How do I begin? This was poorly written. First of all the use of English was substandard. I'm sorry but many many words were used incorrectly. It was like the author just put down the first thing she thought of regardless of whether or not the sentence was constructed correctly or if the word was used correctly or even if the correct word was used. It desperately needed to be edited by someone who could point out that this
is not a properly constructed sentence. That sort of thing is what an edit and rewrite is for. This is only one example.
The book consisted mostly of dialog. There was little to no description or any attempt to set any sort of scene. There was NO sci fi world building. As a minor example of this how can an alien be named Graham Masterson? This is an alien whose people had only had one minor contact with Earth about a hundred years ago. Shouldn't he have been called something like T'Car Sharil? The story jumped around sort of like a 4th grader saying "and then this happened and then this happened and then this happened." The characters were cardboard. The sex scenes were uninteresting. The interactions between all the characters were unbelievable.
Gosh I hate to pan a book like I'm doing here but it just wasn't good. I'd like to tell this author to try again, get an editor or even a friend with an English degree to read it first and then rewrite until it's polished.

If you're okay with everything on the disclaimer, then READ this book! It's exceptionally well written. Korey Mae has certainly got something going for her. I could actually feel the characters and their playfulness. This book had depth and it had a good plot. Loved it.
I think it's not more popular because of content not because of bad writing. I assure it's extremely good writing.

Sci-fi/fantasy, abduction into slavery, a spitfire heroine, and scorching hot spankings create a combo that can't be beat. Korey Mae Johnson just keeps proving to me with every story i read that she is a must read author and has quickly become one of my very favorites!

This book has problems. In my opinion ,it is not really good at anything that it's trying to be. If you have the time , then feel free to read on:
1) As a sci fi book, the world building, different locations, interesting technology, explanations for and exploration of the previously mentioned - all of these are almost or completely non existent. I understand that these elements are not a priority in a book like this , but here they are relegated so much to the side they might not even exist. The majority of the book takes place in a single location , a spaceship, which is marginally better written or described than the other location(s) and yeah, that's not a good thing.
2) The characters are not, how do I put it, oh yeah, rational.
2 a) The h is abducted by an alien overlord to be a weird sort of pet. She has abilities due to being part alien herself as revealed later , useful abilities but she gets punished every time she uses them.
2 b) The H just seems to be the personification of every bad DD trope. He punishes her for putting herself in danger when he could have easily mitigated the danger just by being with her, punishes her when she proves herself right. He expects respect, no, complete obedience would be a better word , without ever giving her anything resembling respect, credit, trust. At one point , the philosophy is flat out stated to be -"children and naughty wives get punished.” One of his earliest interactions with her is when he falls prey to 'alien pheromones' and almost attacks her, holding himself back and his companions are basically like "Yeah, he's trying to prevent himself from raping you" I'm sorry , what?! A separate review can be dedicated to Graham Masterson, and yes that's the alien's name.
2 c) The other characters are basically different versions of them but worse in different ways, especially the human couple, which I don't want to go into otherwise this section will probably become even longer than before.
3) Now, if you can get past all that or you find the characters interesting, that's your choice and while I can't say I agree, it's subjective, so if you enjoy it, good for you. But one thing that can not be denied or excused is the level of writing- the text has grammatical errors I would expect in a first draft, not in the finished published product. That is not an opinion, grammar is not subjective. Dialogue can be written in various ways to enrich or give depth to the characters but the prose descriptions- they are supposed to follow the basic rules of the English language. The language does not need to be too complicated or flowery, but here, here it's just abysmal in quality.
4) This is probably going to be the most controversial but where I think this book fails the hardest is it's central theme - DD. Domestic discipline is supposed to be between consenting adults with choice, what people do in their own personal life, as long as it's consensual, should be their own business. Or at least that's what other books or people defending it use as an argument and I agree , to a certain extent. See, in this book, consent is basically never given any importance. The punishment of the h at the hands of her alien overlord who's supposed to be a sadistic prick , seems no different from her punishment at the hands of the H or the human male. She's never asked if she consents to it and the alien overlord, well he's supposed to be evil, but what excuse does the H have? His philosophy, which basically seems to be the author's philosophy in the book at least is , he can punish her because he's male , and therefore knows better. I'm sorry, did I miss something? How is that okay? Again, I don't think there's anything wrong with being submissive. If that's what makes you happy, if that's what you want , good for you, and hope you find a decent , loving partner because the men in these books , they certainly aren't that. They put the ladies in situations where they end up in trouble and then punish them for it. There is a human couple in the book and there's a scene where the man decides to spank the woman over something, the woman who has repeatedly made it clear that she doesn't agree with this is ignored again and when he tries to physically force her, she bites him and runs away. This instead of being treated as a serious issue , is treated as a game among the aliens who catch the woman and then deliver her to the man, who then straps her. That's from the couple who is human , from our time period. If you think you can get behind something like that, then go for it, but I can't. So, two stars it is

I expected a book about a strong and smart woman who fights and manipulates her alien owners. Instead I got whining and weakness.
The story starts after the main character Ellie was kidnapped and sold by aliens. Her entire body was scrubbed and oiled, and her privates were waxed but the first time she decides to resist is when she sees the clothes she's expected to wear. Apparently kidnapping her and spreading her legs to rip out her pubic hair are fine but expecting her to wear an outfit that doesn't cover her belly is a reason to revolt... So that was surprising.
Another surprise came when Ellie found out that she could hear her reptilian owner's telepathy and used it to manipulate him. I expected her to become the top dog among the servants after that. When that didn't happen I expected her to at least become the head servant Peyton's equal partner but that didn't happen either. She's treated like a pouty teenager and gets spanked whenever she doesn't do as she's told. It's one thing for her reptilian owner to treat her that way but Peyton should be her equal, instead he disrespects her as a grown woman. Even worse she disrespects herself by acting like a whiny petulant teenager.
After that things got really annoying. She hates her special power. The ability to hear telepathy, which helps to make her life better, helps to make the lives of the other servants better and even helps to save lives. That special power! Instead of being grateful for it she hates it because it supposedly makes her a freak... smh
When she walks in on two people having sex she completely overreacts because "omg sex is teh icky!"
Even alien prisoners about to be executed threaten to spank her. Men seem to be universally unable to respect the fact that she's a grown woman.
I'm ok with bad guys giving non consensual spankings and with good guys giving consensual spankings. But supposed good guys and non consensual spanking are not an ok combination to me. Unfortunately this book is full of it and other annoying things so at 30% I gave up.

I liked it! I appreciated that the alpha guy remained alpha even while she was his wife. I really enjoyed the lizard in the beginning - I was hoping for more weird kinky stuff with him but alas this was very mild - just a bit of public exhibitionism and a little finger action. Sigh.
Ellie was pretty bratty - which is not a trope I really like - so that brought it down a little. She was young so I did give her a break but even for being young she was quite obnoxious at times. It was hard to see her as any grown woman when she acted like a 12 year old - to her credit the author never shies away from that and there is acknowledgment that Ellie is really immature. I LOVED the elder Masterston - woo Daddy! Yes Sir!
I did like how Ellie was herself even when acting immaturely - it was realistic and made a lot of sense.
Where this one lost a its stars is
1. In the world building of which there was very little. I needed much more to get the picture of this SciFi world in my head. Lacking that it sort of looked like Nevada to me. Not sure if that was intended but that's how it felt. I had no experience of this world by sight, touch, smell, or sound. Adding small elements that addressed these senses would have created a rich vibrancy. As it were this was, well, dry. We needed more description and not only of body parts and size. Especially since Ellie's skills opened up a whole world of opportunity ripe for exploration but it is just not deep enough for the length of the book. A space ship is just a space ship. You don't really get any sense of size, construction, how it feels inside, what it sounds like, or even what sort of odor might permeate it's passageways and cabins.
2. Some strange word choices that pull you out of the writing because they don't really fit. Some sentences had 6 or 7 comma's which just didn't read or flow smoothly. The author has a talent for the story - that much is clear. The ideas area great and she creates interesting characters who touch you so this seems to me to be something workable. I get the impression the author is very young (too many WOW!, SWEET! expressions in the book) and I for one am encouraged because growing in this craft means we have some great stories to look forward too!

I ended up being really disappointed in this book. It started out so well, and Ellie was such a wonderfully appealing character, that I was initially thinking this would easily rate 4 stars.
Wow..how could it all go so wrong? Well, first of all there's the problem with word usage - apparently as long as it passes spell-check, it doesn't matter if the word is used correctly (e.g. on site instead of on sight). This is a pet peeve of mine, and it made me crazy in this book -- it's all over the place!
A second disappointment is that Ellie's character transforms from being a smart, likeable, spitfire into wet tissue paper. Even following the "union" with Graham she maintains her backbone and gives as good as she gets, then suddenly about 3/4 of the way through she's suddenly meek and obedient. You hardly get to know Graham at all - he's way alpha (and way into spanking) - but he's just cardboard.
The story finishes too abruptly. It's as if the author ran out of story, and just stopped. It's very disconcerting. Also, the actual sex scenes are few and far between, and they're not really hot at all. There's way more spanking than I would have thought (even given the notification in the book description), but it gets monotonous after a while, and I eventually just skipped over those sections.
I'm giving 2 stars only because it started with such promise!

I started off liking this book and so will you...but then there are thing i found i increasingly took issue with the logic of.
1. escapes from the slave master...basically to the same type of slave master the only difference is they can have sex.
2. the main character is automatically considered an idiot by literally everyone including the other female character despite there...honestly being no proof to that. impulsive yes, stupid no.
3. misogyny. If you have a vagina you should be a servant. < at first you think it won't go that way, but it does. its not overbearing its not protective it's "she should be my servant because she has ovaries" they want her to be stupid and useless. the "shut up and make me a sandwhich or i will beat you" comes into play alot.
4. i'm just going to say the human male character ..."from texas" offends me on multiple levels. Sorry if you are a beater you get shot here you don't get rewarded. its one thing if its for fun or in his case work another to just think it's his right to beat you for being a bad personal servant of his.

This si a great sci-fi fantasy story about Ellie Jonas who was abducted by aliens and is now a harem girl but one with a distinct advantage. She can hear and understand ‘Shal’ta’, the aliens' telepathic language so she is able to help not only herself but her friends as well to keep from too many of the harsher punishments. That is until Graham Masterson shows up and kidnaps her and takes a couple of her fiends with her on a rollicking adventure. Ellie and Graham it seems are each others fated mate and he sure does know how to keep her in line whenever she gets into trouble which is quite often.

My hopes were perhaps a little high for this novel. The reviews seemed pretty positive so I made the purchase. On the up side, I liked the the author gave her characters some personality and funny dialogue. I also enjoyed that she gave us story about several characters. I liked the plot. That's why I bought it. But all in all, it came off a little tame for me. Just wasn't naughty enough. At this point, I'm not buying book #2. Maybe I will if it's ever free on Amazon Prime.

Overall I enjoy Never Submit! Ellie was a little ridiculous and far fetched. Graham could have been a more engaging character but it was a fun read. I particularly enjoy the scifi elements and think this is one of the better stories on this theme. I find Korey Mae Johnson a fair writer. Sometimes her word choices and sentence structure are a little odd which could distract from the story but luckily the story flowed quickly enough that I was able to get back in to it without too much trouble.

Well this books has a bit of everything lizard-like space aliens, humanoid aliens, captured earthlings, spankings, dominate males to name a few. Oh, my. Not usually my first pick of sub-genre but wow I really loved this story. Ellie is so smart and so gutsy. She's really keeping Graham on his toes. Can't wait to read more of this story.
