Hirohiko Araki ( 荒木飛呂彦) is a Japanese manga artist. He left school before graduation from Miyagi University of Education.
He enjoys the baseball manga Kyojin No Hoshii (Star of the Giants); the video games Mario Kart and Bomberman; and likes Prince and other African-American singers, as well as jazz, rock, and rap.
I really love the fact that there's a stand called California King Bed. That's queen Rihanna right there! Also, what's going on with the Higashikatas? Can't wait to know more about this family. So far, so good.
Daiya Higashikata? we stan the girl is terrifying and her stand is wow. I don't know her motives and I hope we get more about her in the following volumes. Yasuho is the best and I love her.
some freaky stuff! - California King Bed stealing Josuke's memories is a very scary ability - the art is gorgeous though and the mystery is building!! love it!
Yasuho is cute, but Daiya likes Yes, so she wins for me. It's interesting to see Araki-sensei do fanservice with cleavage and panties because it's just not common in his earlier manga.
I feel mildly uncomfortable that JoJo has become "contemporary" enough with music references in Stand names, that we have a Stand named after a Rihanna song: [California King Bed]. Weirder still, its Sutando Tsukai is a prog rock fan, while there's little overlap between Yes and Rihanna. In fact, [Owner of a Lonely Heart] would be a great name for Daiya's Stand, since it's a pop song by a prog band, and the name kinda fits thematically. But thematic Stand names are never Araki's priority. Anyway, I guess in a way the Rihanna reference is kinda close enough to the Prince reference of [Soft & Wet] in terms of both being black pop, and my own bias is that I view Prince as more a legitimate "artist" than Rihanna....
Despite Daiya's boobs later in the volume, the peak here is actually every time Josuke tricks Yasuho into looking away so he can kick Ojiro.
[Fun Fun Fun] is probably my favorite Stand design of the few we've seen in this Part. I like California King Bed's doofy smile a lot, too.

This is more in line with what I was expecting in terms of the weird happenings in town and the mystery hiding beneath the surface. So far I'm enjoying the characters, but find the Higashikata family incredibly unnerving
The art is also very good for what you'd expect, and the stand in this part is awfully creative. I'm intrigued to keep reading

still a little lost on what soft and wet really does but look its fun as hell. i love his little star bubbles. and ... we get to meet the Higashikata Family (not my cute little part 4 family) SBR MENTION THO!!! but yeah this family has some fucking weirdos and another cool stand (wdym its named after a RIHANNA SONG) idk I'm REALLY vibing with this part so far. memory loss josuke is just kinda fun
After two volumes I can say that Jojo is still as unpredictable and colorful as usual (in the best of ways of course). It will be hard rereading this in any other version other than the colorized one. :)
I should rename my Spotify Chemical Brothers list to Jojo reading ambient. 🎙️💿

Something about this part is just not working for me so far. It might be a lack of connection to the characters, like I'm still trying to get a feel for them. The family setup seems intriguing, but the stand "battle" between Josuke and Daiya was mostly awkward and uncomfy.
California king bed isn't that impressive ...I mean what's so hard about getting a blind girl to step on ur shadow Loving the plot so far Josuke is a odd name but whatever
