Helpful for being able to label many of the behaviors that have been hurting you or driving you nuts, but I felt the advice still placed so much responsibility on the person experiencing the abuse to figure out the right way to engage with the other person. Hello, we’ve been doing this our whole damn life. I don’t need to feel more guilty about “well maybe I should say it this way instead”.

I've been with my husband for 14 years and it wasn't until this past week that the possibility of him having BPD came up. After reading this book, I feel like I now understand him on a different level and feel better about our future together. I can't even describe in words how grateful I am that this book exists. If you love someone who might struggle with BPD, this is a necessary read.

This book is a hefty read, although I listened to the audiobook. I had to do it in small doses at a time. If you have had a relationship with or had someone in your life with BPD, this could bring up triggering memories. The author goes into detail and offers examples of situations that arise when navigating through the complexities of loving someone with BPD.
