Et eventyr med drager, rumpirater, attentater, eksplosioner og forræderi - whats not to like!

Fed worldbuilding.

The Sail Weaver is a delightful, magical journey through space with talking dragons and assassination plots. Tristan, the protagonist and head of The Sail Weaver Guild, takes his first cruise out into space to see his sails at work. Woven with magic, these enormous sails enable ships to sail through the winds of space. People called Air Weavers will weave an atmosphere in case of emergency sail failure.

The Guild and Dragon Corps are closely linked and highly support each other, while the Navy is in opposition with them both. It creates a fair amount of great conflict throughout the book. Throw in pirates and vermin, and Tristan is kept very busy just trying to stay alive!

Superbly written with inspired prose and an intricate plot, Muffy Morrigan delivers a magical fantasy full of action, intrigue, and adventure. Thick with descriptions and expert world-building, it will keep you entertained for days.

My favorite quote:

"Leave it to Thom to just walk onboard like he owns the place and blow it up. And after I spent hours of scheming." The dragon sighed. "Hours and hours of quality scheming gone to waste."

I LOL'd. Seriously. Very Whedonesque, me thinks. Great stuff!

Couldn't decide between two or three stars.

I liked it, I was entertained. End.

The story kept me intrigued, and for once I got a YA without some silly romance stealing the spotlight from the actual story, and that is why I decided on 3 stars instead of two.

The characters were pretty one-dimensional though, so I never really was invested in what happened to them.

As for the writing it's difficult to say as I read the Danish translation, which was so-so. If that is due to the original text being so-so, or the translation itself being mediocre, I cannot say.

Alt for lidt karakterarbejde.

This is my personal review without spoilers of the actual plot.
This book is not for anyone! Moreover, I don’t say this, because it’s bad but for the simple fact that, this isn’t easy to read and it’s pardon my words Hardcore Fantasy. I’m not sure words can express what an impact this book made on me.
I didn’t think of skipping a single word thought out the whole book!
I had a bit of trouble getting started on the book. It was interesting and all, but the language took some getting used too, and to be honest I’m not sure I fully grasped it once I finished the book. It was a little confusing at times when they mentioned the time. A description of their usage of time can be found at the start of the book but in the end I decided that it didn’t change a whole lot to the plot whether you knew the time or not.
What really had me sold on this book are the characters for sure. It contains so many great individualities. I fell in love with the main character. His personality and moral code is truly admirable. It takes skill to form a character the reader can emphasize with on this level and I’m truly grateful for this reading experience. I like the fact that none of the characters is even remotely similar, they all contain their own strengths and weaknesses and I’m sure everyone will pick a character they identify with.
I feel that this book could easily become a series of books, because there’s so much more to continue with, the world the book revolves around is limitless, it’s infinite. Literally. The following book or books could become any genre the author wanted the possibilities are endless.
I’d recommend this in a heartbeat! If you like fantasy, sci-fi, and an awesome writing style this should be on your list of books to read.
This book receives five out of five

I need answers!

Super godt skrevet!

Stop the press!!!
Finally a book as good as the 2 3 of the book. 😱😻😳
Despite some flawes in the world building and it has a Harry Potter like magic system, it was a blast from beginning to end. 🤔🤓🐉

I bought this book and had it signed by the author at a local convention during Labor Day weekend. This book caught my eye as I was wandering throughout the convention and thought long and hard about buying it. In the end, I had to get it because the plot caught my attention when I heard about it. I regretted not reading this book within the first weeks instead of a few months later.

What I found intriguing is the combination of sci-fi and fantasy and magic verses science, with a small bit of steampunk feel. This story is set in the far future when humanity has damaged Earth to the point they now end up living in space stations throughout the solar system. Certain humans now have special magical powers and a species of aliens, dragons, have made themselves known to humans and have allied with them against another alien species. Humanity's spaceships are not like the spaceships of today and magic only will help them fly and fight against these vicious creatures.

This was a book that I had a hard time putting down. A unique story idea with great character development and storytelling by the author. I'll probably have to pick it up again in a few months to read it over again.

I'm not the biggest fan of sci-fi but I LOVE fantasy. And this was a REALLY good mix of sci-fi and fantasy. When I heard about this book, I think it sounded interesting combining the two genres but I was still doubtful about it. But this book was AMAZING! If only it had a sequel...T.T

This story was thoughtful, exciting, and very socially relevant. Two factions fighting the same enemy as well as each other is at the heart of "Sail Weaver" just as it is at the heart of our nation. Morrigan perfectly melds vastly differents genres, tall sailing ships designed for space guided by magic, in a way that feels natural. I was drawn in immediately and never let down as the characters are developed and plot unfolds. I absolutely LOVED Lokey Fenfyr and his relationship with Tristan. They are true heroes; the kind of characters missing from so much modern fiction that thinks to blur the line between right and wrong is the way to create drama. While the conclusion of the story was quite satisfying, I hope for many more tales of the Winged Victory and her Weaver.

Amazing! This book blends genre in a beautiful way, tumbling together science fiction, fantasy and tall ship/high seas adventure--with dragons. It is almost impossible to categorize this book. Muffy Morrigan manages to set up a massive universe with such effortless ease it draws the reader in immediately. Rather than relying on lengthy backstory, she dives straight in and explains the universe in the actions/dialogue of the characters. The style makes this book seem immediate and very real. It takes the best parts of many genres and turns out something new and exciting. I hope there is more in this universe very soon!!!

Wow, you will be drawn, no pulled into the vortex of space, sail weavers, dragons, and the mystery of battle, sabotage, and be ready to not want to stop reading nor want the story to end. Well, you will want it to unfold as you anxiously hit the next page. DO IT! Enter the world of awesome crafting, master sail weaving, ships flying defending your realm, dragons in their pompous, protected importance and feel the experience. I will not tell you more, you will find your own way, and you will love it!

Wow, wow, wow. LOVED this book. I love Dragons so it was an easy book to want to start. The whole preface of the book is fantastic and nothing I have read before. The story was great and needed a lot of back filling so we could understand it, this was done very well.
Would absolutely recommend this book to anyone who likes a little sci-fi, with adventure, mystery and a good old fashion fight scene (HUGE ONE) thrown in.

The Sail Weaver ranks as one of the best fantasy books I've ever read.

The action starts within the first 10 pages of the book and never lets up. With magic, dragons, sail ships in outer space, pirates, monsters and betrayal from unexpected quarters it's a romp from the word go.

I highly recommend it.

A very unique concept and a gripping story, I couldn't put it down towards the end. The only downside was the enormous lack of description. The scenes and characters are never described, making everything extremely difficult to imagine. You are just expected to know exactly what a space fairing magical ship looks like. Would've been 5 star if there'd been any descriptive language at all.

I LOVED IT. The combination of magic, dragons, ships and space adventure. The fact that the main character, Tristan, is an adult and that there is no romantic entanglement with any of the other characters, is a HUGE plus.
