DUTCH AND GINA When Walter “Dutch” Harber, the President of the United States, is caught in a compromising situation in a San Francisco hotel room that leads to deadly consequences, the Washington press takes matters into their own hands with rumors and allegations that could bring down his presidency. But when Gina, his African-American wife, is dragged in by powerful forces they didn’t see coming, it is Dutch who takes matters into his own hands to protect his wife and preserve her good name. In the fifth installment of The President’s Girlfriend series, Dutch and Gina endure twin catastrophes that seek to tear the very foundation of their love apart, and that calls into question everything about their love, their friends, and themselves..

okay, first of all, WHO IS THE HOT GUY ON THE COVER? in my mind i think this is what dutch must look like. lol!
this is a great book - this is a great series. the love between dutch and gina is just exemplary. that couple knows how to interact and BE a couple. gina is so precious to dutch. anyway, can't wait for the next book. may the series never end. so many interracial romances have less story and more erotica and its a shame. this series has stories that not only pack a punch, but elevate the whole genre to another level. thank you miss Monroe! keep 'em coming - and don't take too long! lol!
oh and one thing I can say is that I was surprised by the reaction of both Dutch and Gina regarding what happened to her. for Dutch, I was surprised that he would not take his wife to a private place to reveal it to her given the very personal, traumatic, and sensitive nature of it. for Gina, I expected a more traumatized reaction from her. so their whole reaction and interaction, both of them, was odd to me. but then Dutch avenges her, and her response to his "taking care of her" was just another reason that I love this couple.
This one started off with a bang but again Dutch was given an easy way out, that took a bit away from the drama that could've been. It's getting a bit repetitive though with them falling for some of the same type of problems. You'd think the family would have eyes and ears on them at all times when away from the white house at this point.
The fact that Rand was on speakerphone talking his business was a bit far fetched. I didn't like how the situation with Gina was handled either. She was used and they seemed to get off pretty easy. I was hoping for some good old fashion torture to take place, not sure what happened with Caroline either but if that's what she got, then these guys should've gotten nothing but the best.
I can see Jade becoming a real problem in the series but I'm hoping it's not turning into some incess type stuff with her. LaLa was coming off as a bit too desperate for me and it was really starting to bug me, hopefully she'll have some drama but nothing to do with Crader, maybe Demps will show up. Gina really took the cake for me in this one though, she was sooooo whiny it was times I wanted to just stop reading. Seems like her character is being setup to look like she's always going against something Dutch says and it bites her in the ass. She could catch on so quickly with Rand but not see a problem is not something I'd think a lawyer would fall for.
For them to come out of a similar situation and her to question Liz's location to only do something that risky was a let down for this one. Even after what happened with Jade, Gina should've at the very least had an agent with eyes on her, I mean we've seen that before in this series. I really hate when the bad guys tell all their plans though. The plan itself was already dumb but for Rand to react to Dutch's visit the way he did really made no sense. I was hoping for something a bit more believable. Good but could've been better.
Lots of intense drama, no holds barred alpha male willing to protect his family at all costs and annoying heroines. Gina doesn't use common sense. She makes poor decisions because she feels Dutch is too controlling and risks everything. Jade is switching the script all of a sudden and out of the blue she has an issue with Gina, but we are never told what, even after Gina has been nothing but accepting and loving towards her. La La was the ultimate annoying female. You either are wiling to take back the man you obviously love or let him go. Two very simple choices she couldn't seem to make. I hate whiny women and she was the biggest culprit. I also found it disturbing that Gina would want to have sex with Dutch so soon after what happened. In a lot of these books they just have sex for no apparent reason and to be honest, each scene is the same and extremely boring and the author uses awkward words to describe sex. Sex scenes are supposed to move the story forward but not in this case. And Someone please, for the love of God, call an editor. What the hell is a vanilla envelope? Do they have chocolate too? Grammar -spelling - it's all a mess. Although my review is mostly negative, I'm giving this book three stars because of Dutch. Without him, this series would flop.
I so loved this book and had been waiting. I stayed up all night reading this book the best 4 hour in my day lol. I hope she come out with more of Dutch and Gina, I need my fix soon.
These power-hungry people came after not only the president but the first lady. Poor Liz! Too bad she could not realize early on in her life that sleeping around with anybody was not the way to get a lasting relationship. It got what she wanted career-wise but not personal-wise. She was forty with no husband and no children, something she desperately wanted but realized the error of her ways TOO late. No man brings a slut home to meet his parents. I still don't understand why Dutch liked her so much. I guess it's that birds of a feather flock together. But one thing that Dutch realized when he first met Gina was that she had that something that he needed in his life and now that he had her, he was not willing to risk losing her now that he had her. Gina was his and he was Gina's. In Dutch's eyes, Gina was EVERYTHING , his everything. That was why he'd spent the next ten years searching for that same connection he felt with her with other women. When she came back into his life, that was it.
These same power-hungry people brutally hurt his Gina. They had the nerve of being prideful about what they did, especially Robert Rand, he was disgusting. But they underestimated Dutch's reaction to what they did. They did not understand that when you hurt someone that Dutch loves, all holy hell will break loose and all holy hell did on Robert Rand, the V.P and Speaker of the House. Their future political plans were thoroughly destroyed by the person they so wanted to destroy. Dutch got his retribution. Dutch would not tolerate any disrespect of the First Lady, no matter who they were. Dutch hated to use unsavory methods to kill the cancer that wanted to destroy him and the people he loves. Everytime he did, a significant part of him died too.
It seems as though Crader McKenzie is getting his act together. For the first time in a long time, LaLa feels loved. Dutch had a long and honest talk with both of them separately. He told LaLa that Crader was still a fallible man, a flawed man, but a good man and he told Crader that he, Crader had to work on being faithful even though there was temptation all around them. He had to learn how to control his appetite.
Dutch and Gina had a BIG blow-up in this story. Even though they did, when they do, it's always unsettling and off-putting to them. They have to right that blow-up, the only way they know how to connect with each other and let the other know there is still love there between them.
I loved this story and hated that Gina was so violated. My heart hurt for Liz and I wanted to kill Robert Rand. My heart went out to Crader and LaLa. For the first time, Crader is opening up to her. This entire series has been wonderful to read.
Completely amazing story of lover who as so became friends for life. I had been looking at this book for a while and decide to give it a try and I loved this story. What I hate about this book is that it ended. I hoped that they had another baby, because little Walt is amazing child. Lala and Crader seem like they can be an incredible couple 💑 , Christian deserve to have an incredible partner for life. The story seems incomplete???🔐🔓💒💒💒💒🌈⛅

Ms. Monroe delivered once again with this book. Dutch warned those miscreants Jed and Shelly not to mess with wife. He really took care of business in this book when they dared to cross the line. I love when Dutch's other side comes out to protect those he loves. On to book 6 in my annual reread of this series.
Dutch kept telling them not to mess with his wife! They just won't listen. I think NOW, they are able to hear him loud and clear. They truly NOW, understand. Wow!!
DUTCH IS GANSTA!!!!! This was all about the love of DUTCH & GINA. The situations they were put in and its outcome only strengthened their love for each other. I am still waiting for that DAMN MAX to get his comeuppance. He is still quietly slinking around.
You delivered again. Every book gets better. I started reading Dutch and Gina when I finished all the other series and because they appeared in Tommy's book. I am no disappointed. I am enraptured.
Another good read, a little disappointed that having developed Ginas character so well that given her position and experience that she made such a rookie move? Still enjoying the ride.
The story of Dutch and Gina's struggles is always incredible, but this story had me feeling so sad for them both. In the end their love for each other always wins out!
This book was really good, but I wish the women were a bit stronger. This notion of men being in charge is annoying to say the least. But I can truly say I love it.
I had heard some much about this series and I was afraid to read it just in case I did not like it because I really enjoy this author. However, I loved it and read all the books back to back.
Another great series which I enjoyed very much. I would highly recommend it.
Lala and her man totally did my head in though and I think it takes a special kind of woman to stand by this particular man!!!!
I loved this particular book in the series! The love between Gina and Dutch you can feel just by reading the book. The feeling is what daydreams are made of.
other than the first one that got me stated this was the best one yet. hope she keeps the series going. a lot of people are invested in this couple. i would love to see this on television. maybe HBO or SHOWTIME. this could be an ongoing series. with the right actors this show could have a huge following. even if some people did not like the interacial thing, it would at least start a dialogue. a man who loves and cares about his wife and family and remains faithful is a wonderful thing and up until now Gina has been the one to put up with Dutch and all his female troubles, but what if Roman Wilkes were to decide to go after Gina after they left the white house and became regular folks. he could want her to go into his law practice with him. which could put them in close proximity to each other all the time. could you imagine how dutch would react?
This is hands down my favorite book of the series. We all know Dutch loves Gina immensely, but what he did for her in this book was hands down the best way a man can protect his woman. The Power of Love really fits this installment of the series, because Dutch and Gina's love really brought them through the tough times. I so love Lala and Crater together. I'm glad they finally got their act together because they were clearly soul mates. I think the series could end here because everything has been wrapped up nicely, but since Dutch has another term I'm guessing there will be another book. I just hope it lives up to the hype of this one.
This installment is so silly and outlandish that it's off the chart. Gina acts like an idiot in this story, just too stupid to be alive. As an attorney, she could have thought about more intelligent ways to put pressure on a governor to consider releasing her brother. The story is just ruined for me.
Dutch, Dutch, Dutch! OMG he is such an Alpha Male. I really love him. He is the best, and this book is the best in the series. LOVE THIS SERIES. LOVE THIS AUTHOR.
