I have a few quirks. Nothing too out there. Not really. I mean, yeah, I like to know everything about everyone around me. I tend to obsess over little things. Round foods freak me out. Social interactions give me hives. But, really, those are completely normal issues. Right?
My world is on lock, except for the part where I have to work for the government to stay out of maximum security prison. At least, everything *was* on lock until I’m tasked with getting to the bottom of Owen Caddel. He’s just part of my job. That’s all. Except … the moment I focus on him, I realize I want to know everything. Every last detail. He’s maddeningly fascinating, a puzzle I must solve.
I need to figure him out, and I’m just psycho enough to stalk him until I do. But here’s the thing … What happens when I begin to suspect he’s been stalking me all along?
MINK's It was the best of crazies, it was the worst of crazies. Cuddle up with this tale of two psychos, a cute kitty, and a cup of caffeine.
Maggie is stalking Owen (yes, it's the opposite of Mink's stories), but she's stalking due to a job. But it's funny to see the female main character to step in and make the first move.
Quickly, she becomes obsessed with Owen, and that makes her do some dangerous move, and entering his house.
Obviously, Mink has to make a plot twist, and Maggie becomes the prey, instead of the hunter…
My reviews always contain spoilers, I write them so I can remember the story.
This was a sweet and sexy who’s chasing whom story with a bit of damsel in distress. Maggie is a world class hacker she does work for the FBI, sometimes working with their best, Parks. Her contact at the FBI, Ms Duffy asks her to find a man, Owen Caddel. When Maggie looks into Owen she finds her next obsession, usually it’s cases and computers that obsess her, this time it’s a human, her human she decides. Maggie finds herself drawn to him and takes risks her bestie and fellow computer genius Ocean tries to help her with. The more time Maggie spends with Owen the more her need and attraction grows. Owen is retired special black ops, he was former CIA too. After an op goes bad and he has to eliminate his own team for doing the wrong thing he leaves everything behind. Now he uses his skills to help people. He knows all about obsessions, his obsession is Maggie. He has been aware of her the moment Duffy asked her to find him. Maggie isn’t very covert with her surveilling him but Owen is, he has had cameras in her home since he saw her. Even at the end of the book she isn’t able to find his cameras. Needing answers about why Duffy is interested in him she goes “psycho” and takes a sledgehammer to his wall to find his secrets. He’s not worried about the damage or her finding his secret room but of her hurting herself. He shows her all his secrets. After their sexy times he confesses everything. She tells him he’s a good man and she is trying to protect him from the FBI. She leaves his house when Ocean tells her Duffy is at her house. On the way home she is run off the road by Parks, he loves her and wants her for himself. Luckily Owen is tracking her and with Ocean’s help he finds her. Shots are exchanged and Parks is killed but Owen is injured. Epilogue with Owen still helping people in need, Maggie and Ocean still doing their thing, a daughter and another baby on the way.

I never had so much fun reading a novella, and this one really surprised me. As expected, the book was short and fast-paced, with 140+ pages.
But the characters had me laughing so hard with their ridiculousness. They were both OTT jealous, possessive, and obsessed with each other. I normally associate these traits with the book MMCs, but this was the first time I read a FMC who unashamedly possessed all these behaviors, which made me love her character so much more. If there's one line from the book that would describe them, it would be this: “Sounds like the two of you are psycho soul mates.”
If I thought heroes like this were crazy, Maggie was crazier, and I'm here for all of it. In the real world, her aggressive and territorial behavior towards Owen would likely turn off men. But Owen eats up everything about her and loves it even more when she goes feral over those women who openly flirt with him.
They were crazy psychos but perfectly suited for each other. And they worked so well as a couple and colleagues, considering both of their jobs were related. I liked their relationship even if it was insane, and both of them were totally unhinged. 😂
The epilogue was cute too, though it wasn't mentioned how many years had already passed.
This was the first book I read from this author (Mink), and I really enjoyed it. I'll definitely read some of her other works too. I liked the writing style, story flow, and her characters. Without a doubt worth reading ❤️
Mink always manages to make me laugh out loud along with sigh, because her leads are swoon worthy! I know going in I'm going to relate instantly to the female lead. They are likeable, their quirks and are engaging. They are real, not artificial.
The stories are engaging, and you are invested from start to finish.
I really enjoyed this one. Normally forward heroines tend to annoy me but there was something about Maggie‘s quirks that I found funny and charming instead of annoying. I was pleasantly surprised by that. I knew from the description that it was gonna turn out that Owen was kind of staking her but I really wasn’t prepared for the level with which she stalked her. Not to say that it’s wrong I love a good crazy hero stocker but I was just surprised.
I was kind of confused about how he first saw her, I wish that we got some more information on that. I also really wish we got more of Owens obsession and stocking. Just getting a glimpse of the room with her pictures everywhere wasn’t enough for me. So if there was more Owen being crazy and obsessive this probably would’ve been a five star read for me.
Muy tierna esa obsesión mutua✨️ El libro es cortito y consiso, y me gustó bastante la personalidad de los protas. ... Very cute that mutual obsession✨️ The book is super short and pithy, and I really liked the personality of the protagonists.
Sweet Psycho is truly a decadent indulgence! Most people might not like these unconventional stories, but I have to say that I have come to adore them. I like something out of the ordinary. It makes me think and imagine and that's when I am at my happiest. Romance stories can become stale, but thanks to Mink that is not true any longer. She is my hero!
Maggie and Owen are a very unique pair. It would seem that they are two very different people who couldn't possible work well together. THEN, you keep watching and you see some interesting things happen. Just when you get past a couple twists and turns, you have your mind completely blown! Nothing is truly ever what it seems in these amazing stories by Mink. She is wondrously sneaky amazingly devious to ensure we get our phenomenal happily ever after. Everyone deserves their own after all.
Run, don't walk, into this insanely magnificent and fun story. You will be glad you stayed, and your heart will release the sweetest sigh at how happiness is what we make of it and not how the world expects us to make it.
So much fun. The female character, Maggie, is a computer wiz with a Robin Hood personality. I enjoyed knowing about her complex skills on a keyboard in scenes filled with spy films vibes and a cute friendship with Ocean, another lovely outlaw.
Forced by circumstances and her own catlike curiosity, she embarks on a full-bodied stalking when she spies on Owen, a man with skills of his own. The scene at the café felt as if I'd been lurking there myself.
And then follows a series of moments when she becomes impossibly cute in her possessiveness on her subject while he shows charm, commitment and good manners in and out of bed.
Then, there's a plot twist thrown in there that shows how well matched this couple really is. It's crazy and fun and hot. It doesn't end there because friend and foe shakes things up even more with some action and drama, and finally a lovely epilogue. One of this author's most entertaining novellas. Loved it.
this was really fun, I didn't know I liked possessive heroines that much, in others books when the heroine get jealous it's always because the hero fucked up and there's some ow involved so I never found it funny or got to enjoy them being jealous of the hero, but here the heroine being possessive and jealous of everyone was so funny because he never gave her a reason to be, she was just possessive, she really stole the show, such a unique character, when she said that her name and his last name had a nice ring to it i lost it 😂😂😂 the hero was more chill but I never thought he wasn't crazy about her too at the end we get to know why he was the chill one in this lol
completely safe, no cheating, no manwhore, no ow drama, no pushing away, just a fun sexy read ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Some of my favorite books by MINK are her quirky, OTT, sweetly psycho heroines and heroes—and this one follows that winning formula. We got cats, we got an obsessive quirky heroine, we got some stalking. It’s all good here!
Safe. Hero’s past isn’t mentioned at all. Heroine is a virgin and belongs only to her hero. Small OM threat, small ow flirting to obtuse hero who has no idea, no cheating or sharing. HEA with epilogue and babies.
I love how Maggie kinda seemed like she was on the spectrum. She unapologetically jealous of anyone who talked to Owen. She was definitely the sweet psycho in my book. Owen seemed to love all her quirks and she loved him no matter his past. I never saw that ending coming, he was no sweet psycho but plain ol’ crazy
This was pretty damn good and I really liked the heroine. At first I wasn't sure, since she appeared to be the pursuer and that's usually not my jam...but she grew on me like a lovely fungus. That being said, since I'm not a fan of heroines being the ones to pursue the Hero, the sex scenes weren't as enjoyable as Mink's usually are. The stronger a presence the Hero has in the beginning, the more I enjoy the steamier parts later on. The Hero, while enjoyable, just didn't quite make the Alpha cut for me, even though he's almost as crazy as the heroine.
I also enjoyed the heroine's father vaguely loitering about in the background, just playing video games and supporting his daughter no matter what crazy shit she brings to the door (FBI).
***Spoilers below***
The only problem I actually had with this book is that after the heroine gets randomly kidnapped by that guy, it never gets addressed afterwards. When the Hero locates the heroine, the kidnapper is spouting shit about how she belongs to him, not the Hero. After a short bit of action and the Hero gets shot and blacks out, we're suddenly in the epilogue with absolutely no closure about what had just happened. I have no idea where that guy's obsession came from because it was never even hinted at. The closest thing I can call him without having to explain everything is a co-worker, but I don't think he even had any page time, so his sudden claim over the heroine literally came out of nowhere. I'm guessing this was put in for some last-minute drama, but it really wasn't needed.

⚜ Rate ★★✩✩✩ ⚜
English “Sweet Psycho” by Mink is a novella that is funny, romantic, and entertaining.
Maggie (Ace) is a brilliant hacker, as is Owen Caddel, but they are not on the same team. Maggie is recommended to investigate him and sets to work, not knowing that Owen is also doing the same with her.
Well, as a short story, it's okay. It was quick and necessary because there was a point at which I needed it to end. After all, it didn't have much of a plot. I didn't find it a little more engaging, but it was good. ⚜ Rate ★★✩✩✩ ⚜
I used to be all for insta loves but these recent stories just haven't been it from any of my once dearly cherished authors.
Since it's Mink, I always come back cuz I can't help it but this was just...okay.
Really exhausted with the whole 'clumsy yet adorable heroine' narrative here. No, miss thing, it is not endearing, funny, charming, different or special, it's supreme levels of cringe and it's getting old.
I loved the premise of this story but this needed the early publication Mink writing.
Maggie's new task has become her new obsession. She needs to know everything about Owen Caddel and if she has threaten to burn a few places down to keep him away from other women so be it. If only she knew that Owen has more secrets up his sleeve than she does. There is no reason for her to worry about him having eyes for anyone else when he's the original stalker in the relationship.
Maggie is tasked with finding everything out about Owen and she becomes instantly obsessed with him. She may be a sweet psycho but is she truly the stalker in this relationship? This is a wonderful read and I can't wait to read more from this author.
Sweet Psycho is the story of Maggie and Owen Caddel.
Tropes: Both are hackers and into illegal shit Both are obsessive and possessive Hot ass intelligent farm owner alpha hero Feisty and intelligent hacker heroine I think both of them were virgins idk but I think the h was. HEA and kid, Matilda and a boy on the way Insta love like full on obsession Plot twist was kinda confusing Ocean is pretty funny and sarcastic I love her enthusiasm and her friendship with Maggie.
So she is tasked with finding a dude by Duffy who is a woman (im jus clarifying cuz Duffy doesn’t sound like a woman’s name at least not to me) and Parks who are both FBI agents. Ocean and Maggie try to find him and they do with her hacking skills and Ocean’s spy skills. She sees that he goes to the coffee shop for coffee and follows him in to see the cashier trying to flirt wit him to it being on sided. Maggie is jealous and like orders coffee on the cashier like this bitch is possessive bro like obsessed. Then her car has problems and he helps her by taking her back to his and he fixes it and she tells him that her name is ROXANNE and then she eats and leaves satisfied but with no info. He’s at the pet store and a woman tries hitting on him but he’s like no and then he goes back home to her there and she’s like you talk to other women and I was like how do you know that. While she’s there, she got him a coffee maker so he doesn’t have to talk to any other women and to also check his home for any clues. Omg and then this is when she realises that she loves him and is obsessed and like how couldn’t she be in love when he cooks for her and gives her killer orgasms. Then she finds like a hidden basement in his home and tries to take it down and then he stops her from hurting her arm and tells her everything that he knew about the FBI agents and that they were onto him and that she was tasked with finding him and that the basement is filled with pictures of her and that he knew her before she knew him and that he’s obsessed wit her and this is too much for her but he like hotly seduces her and she tries to leave but gives in and he claims her. Then she has to go home and meet with Duffy and is side tracked by a car and it’s Parks and he’s obsessed with her and he’s like she’s mine and is holding her at gunpoint and then Owen arrives when he finds her car not moving and Ocean tells him that she’s been hit. She’s fine but Owen shoots Parks and then gets her up and they try to leave until he’s shot in the leg and then it ends and goes straight to the epilogue. But his background when he was special ops and had a hit on a hacker and killed him and then getting a hit on the woman and child of that hacker and having to kill him partners because they were innocent and then having to run away and change his name😭 like that was so sad. But I love Alfie and that damn squirrel. But in the end Owen was left alone by Duffy because of her agent nearly killing him and his wife.
HERO /HEROINE: Maggie is a great hacker and she spends her time doing the things that make her happy. Solving puzzles and stealing money from the elites to give to the poor. The cutest Robin Hood you'll ever see.
Owen has been off grid for years. Used to work Black ops and then things changed, he wanted to be better. Now he lives in the woods with his farm animals and his cat Alfie.
REPRESENTATION: Virgin Heroine
OVERALL THOUGHTS: Maggie was overall a great character. She was funny and blunt. Although the author never labeled her she's obviously different mentally. I'm thinking some OCD too. She's particularly with her food and her possessions. I love when Owen comes clean, we see that he has been following her for a while and he will go into her house and put everything in order for her. He loves everything about her.
WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE: I was sort of confused why Owen was needed by the government. How Parks fit into everything. I wanted to see a flashback of the first time Owen saw her, the times he stalked her.
FAVORITE QUOTES: “And you won’t. Ever.” She glances at the barn and then my garden. “I’d hate for all this pretty stuff to burn.” “Burn?” I pull her toward the porch. “Yes, I mean”—she clears her throat—“in like, you know, a lightning storm or a freak accident or something. Something unforeseeable that seems highly likely to happen if you were to invite another woman to spend the night.”
SAFETY
AGE: I'm not sure
SEXUAL HISTORY: Maggie is a virgin. There is no mention about Owen's past.
CONDOMS: Nope “I know everything about you,” he whispers into my ear. “You’re ovulating.”
TUMMY BUTTERFLIES: 🦋 3/ 5 sweet and not filthy.
PUSH/PULL: Not at all.
SEPARATION: No
CHEATING: No
OW (Other Woman)/OM (Other Man) drama: Parks ran Maggie off the road and kidnapped her.
SEX SCENE WITH OW/OM: No
POSSIBLE PET PEEVES/TRIGGERS: Kidnapping, stalking
psych s h e l v e s : funny he falls first instalove memorable moment neurodivergent obsessed ott ours possessive protective quirky cute fmc rich mcs sits her in his lap silly stalker romance virgin

Completely over the top, unhinged, spicy…and there’s a cat
Both of these MCs are freaking psychos for one another. They go OTT from almost minute one and it’s so much fun to read. In the real world, they’d be walking red flags. In fiction, they’re an absolute joy.
This is a typical MINK novella. Suspending reality is just plain necessary to enjoy it, but oh it’s such a great way to spend an hour-ish.
Do I recommend? If you want to vacate life before you go to bed by reading something kind of outrageous, but fun and smutty too…yes. Absolutely give this one a read. If you’re the kind of reader who needs more ‘meat and potatoes’ in your books…well, MINK (in general) may just not be for you. Because there’s no meat here…just some spicy gravy.
Four stars, I’m not sure on chili peppers cause my rating standards there are changing. Probably three, but take that with a grain of salt. I may end up re-reading this one…just for the fun.
I don’t know if Maggie was intentionally autistic-coded but it made her character so much more endearing in my eyes. As a neurodivergent baddie myself, I loved reading all her little idiosyncrasies. She is just a wacky bitch but that brand fits her so well.
And her relationship with the slightly more neurotypical Ocean, is a friendship we all deserve in life. If my besties aren’t bringing fire drones to rescue me, what the fuck are they doing?
I loved the match between Owen and Maggie. These two crazy kids deserve the world. They are truly OBSESSED with each other in a way that would worry an average couple but matches perfectly for them. Owen accepting all of Maggie’s quirks was like cat nip to me. Give me a semi-well-adjusted OC with their batshit, gremlin soulmate any time. I will pay you a ridiculous amount of money for that hot garbage.
Their HEA was beautiful and I want nothing but the best for them.
