The copy I have was my Grandmothers and it's the 1941 edition. She used to read me poems from this book as a child, and it's near and dear to my heart. As an adult, I forgot about it until recently when I took it out of the bookcase and read my old favourites to my son, and I'm so glad I did. One doesn't need to be an avid Poetry fan to appreciate good prose, even if only on occasion. This is a lovely collection from American, British, and Canadian poets, some classics and some never heard of, yet probably should have been. In a way, it's a homage to some of the beautiful vocabulary and language we've lost along the way, but it also gives us an opportunity to discover those hidden gems. Nary a LOL, OMG, or R U 4 REAL to be found. ;)
