This was a cute book. It discusses a robot going to the zoo just to find out the animals are just likes him. The book gives a strong message of self-worth and discovery. I also enjoyed the illustrations as they reminded my of older children's books I liked to read. It was funny and had a great story, I would definitely recommend the book.

Overview: The Little Robot is curious to see what goes on at the zoo after it closes. He is surprised to learn that the zoo animals are all robots just like him. A sweet story of curiosity and and self discovery. Perfect for bedtime reading. Humorous and interesting, this book is delightfully told and beautifully illustrated.
Mary's Review: What a delightful and imaginative story written in poetry form about a little boy's visit to the zoo where all the animals are robots. Each shows that each animal has it's own special diet, that they are loved and cared for, love back, have their own sense of humor and personality. The book takes the children on a wonderful adventure allowing them to use their imaginations in picturing a zoo full of robot animals. What a small surprise to find out the little boy is a robot as well.
The illustrations are just as imaginative, adorable and colorful.
I feel this book teaches children that even though we are all unique in our own way we can live still together as one in peace and harmony.
I recommend this book for ages 4-8.

I thought this was really creative and imaginative. A fun story about a robot boy hiding out in the robot zoo and interacting with all the robot animals. It's a neat adventure into the world of robotics and the illustrations are beautiful!
I really enjoyed the rhymes on each page about the animals (especially the Lion!) they flow nicely and piece together a fun adventure. And while the boy and all the animals are robots and therefore, in a way, the same, they are all also unique.
It's a clever book and I think especially appealing to boys, though (as a girl myself) I think girls will like it, it is about robots and it has some funny broken robot moments.
Overall a fun read - and I think it would be a great read-aloud in the classroom, discussion could be had about robots, difference, uniqueness - animal/robot rights. Creativity around the robots is also something I think that kids would enjoy.
At the Robot Zoo is a fun and creative look at a zoo of robot animals. It is so very clever and the illustrations are very fun too. All lovers of zoos and robots are going to get a kick out of this book. It is a rhyming book that flows beautifully. It is funny and inventive. I love all the ways that the writer kept true to animals being cared for in a zoo and twisted it to fit robot animals. It is really quite brilliant. I am already thinking of a whole new lesson plan on robots and animals for my Art Through Stories class. Boys and girls with adore taking this trip the zoo. It will be a fun and memorable experience for all because this book is perfect for a read-aloud. 5 stars
I am reviewing a PDF file of this picture book given to me by the author. This is a cute story of a robot "boy" who visits a zoo full of robot animals. It is written in rhyme and the illustrations are as cute as can be. I think this book will appeal to all young children and is trendy right now as robots are extremely popular. I stumbled in reading the first couple of pages as the cadence was unfamiliar and didn't quite flow for me. But after those 2 pages the book really took off. I think this story is quite original and will be a great addition to my zoo themed storytime.
At first I found it a bit disconcerting that The Robot Zoo had no punctuation to speak of, but I was quickly able to look passed that minor issue and thoroughly enjoy this imaginative story containing beautiful illustrations. The clever rhymes that describe each robot animal the little robot boy visits will be sure to delight parent and child alike, and I would recommend this book for youngsters between the ages of four and eight. Nice Work Mr. Tobias.
What a delightful book to read to children. This book teaches children that being different is quite Unique and the rhymes of each zoo animal is described to understand how the zookeeper cares for each animal. The Robot Boy is so amazed that he discovered the Robot Zoo, because the animals there at the zoo are just like him.
Animals made of cold steel and plastic make a heart warming adventure in this story. The illustrations are bright and sunny, and the story was funny. My five year old son said, "I liked it."
