this collection is a great representation of the "joy of narration" - though maybe a bit overdone at times
Kufor na sny consists of over 30 short or even shorter stories that vary in topic, setting, language, basically evoking the concept of "scenes from a hat", not unlike István Örkény's "one minute stories" (the English translation of the title of Dušek's book would be something like "Briefcase for dreams"). some of those relay an emotion, some are just a funny anecdote, some do not make any lasting impression at all.
it is really easy to get overwhelmed by the overall amount of stories, so I think the texts are best read while keeping in mind that there indeed is something that connects them - the aforementioned joy of narration, joy of simply coming up with something that can be perceived as a story. therefore, the most interesting parts of Kufor na sny are those moments, in which narration weaves into itself (writing about writing).
there are a couple of autonomous texts as well, most notably Prímerie - a story representing a whole genre of Slovak cinema or Rýchlik - a variation of Karel Čapek's novel Obyčejný život.
overall a nice read while dosed properly, but nothing too extraordinary
