The Jesus Plan: Breaking Through Barriers to Introduce the People You Know to the God You Love

Rate this book
A radically refreshing and proven pattern for reaching those around you with the good news of Christ…join the adventure of reaching the lost in your world.

An expert in church growth and evangelism, Bruce Dreisbach reached a crushing dead-end when he realized that old-style efforts of evangelism were becoming increasingly ineffective. Out of his failure and frustration, God led him and others to launch a new ministry with priorities and approaches that varied radically from the traditional. Over time, this new paradigm has proven significantly successful in reaching lost souls in today’s culture.

After you read The Jesus Plan, you’ll never think of evangelism the same way again. You’ll be equipped and encouraged to reach out to the people around you effectively--and help them discover a new way to live eternally.

All these years, I *knew* something was and is wrong. Dreisbach shares how he and a few friends opened their hearts to Jesus and “cracked the code.”

he has a lot to say about what's wrong with current evangelism efforts, and the lack of training or interest in evangelism in today's churches. the most compelling image for me was when he said if one's church building burned down, the congregation would all be upset and get together to raise funds for a new building. but if one's congregation's evangelism efforts fizzled out, no one would much care. the emphasis of the modern church is building-centered, not evangelism centered. he calls for the creation of small groups for training in evangelism, and then the building of friendships with those outside the church. his most radical idea is to eschew church buildings as a whole, but just meet for worship corporately in a rented building about every 3 weeks.
