This book is excellent. It's hot, it's well written, and the story is exciting.

Alison is a reporter looking for her big break. Mike Hallett tells her about a kinky club owner, Ralph Hancock, that's blackmailing several politicians. If she can get inside his club, discover his secrets, and expose his illegal practices she'll have the story of the year.

Alison is offended at first. She doesn't know anything about the kinky subculture and doesn't want to sleep her way to the story. But Mike convinces her to meet with an associate, a Dominatrix, and decide for herself afterward. So Alison agrees to meet with Mistress Marcia. During her initiation session with the mistress her situation takes an unexpected twist when Ralph Hancock shows up and offers to take her back to his home. Marcia and Alison realize what a great opportunity this is and Alison agrees to go with him. She only begins to understand how over her head she is when he takes her deep in to his world of unrestricted bizarre kink.

This book has some great bondage scenes and the writing takes the reader through every exciting feeling the characters experience. The kinks described are mostly bondage and spanking with some short interludes of heavy play. There are a few scenes of non-consensual play and the ending involves very illegal/non-consensual acts but that's what makes the book exciting.

I really enjoyed this one! Set in the late 1960's - Great Britain - Alison (Alley Katt) quickly discovers her true nature amidst the world of latex & leather and with the help of some rather instructive new friends delves headlong into a world she previously never new existed. Despite the danger that constantly surrounds Alley, at times during the story, she comes off more than just a little bit grateful for being in the predicaments she finds herself in. The author's use of character development throughout the rest of the book is done with equally good vigor. Particularly in the case of Mistress Marcia (Alley's inductress into her new world) and Melanie (Mistress Marcia's maid and slave). The book contained a great many scenes of the fetishistic and BDSM variety that were very HOT as well as some pony-girl scenes (although not until closer till the end). Some Charlie's Angels style action was thrown in for good measure and a reasonably happy ending had me rushing to read book 2: Chain Reaction. As far as book 1 is concerned, I give it a solid 4 Stars ****
