Humans have lived for thousands of years, re-telling stories of good triumphing evil, Angels versus Demons. But the reality is far more complicated than they were led to believe. And the truth, far more frightening.
Since the death of her Mother, three years ago, Aurora lived most of her life alone. Hopelessly in love with her childhood friend, she wandered aimlessly, lonely and insecure.
Until the day of her nineteenth birthday when everything took a surprising turn. She encountered the dark and mysterious Gabriel. In one night, he changed her world forever, forcing her to accept her past and face an uncertain future. Will she find the courage to do what's right?
I wish I could give half stars for this one. I really enjoyed it, but the fact that it wasn't a complete story kind of threw me off. I will be getting the next one though.
The fact I read this book a couple of weeks ago and cant really remember what happened speaks volumes of how un-remarkable it is. Although I did finish it so it can't have been that bad.
This book is a hidden gem. The story is gripping, compelling and totally relatable to the reader. I love this genre of book anyway, but as a paranormal fantasy enthusiast I thought Ms Hamood delivers an extremely well executed and written story and I couldn't put it down from start to finish. I very much look forward to book 2.
Overall it was OK. I don't know, I read this book to have something to read. The writing seemed rushed. The situations described how the reader should feel, instead of letting the reader figure it out for themselves. The story in and of itself was good, just not my type of writing style I guess. Quite a cliffhanger ending though!
