You know you're reading a good book, when you find yourself laughing out loud. This book truly is a page turner and at first I was a little concerned whether I would like it, because the character is speaking in first person, but I thought it was great.

Fiona is a spunky attorney, who is a chip of the old block whether she wants to believe it or not. She throws a DFL party to celebrate her long awaited divorce and she claims she is finish with love. You soon find out that you have to be careful about what you say. No sooner does she make her vow to remain single for the rest of her lifr, than in walks Nick. We soon discover that Fiona's strong facade is a protective shield against being hurt. Nick is what she needs in her life to help her learn that its okay to trust and depend on someone else. She seriously puts their relationship to the test, but in the end Nick proves anything worth having is worth fighting for.
Ramona (Fiona's sister) is a real character. I would really have liked to have been able to find out more about her. I think she was always jealous of Fiona, which is why she didn't feel bad about her decision. I would have loved finding out whether she got what she really deserved. I probably would have eventually forgiven her too, but I still would have wanted to kick her behind big time. It's just the principal. I think there's something deeper going on there and it would be interesting to see her story. Rita Mae(Fiona's mother) was hilarious I loved her character. Being a mother myself I think I probably would have reacted the way she did. Ultimately, I think the story was about facing betrayal and disappointments, while learning to forgive so you can live your own life fully, which ain't easy. San Culberson did an excellent job of putting a funny spin to a difficult topic. Great story!!!

Blast from My Past

I first read this book over ten years ago. I loved it. I reread it so much. It never failed to have me laughing out loud. Rereading it again had me remembering parts I had forgotten, and I still laughed until I cried. Fiona can be a but much, but I love her. I like Nick because she likes him and definitely made him work for it. He's not a perfect hero, but I think he had good intentions with Fee. (As many times as I've reread this book, I've earned the right to call her Fee.) Parts of this book can be problematic, but no character in this book is perfect, despite how much Fiona may think she is.

Happily Ever After

Fiona Daniels, like many others, found out that sometimes love does hurt. Newly divorced, she has formulated what she believes is a fool proof plan, with the hopes of avoiding another heartache.

Fiercely fabulous, Fiona falls for a friendly face while toasting herself at her divorce party. She is totally pleased with the delicious night that they indulge in. What's done is done; now on track, Fiona is looking to take her career to the next level. While lunching with clients, Fiona comes face to face with her scrumptious one night stand, Nick.

Nick Nathaniel is a Chef Restaurateur divorcee with children. Although he's already sampled the goods, there is definitely a spark between Nick and Fiona. Nick uses Fiona's flawed way to stir up the magic ensuring that the two of them spend more and more time together. Firmly, Fiona denies what is obvious. Is there love in the mix?

In The Nick of Time is uproariously funny. San Culberson has written a nice, light book that you are quickly drawn into and dying for more tasty treats. I look forward to more from the entire Daniels family.

I've Got a New Attitude

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fiona Daniels is determined not to be that fool again. After the betrayal of a cheating husband, she promises to be a DFL (divorcee for life). Up goes her guard and sealed shut is the door to her heart. On the night she's celebrating the official exit of one man in her life, another man makes an unofficial entrance. Has he arrived in the nick of time? Can he save Fiona from herself?

I loved it! "The Nick of Time" is a dramedy filled with the perfect balance of drama and humor. As the story spirals towards its climax, readers' emotional attachment to the characters is strong. I loved the witty banter that characterized the relationship of Fiona and Nick. Fiona's mother was a riot. The writing in this novel is wonderful. San Culberson deftly sustains a lively pace while remaining true to her characters. San, I like your spunk and flare. "The Nick of Time" is well worth the read. I look forward to San's sophomore novel and hopes she revisits the Daniels family one day soon.

Ok, so this book was not bad. Honestly, I think is was something, I was suppose to read in the quest for the start of a new, happy life. Although I am not divorced or anything like Fiona,(the main charater in the book), I a stubborn. So i felt a connection.

Fiona is a lawyer who is recently divorced an decides to through a ceblbration because of her new found "freedom', but as the story begins to unfold, she finds herself falling for a man without even really realizing it. She thinks she is numb to the so called love of man. I think this is a pretty good book (minus chapter 22). It is not a bad read if you are a stubborn woman with a harden heart who thinks that being love struck can not happen to you.

I absolutely loved this book. An easy read and page turner. And a book that I can totally relate to. Sometimes, you find love when you least expect and if its the right one, then its even better the second time around.
