High on Bigfoot was a decent story on the beloved mountain ape. Based on the cover I was expecting a little more cryptid rage while the chase scenes were aplenty and not as interesting as Bigfoot ripping humans. My only visceral takeaway is that Bigfoot stinks big time and has sharp claws.
3.5 stars. This was pretty good. Any time an author takes an interesting, unique approach to a bigfoot story, I always give credit. Mixing in a drug cartel with cave dwelling, killer sasquatch? Yeah, it’s a fun time. Not a ton of character depth or crazy plot twists or much beyond just a group of men running around away from monsters in a marijuana harvesting compound. It yields a decent number of kills and action, and has a good pace throughout. The ending was also fine, but didn’t overly wow me. It, much like everything else here, needed to be expanded on a bit more. So while not my favorite bigfoot-related story, it took some risks and turned out ‘pretty, pretty good.’
Buck and Aiden are close friends who have chose to spend all summer in the mountains making some cash. Along with sixteen others, the duo are located in the middle of nowhere working for an illegal marijuana operation. Under the iron fist of Gestapo Karl, members begin to disappear one by one and rumors of a big shadowy figure start to spread. Government conspiracies, rival crops, the Feds and a killer Bigfoot on the loose, with no where to run, Buck and Aiden have officially clawed and bitten off more than they can chew.
As an attempt to be one with nature, Author Armand Rosamilia invites the reader on a trip to the great outdoors. With a premise of concealed trails, cash crops and illegal weed, High On Bigfoot quickly becomes a gateway drug towards a more sinister kind. Expect multiple jump scares, creepy characters and enough “oh shit” moments to invest in a new pair of pants.
The urban legend of Bigfoot has been written about for years by many talented authors. Now Rosamilia has lumbered forward with his blood-shedding ape-like cryptid killing machine.
Watch!…as courageous workers and shady bosses become prey…Listen!…to distant horrifying midnight roars…Feel!…the discoveries of cold human bones…Smell!…the unforgettable stench of the ultimate wildlife creature.
With a nod to Hunter Shea, an absolute killer cover and a full on rampage of the extreme kind, believe me my friends when I say, you’re “ganja” have a good time with this one. A Horror Bookworm Recommendation.
Want to make some cash? Spent a summer in nature, getting high and harvesting? Not unless you want to be bullied by a guy named Mario and chased by a crazed Bigfoot. Lots of fun involving a cave and trike chases. The ending was not expected.
This is my first book from this author, so please my review should not be taken too seriously. I think the premise is trying to move away from the characteristic topics of this type of story, which is appreciated, in addition to having some really surprising touches of humor. However, I have`nt just connected with the characters and brdifrd in some parts of the book it was difficult for me to continue reading. Everything and so, the result is not disappointing at all and I will continue reading other books by this author.
This was an interesting book. Additionally it was intriguing to think about how drug dealers make money. Glad I never got too curious before. Mix that with Bigfoot and you’ve got an interesting short story with a unexpected ending. I would say it is a realistic ending lol. Still enjoyable though!
This story caught my interest immediately and kept it throughout. Great writing. Nothing boring in this one. So many writings get caught up in the technical aspects, being so overly descriptive in the narrative, that I lose interest and stop reading. But not this one! Keep up the good work!
Two friends think they will make easy money while enjoying the summer outdoors, they are so wrong. There are stories of Bigfoot living up the mountain in a cave but the men working in the marijuana compound are soon to find out the stories are true.
Another good story about Bigfoot or Sasquatch! I was kind of surprised that so many people were killed by them, but didn’t know there were more than one!
