Sometimes a book arrives in your life at exactly the right moment. This one was tucked on a shelf in an apartment I rented in Paris this weekend (how pretentious does THAT sound?). The title leapt out at me right away and the book and I were never apart for the remainder of my stay. It was my constant companion, laughing at the same jokes, handing me a tissue for my tears, and always, always ready with a cheese plate for culinary comfort. I am far from recently single, but this book address the care and feeding of the broken heart like no other. Every page is like an entire self-help book distilled into just the briefest of illustrated quips, and it's far more effective without the fluff. Go get it right now. And if you happen to run into Jason Logan, tell him I believe him. Everything is going to be okay.

Charming. Very fun to read :) Logan has a way of telling this story through drawings and captions. After I read this, I let all my friends borrow it because it was too cute not to share.

Painful, funny, and often painfully funny, Jason Logan walks us through a breakup with the help of drawings, flowcharts, diagrams, and the weary, worn-down voice of experience.

I think it was about 13 years ago that I read this book. It was exactly the right book for where I was at. It was warm, smart, funny and comforting. It made me laugh when I thought that all I could do was cry. It became my security blanket for a while. It still sits in my bookcase and when I see it there it feels like seeing an old friend.

this was a cute little collection of comics but unfortunately nothing special. some of them were very hard hitting and others light hearted and funny and i enjoyed reading it but others felt very dated, which is to be expected as this was published in 2005 i believe. it was a bit longer than i thought was necessary but i’m sure would be a great pick me up read for anyone going through a breakup!

This book gives an excellent comment on how someone recovers after a long relationship ends.

Such a silly little book, I will always keep it on my shelf. Well, because it is "my" book, and we will someday break up (if ever).

"Heartfelt, sardonic, and self-deprecating sketches appealing to the lonely and content alike. Reminiscent of Matt Groening's Life in Hell with a smidge of Chris Ware's nonchalance. I'd like to own this book, if only to frame every other page. A few tidbits (that are far better in their original context, but you get the idea):
Getting a dog doesn't necessarily mean you have moved on . . . and particularly not if you give it the name you had picked for the baby.
So far today: Organized my thoughts about last night's sleep Tested both sides of the bed for softness Did some electrical work on my alarm clock (unplugging mostly) Constructed a fort for myself out of pillows and blankets Developed a long-term plan for actually getting out of bed Made this list
Last night I slept like a baby in the sense that I woke up every two hours screaming for my mommy.

funny and witty, just like the cover said.. love how it reveals all those awkwardness, endless tiring argument and stupid fights in such a funny way,and how you try to act cool in front of ur exes.. they are just too funny, too cool.. and i love this kind of illustration with such good smart irony for the heart.

Simple drawings reveal an almost too-intimate knowledge of the process of grieving for a lost relationship and the experience of dealing, moving on, and getting back out there, so to speak. Wry, cute, sentimental.

Just fine. Like bitter line drawings as a rule, so this was good. Maybe a little too depressing, but hopeful in the end. I'd like the "aren't relationships wacky" prologue or epilogue to this book, in line drawings. Start writing it, please.

I was under the assumption this had some paragraphs in it. It's more of a journal, but with pretty much a sentence per page, if that. Hard to understand, but then again I'm currently in a long relationship. It's cute however, but how it ended was kind of like... "that's it?"

This book was hilarious! I read it in one sitting, and laughed throughout the whole thing! I got it as a joke, and I loved it! Full of diagrams and pictures, this is not a book that will be re-gifted!

Great plot, though I was more looking forward to a story rather then a book w/drawings.

Great illustrations and concepts. I remember being taken with this book at least a decade ago as I perused a bookstore, but its observations did not seem quite as sharp to me this time around.

It was alright, I really liked the style of the book. Some of the quotes were noteworthy, I'll keep it on my shelf because the pages were nice to look at.
But definitely no storyline in my opinion.
