*NOTE: THIS REVIEW HAS BEEN EDITED on Sept. 16, 2012. This story was originally reviewed under the title "Good Vibrations" and was published on April 24, 2012 as part of the Edge Series by Decadent Publishing. I have updated the links and book information, but the review remains the original review (title of book only change).
This is my second Edge story, and once again the short format delivers. For those not familiar, Decadent Publishing has a hot little series, The Edge, of unrelated (or in groups of related) short erotic stories. They are vignettes - views into a romance, but not the whole picture. The stories are not character or plot-driven, but rather snapshots of a few sexy moments.
Hot Buzz is the story of lonely Jerri who has pined for her roommate Krysta for 5 years. Fearful of becoming another notch on Krysta's bedpost, Jerri keeps her feelings hidden. That is until one night while out at a club and both women engage in some buzzed flirtation with other people. For some reason it is this night that the true colors show. They hungrily take one another in a night of passion and vibrators.
Hot Buzz gives us just enough insight into the longing Jerri has experienced over the years -- enough to give the reader reason to care and cheer for the couple. Jerri and Krysta are hot in bed, but getting there was a little annoying. The jealous almost "cat-fighting" isn’t my cup of tea, but it brought the two together for an erotic coupling - and that was most certainly enjoyable. And in the end, the reader is left with the notion that everything will work out nicely for these two. I like my happy endings! All-in-all Hot Buzz is an enjoyable, erotic read.
Hot Buzz is a seriously hot lesbian erotic romance story. It tells the story of Jerri, a young woman who struggles to sleep at night as all she can hear through the thin walls of her apartment is the buzzing of her roommate's vibrator and the resulting moans and cries. What makes the situation so unbearable is the fact that Jerri's been in love with Krysta for years and would much rather be the one between her sheets and teasing her into orgasmic bliss. But she hasn't had the guts to confess her feelings for Krysta and so both remain unaware of the pleasure that could be had if they got it together.
A night out with friends results in extreme jealousy on Jerri's part as Krysta snuggles up to another woman. An argument ensues, and Jerri finally gets the opportunity to show Krysta how much more satisfying sex is with a flesh and blood woman, rather than a battery operated toy.
This is a smokin' f/f tale with a realistic storyline and I look forward to more from KT. Recommended if you enjoy short lesbian erotica.
Jerri has been in love with her roommate Krysta for years but would never tell her for fear of ruining their friendship. When Krysta sees Jerri kissing a man in a bar she becomes jealous in KT Grant’s GOOD VIBRATIONS. Jerri leaves the bar when the woman with whom Krysta has been dancing all night lays claim to her in front of Jerri. Will Jerri and Krysta communicate their feelings for each other or will they stay quiet to save their friendship?
I like Jerri while Krysta remains more elusive. When they finally let the truth of their feelings out GOOD VIBRATIONS gives us some good, hot female/female loving. This is a quick read and worth your time.
K.T. Grant is my guilty pleasure; she's my go-to writer when I want dependable lesbian romance/erotica.
USUALLY.
Unfortunately, this story falls flat. It's just too short and doesn't really build up from anything. It doesn't even feel like a glimpse. It feels like a glimpse of a glimpse. Mostly all dirty, but not quite dirty enough.
Hard to describe, but when I came to the end I thought..."that's it?" Hphm!
Trying something new, and no, lesbian erotica doesn't quite work for me. This is still a competent piece of writing for anyone who gets excited reading about two girls and their dildos.
