Alice Cunningham thinks she's inherited her Great Aunt's vacuum cleaner shop, instead she is sucked into a magical community and finds herself with some strange companions: a love-struck elf, a wisecracking thief and a mysterious woman in the body of a tiger.

Soon she meets the seductive titan-turned-pop star Alexie Ambrose, who seems to take a sudden interest in her. Alice must navigate the dangerous politics of his court and learn what motivates him without getting entangled in his spell, or worse.

This was another really good book by Erin Latimer, I liked it because it is a really good combination of magic and modern but it wasn't overwhelming. Alice is a really likable character.

This was a wonderful book with plenty of entertaining characters in it to make it a fun read. From the first chapter on it was a story I found hard to put down, though I started reading it on Wattpad.com in the beginning chapter by chapter as it was originally being written. When it came out in print and E-Book I jumped on the E-book and bought a copy of it then had to wait my turn to read it but was worth the wait. My daughter had my E-reader sewed up in another series of books at the time so I had to painfully wait my turn. When I started reading it I didn't stop till I was done which was early the next morning in time to take my daughter to work. LOL Great story I highly recommend it to anyone who loves the mystery of the witch and magic like I do. It was funny in all the right places. It was accurate as well when it had to be concerning witchcraft. The characters were magical and lighthearted to say the least. Some funny, some sad, some mean, some you grow to hate even. All in all it was a well rounded book well worth the money at any cost in my book.

This book has a lot of fun twists and turns that are completely unexpected. Fun characters and constant movement of the story keeps the story from becoming boring. This story is one that's hard to put down, and I highly recommend it for all readers.

The characters are beautifully flawed adding depth to the story with all the different personalities running around. Every character is unique and adds depth to the story.

The story seems very realistic. The details were enough to see everything and at the same time not get bogged down in details.

Erin Latimer did an excellent job creating and portraying her characters and her world.

Also, Erin Latimer's use of magic in the story is a very unique approach to magic. There are some slightly similar approaches in other stories, but they are still fairly different from her approach.

Entrancing.

How do you feel if you came to know that you have inherited a vacuum shop from a relative you have barely met? Hmmm...Surprised yet disappointed?

That's what Alice Cunningham felt when her great aunt left her vaccum cleaner shop until it turns into a shop that travels. Alice gets pulled into the world of magic where she gets befriended by a love-struck elf, a wisecracking thief and a mysterious woman in the body of a tiger. Soon the news of the new arrival of the travelling shop gets spread and Alice has to learn to control magic before it consumes her and survive a tangle with the half-mad Greek God dead set on sucking the life right out of her.

With quirky characters and colourful events, "threads" will tie you up with its magic and charm.

Love this book! Can't imagine how anyone could pass this book up, it is one of the most entertaining books I have read in long time, and most original to date. Other books are homage of various books with out imagination or originality...I won't name which ones because very few people have read as many books as I have. Terry Pratchett mentions the moving shops but it is in passing, here is what Terry has never spoken about, the inner workings and life of a shop owner. The book is as magical as the story it tells, full of humour pathos and adventure and there is even just a tad romance. A future classic if ever there was one, and one that can give Potter(aka Harry Potter series) a run for the money.

This book was surprisingly cute. It focused primarily on a girl named Alice, who found out she was a sorceress when her crazy Aunt Ruby died. At the beginning she was a very timid girl who recently graduated from High School and got dumped by her boyfriend. Through learning about the world of magic, she made friends, adversaries, and learned to stand up for herself. At points, Alice's transitions to becoming a more secure and sassy person seemed a touch abrupt, but I chalk this down to the many time gaps that occur throughout the book. Her character growth is amazing, and one of its strongest points for me was that romance was not the center of this book.

It's a cute, fun, fairly quick read, and you should give it a try!
