Hi. I'm Val. Welcome to my life. What do you need to know? Well, recently I've had my body hijacked by a vengeful ghost. My four best friends have told me they don't wanna be just friends anymore... because they love me. And paranormals, including my men, are way more powerful than they should be. No worries though, me and my gang are on the case. Or cases... We might get sidetracked every now and then, but who doesn't pause when you find out one of your lovers might be Underworld royalty? Thisis our origin story. I guess that means it's time to sit down, buckle up and enjoy the ride.
DNF - quit at 10% I felt like I missed a prequel, or maybe this was split from another series? That really hurt the bottom line on this. It jumps from the prologue where she’s 19 & wants to be a hunter & is trying to get her Dad to agree to her being a hunter, (with no time frame for the jump forward) to her being a hunter with 4 others (guys, labeled as friends with benefits) on her team. There’s no explanation of what a hunter is, and no defining what she is to be a hunter. The 4 others on her team, as best as I can tell, is a hellhound shifter, a mage, a Nephilim, & I think the 4th guy is also a hunter but with annoying use of “pronouns”, because he doesn’t want to be a girl OR a boy though it sounds like he’s genetically a guy (getting in on the transgender stuff going on is absolutely a turn off for me, & enough to make me want to quit reading anything from this author). This needs a huge helping of cohesiveness to make the story work. It had promise, but lacked the cohesiveness to pull it together & make it work for me.
The author notes in the beginning, state “ given it another round of editing, and then republished it with a pretty new cover along with a brand new pen name”, BUT the typos were too numerous for this statement to be true. I picked this up for free on Amazon, but will also be deleting it from my Kindle now.
At my age (61), life is way too short & my time is too important to force myself to read a book I'm not enjoying, especially when there are so many other books out there waiting to be read.
I love Val, Fletcher,Dev,North, and Scott. This group not only works as a team but also a family. They work well together because they have trained together since they were kids. Val's father, Mr. Corby took in orphans and children who were homeless and trained them for his Hunters Guild. We see them go from friends with benefits in the first story The Girl in the Sequined Dress to navigating a full-on, why choose relationship. They solved several different kinds of supernatural crimes from the ghost who possessed people to accidental summoning, where we learn some more about Dev. Then, to the reuniting of Scott with his brother Spike in The Vanishing Hound. During this story, there was an awakening of feelings between Dev and North. Changes in the relationship dynamics were introduced with Spike entering the scene. I love how they use the puzzler as a way to get around and sleep in when other accommodations aren't available. Val is described as having a dark hair box cut with dark glasses, bringing into the thoughts of the old comic of Scooby-Doo as I was growing up. I loved that once they defined their relationship that between assignments, they tried to make special dates for Val. They are such a sweet group together that when they have special spicy times, they are really hot. Fletcher is a Dom, and Val enjoys being a brat sometimes. They group dynamics work really well for both their downtime and when they're solving a mystery.
This story takes us on a rollercoaster of a journey. We follow Val and her team, which consists of a Nephilim, Hell Hound, Mage, and Incubus, as they solve cases that involve ghosts, demons, witches, a surprise unicorn, and vampires. On top of these cases, they are also figuring out their new RH relationship. During one of these cases, they get a tip that there might be someone hiding in the background that is out to destroy the team.
We have humor, tension, mystery and heart break all wrapped up into this book that will leave you begging for more. If you love paranormal romances and characters that make you laugh at their antics, this is the book for you! I look forward to seeing these characters again in the next book.
K.L. Ayla’s first book in The Hunter Chronicles series is a little like a modern day Scooby Doo Gang that even has their own Mystery Machine vehicle. There are significant differences though. This group of hunters also have supernatural tendencies themselves. There’s one female and four males in the group sans the dog. And the situations aren’t funny either. Lots of exciting adventures, mystery, suspense, steamy situations and unexpected twists and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat. The ending had me screaming and crying at the author for mercy! Yes, it ends on a cliffy but it’s certainly worth all the emotions and the impatient waiting for the next installment to get your hands on this baby. Highly recommended and definitely a MUST read!
Val is a strong, independent woman who don't need no man.....but she does love the 4 men that have stolen her heart.
As the leader of the team of hunters, Val and her supernatural men (Fletcher the Nephilim, Scott the Hell Hound, Devin the incubus and North the mage) travel the country and stop supernatural forces out to cause problems.
But with a peace treaty to broker and a hot long lost sibling, their lives are about to be more than they expected.
Genesis is a why choose PNR romance. And my goodness does it deliver on the spicy scenes. I love the mix between supernatural hunting to the bond and love that is formed between the main characters. Absolutely loved this book and cannot wait for the next one. Easily a 15/10 read!
Genesis is a why choose PNR romance. Val is strong and smart. She has fought to prove herself and become a leader of her team of hunters, trying to impress her Dad as well. Val, Fletcher - the strong and sensitive Nephilim, Scott - the fun and playful Hell hound, Devin - the unique incubus, and North - the mage, make up a hunter team of paranormal investigators. They all love each other and take care of each other, being there no matter what. The mystery RV is where the action is!! There are mysteries to solve and hot smutty times to be had! Genesis is a great read for anyone who enjoys why choose romances with a PNR twist!!
This book contains 3 stories: The Girl In The Sequined Dress, The Accidental Summoning and The Vanishing Hound plus an additional 2 short scenes. It ends on a cliffhanger, but the story continues in The Luckless Leprechaun, by K.L.'s other pen name, Leslie Ayla.
I loved this book so much!!! Val is such a bad*ss, and I love her team of boyfriends. I don't even have a favorite! There's North the Mage, Scott the hellhound, Fletcher the Nephilim and Dev the incubus. All are dreamy and completely devoted to Val. Plus the mysteries they work on are super interesting and make you want to read a thousand more! I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good PNR RH!
Genesis by K.L. Ayla is yet again another fabulous addition to this super fun paranormal work that Ayla created with Val and her crew!
Val, Dav, Fletcher, North and Scott are backs again for even more adventures and things just continue to heat up. I love these characters and the diversity they bring, and once again the plot and storyline flow beautifully and keep you entertained till the very end. Overall if you love a quick fun unique paranormal read that’s packed full of goodness galore then this is the one for you!
Val and her team of Hunter, who are all different species. Northon, Flercher, Scott and Devin have all know eatch other a long time and are tarvelig around in an old RV to hunt for supernarural problems. The team Get more assignments from Vals Dad, and on the one thats suposed to be a peace negotiation mission, everything changes. Lost family members reapears, new relations happens and starts to devolve, where Will it all end up?
There are so many things I like about this one. It's a RH where the dynamic is already set, even if it's not concrete, the characters are a lot of fun, and there's even a hellhound. I saw another reviewer compare it to a Scooby-Doo mystery for adults, and I think that's the best comparison I've seen. The story isn't dark, but there is a power exchange going on, and it's quite steamy, which I loved. Ms. Ayla tells a fabulous story that will keep a reader entertained and I really enjoyed it.
I just love Val and her team of sexy paranormal hunks. They solve paranormal mysteries while getting close and steamy with each other. Not only do they have investigations to solve but they also have to figure out who is out to get them specifically. If you enjoy books that make you laugh, cry, and fall in love while trying to figure out the mysteries then you are going to love Genesis by K.L. Ayla
This is such a fun read! It combines paranormal romance with RH and ghost hunting. It is quite an adventure that is only the beginning. I am very excited to getting to know Val and her men. There is a fantastic balance of suspense and spice. The suspense for. I am loving the dynamics of the team and how the relationship is growing and evolving. The mystery and heat both kept me engaged. There are a few twists that were unpredictable and make me so excited for the next book.
Genesis is a Paranormal why choose romance and it follows Cal and her hunter team if mates. I lived hiw strong Val was and won't take anything from her men and stood her ground but also understood that they allbhad their own ways of doing things that added to the group. I lived the twists and mysteries that this group was solving and can't wit to see what mystery is in the next book for these guys and their strong FMC
Val definitely has a lot on her plate and plenty of the things she endured gets relieved by two yummy men. They take out the stress the best way possible and the steam is fabulous. I enjoyed reading this book it refreshed me in what I had read previously . I still think Val is the best. I loved the paranormal elements along with the shifters. You definitely will want to read this book!
I wasn't really sure what I was getting into when I picked up this book, but I have to say, I quite enjoyed it! I thought the cast of characters was unique and diverse, and I always love a group of different paranormals, as opposed to everyone being the same. I thought the chemistry within the group was great, whether they were interacting as friends or lovers.
Thanks to Book Boyfriend Buzz for the review copy.
Remember when you were a kid... how much you loved scooby-doo? Well, this is scooby-doo for adults. I love this entire series! Solving supernatural crimes, helping ghost-possessed people, and accidental summonings. What more could you ask for? The relationships between the main characters continue to grow and mature. You won't regret reading this.
This gives off some serious so weird vibes. Which was a show on Disney in the 90s. I definitely enjoyed the book. There were parts that I got bored with, though. I love that they are all different species, and that is rh. 4 stars is what I gave it. It was good but it just didn't always hold my attention
This book was so fun. It reminded me of Supernatural but as a RH. It's full of romance, funny moments, and interesting plot. If you're into a sexy, funny RH where the group is made up of diverse beings then this is the book for you. Beware of the cliffhanger though, it's a good one. I can't wait to read the next book and see where this goes.
Interesting for sure with nephilim, hell hound and other supernaturals. I really liked this series and it's a bit different. The group was pre established but are now just learning to navigate their evolving relationship. Enjoying the men here and also loving the paranormal elements with the shifter so best of both worlds.
Val, Dev, Scott, North and Fletcher are best friends. Together, they solve mysteries and generally have a lot of fun. Travelling around in the Puzzler, an old RV, is an adventure in itself. Magic, mayhem and mischief culminate in a story with a great storyline and fab characters.
This is a great steamy, paranormal RH romance. The FMC is human and her harem is a variety of paranormal creatures. The spice is mild at first but picks up as the story continues. The scene between North, Val and Dev near the end will set your Kindle ablaze. This does end in a cliffhanger.
I adore stories that have the why choose concept that carries a strong plot with well developed characters. This is one of those stories Val and her men are up for adventures and are determined to do their jobs. Of course, this isn't an easy thing but they do it.
Genesis is a why choose PNR romance. Val is our FMC. She is smart, fierce, and strong. Scott, Fletcher, North, and Dev are the four MMCs that are deeply devoted to Val. The book is full of suspense and keeps you wanting to read till you finish book and the cliff hanger leaves you wanting more.
I loved reading this book! The RH element and just how well Val gets along with her mates is amazing! I can't wait for the next book! Definitely recommend it!

This book was amazing. I loved the characters and storyline. I can't wait for the next book because that cliffhanger was crazy. It leaves you with so many questions.
