedes are and the Glossary simply and clearly offers a quick explanation.
The cookbook is well photographed which, for me as a home chef, is something I look forward to because I want to see what the end goal is.
