Edward, the jeweller to the crown, is in deep trouble and he cannot tell the police. His terrible truth must be kept secret. But what is his motivation for calling Felicity? Does he really believe she is the only one who can help? Or are his motivations more personal and dark than he is letting on?
With her usual cast of supporting misfits, Felicity is going to see what she can do …
… but when she uncovers the truth, will she be able survive it?
Let's start this off with an invitation to get some FREE books. No, you didn't read that wrong, we are talking about multiple free books. I love giving away free books because once people delve into the fast-paced mystery thrills I write, they go on to buy lots more.
When I wrote my first novel, Paranormal Nonsense, I was a Captain in the British Army. I would love to pretend that I had one of those careers that has to be redacted and in general denied by the government and that I have had to change my name and continually move about because I am still on the watch list in several countries. In truth though, I started out as a mechanic. Not like Jason Statham, sneaking about as a contract killer, more like one of those greasy gits that charge you a fortune and keep your car for a week when all you went in for was a squeaky door hinge.
At school, I was mostly disinterested in every subject except creative writing, for which, at age ten, I won my first award. However, calling it my first award suggests that there have been more, which there have not. Accolades may come but, in the meantime, I am having a ball writing mystery stories and crime thrillers and will claim to have more than a hundred books forming an unruly queue in my head as they clamor to get out.
Now retired from the military, I live in the south-east corner of England with a pair of lazy sausage dogs. Surrounded by rolling hills, brooding castles, and vineyards, I doubt I will ever leave, the beer is just too good.
This was sooooo good, laugh out loud in places ( so be warned) . Felicity is implored to help Edward ,but is it in her remit? She after all is no sleuth, plus what he is asking isn’t even possible, to gain access to the Palace, how could she possibly pull this off? Encouraged to enlist the help of the undercover specialist in her arsenal and with her pets for surveillance she’s armed and a little out of her depth as she agrees . Lord have mercy. Meanwhile Ginny is being a right royal pain in the derrière, even Mindy has had enough and tells her mother some home truths. Mindy is excited to being going to the palace, she daydreams of selfies and the like, as if she’d be allowed anywhere near any Royal ? The evening before her Royal appointment, Felicity has a very ,very drunk foe at her door raising merry Hell , at the same time as a couple of unusual undercover visitors…. It’s all happening in this fast paced hilariously thought out masterpiece, the twists the plots ,the characters the circumstances, a marvellous refreshing fun literation you will not want to put down. It really is that good. Buster and Amber are a veritable hoot and their thoughts and actions on point. I received an advance copy of this book and my review is in my own words and voluntary
Through a foul deed Felicity is awarded the Roysl Wedding as their planner. Thrilled to be chosen she cannot wait to meet the bride and groom, but a friend visits her and begs her to help her find a sapphire that is missing from the crown that he was cleaning. He stated the Lord Chamberlain had stolen it, so with the help of the police Mindy is given a bug to place in the Lord Chamberlains room. Mindy is obsessed with him but she doesn’t know there is murder in his heart. Great read yet again by Steve Higgs. Wish I could give it more than 5 stars.
I've read the 6 books in the series and I can't wait to read the next one, unfortunately I have a long wait for it but if it's like these 6 then I will be very happy. The actual story is brilliant taking us around Buckingham Palace where Felicity Phillips goes to meet Prince Marcus and his fiancé so she can help them start planning their wedding. Amber and Buster will keep you laughing. If you love cats and dogs then these books are for you.
Felicity gets deeper into danger in this adventure. Danger from a VERY unexpected source! In fact her team, Mindy, Vince, Amber, & "Dun Dun Duh!" Buster are all in danger! This storyline keeps moving! No rest for the weary this time! I enjoyed the "change in scenery", both literally & in the plot! I can't wait to find out who Felicity's new business rival is, nor whether the Duke will stay true to form, or will Mindy save him from himself!
I should be upset with Steve Higgs. Bravo, Vince and Felicity at their finest. Why should I be upset with Steve? Well, finished this within 24 hours. Little got accomplished, no meals cooked, floors vacuumed, clothes folded. Can’t wait for the next Felicity adventure. Always, relaxing and laughter with Steve’s books.
Amber and Devil Dog save the show once again. Of course Felicity, Mindy, Vince, and Edward are essential in creating the near tragedy. I'm holding my breath to learn more about Lord Chamberland , and a about the wedding planner waiting insanely impatiently in the wings.
A cat (Amber) and Corgis (The deceased Queen's) have only one thing in common...!
When someone releases raw photos of a much younger rival of Felicity Philips, she is given the opportunity to plan the upcoming Royal Wedding of the King's third son and his Commoner Fiance'e. But the undercurrents of intrigue and deadly intent are roiling!!!
What an exciting story this was! Felicity is asked to help find a missing jewel from a very important crown. She and Mindy, along with Buster and Amber, visit the palace. From there, all heck busts loose. Treachery, mistaken blame, missing critters, it's an all around fun and easy read.
Truly, enjoyed this book and never saw the ending coming. Now I can’t wait for the next one love, Felicity and Mindy. I just can’t decide if I love Buster or Amber best I guess I will just have to be satisfied, loving both of them.
Always willing to help out a friend in need. This mystery has so many twists and turns it will surely keep you guessing. I loved the hijinks and interactions with the various pets. At some points they had me laughing to tears! Another banger of a story! Well done!
Buster and Amber running loose in Buckingham Palace! Mindy dating a Royal. Felicity planning a Royal wedding! Dear reader, sit down, have a cup of tea, and read on!!
The Felicity Phillips series hasn’t been my favourite from Steve Higgs but it’s really starting to grow on me. Chasing around Buck House, an unexpected villain, and teasers about future books, this book is fun from start to finish.
The best so far! Of this series, that is. She has my luck with men. Ha! They both do. Get Rex and Bull and Dozer plus their crews and Patricia Fisher needs to come in to help, as well. What a wedding!
Highs weaves a sneaky trail. He introduces minor characters who hold all kinds of surprises. Lots of twists and good humor throughout. All in all another fun cozy mystery.
Wow, you got me on this one Steve! I really did jump to conclusions too fast! Keep the series going I hope I too will get to be a better sleuth along with Felicity! LOL!!
Big fan of Steve Higgs! His books have kept me glued my kindle since Thanksgiving as I read boxes sets and the occasional stand alone book. Entertaining reading with likeable characters and fun plot lines! I like Felicity 's adventures!
What got stolen but did it get stolen? Her heart maybe?
This was a mixed mystery from the beginning! How was the "bad" guy? And who was really good. So at least the dog and cat got into the Palace to cause some additional problems. Still did not expect what happened with the 2 main men in Felicity's life.
Another fabulous mystery by Steve Higgs. I love that there is humor and lots of suspense and twists. The pets and their ability to talk and argue with each other and Felicity is hysterical. The Felicity Phillips series is delightful.
The plot thickens as the Royal wedding approaches. With surprise twists in this book you might come to the conclusion that Felicity needs to reinvent her social circle.
Another cute story in the series where Felicty is called to the palace to investigate the theft of a jewel with her sort of boyfriend Vince. She also brings her pets with her and of course they steal the show. Plus her niece is "in love" with a prince. Mayhem and hi jinks abound. Fun story.
