I read Unplugged awhile back and never wrote a review for it. I was going through some of my lists of books on here and when I saw the low stars given to this wonderful memoir I had to write my two cents. Unplugged is a memoir of a woman and her family who leave a life in the city to live their lives in the country. Not only is it motivating and helpful for those who have a dream of moving to the country and living self-reliantly, but the author's sense of humor is great. I found myself laughing out loud many times as I read the author's experiences. I found no typos in my reading of Unplugged and I consider it an awesome memoir!

I don’t remember how I came across this title on Amazon, but it sounded interesting – the tale of a woman who gives up her home and career in Atlanta to live a simpler life in Tennessee. Unfortunately, the book was nothing more than a collection of very short, disjointed chapters, with lots of errors, which did little to actually tell a complete story but rather just give a glimpse of a few impressions.

There were times when this book read like a rough draft of a book I would love. The rough draft part could be frustrating, but the book I would love part made it worth it. I'd love to see a newer edition with more details filled in.

Poorly edited, unfortunately. Otherwise an interesting, but short, tale of moving from suburban Atlanta to backwoods Tennessee. One of the reviews on Amazon says it reads like a rough draft of a book the reviewer would enjoy. That sounds about right.

A good story in search of a good storyteller.

This could be a funny and fascinating look into the author's move from suburbia to the country, but the writing is choppy, the chapters are bizarrely short, the grammatical errors are irritating, and many important things were left unexplained.

Good book but short on the details. It jumped too fast from building a cabin to built with no details. Would have loved to hear more of the how they did the life change and the experience.

Fun read

I would highly recommend anyone thinking of unplugging to read this. I loved how real the author was and her great humor. I laughed several times reading this book.
