She Wants Her

Rate this book
Getting women into her bed is easy. Getting them out is hard. Women love Cleopatra Giovanni and she loves them back – in ways they’ll never forget. The masculine but very pretty butch radiates charisma and a magnetism that attracts flocks of women – some are random strangers, and some show up because they’ve heard of her infamous skills as a lover (and her “snake”). But those single-minded women are short-term. Cleopatra enjoys their bodies, all the while hoping that the one who will make her believe in forever will come along. The womanizing ways of this successful New York City real estate executive come to a sudden halt the moment she meets the incredibly gorgeous Jacqueline Tripp. Jacqueline, a naïve but determined closeted lesbian, has been watching Cleopatra for some time, and goes above and beyond to possess her in a way no one ever has. Theirs is a passionate love affair, and life is beautiful as they pleasure each other in ways both wild and sweet. No one has ever had such power over Cleopatra. In the clutches of this beautiful liar, will she be conquered by obsessive love? Secrets, reckless ways, ghosts of the past, deceptions, and destroyed dreams complicate their love and lead Cleopatra back to old behaviors that feed her desire, but will never make her happy. Ultimately – Jacqueline wants her. The question is – how far will she go? Accompanied by a captivating cast of characters ranging from loving family members around the Thanksgiving table to famous porn stars in the bedroom, from best friends and ex-lovers to Brooklyn strippers and African princesses, the struggle for love and the drama and humor that ensue will win readers’ hearts as Cleopatra and Jacqueline wrestle with the way things are in order to create the way things should be.

This book gives anyone a great look into obsessive love. If you've never experienced it, you won't believe some of the actions taken by the characters in this book. If you have, you will understand completely and be impressed by the author's ability to tell this amazing story so realistically. One reviewer made a remark that no one would ever do some of the things the women in this book did. Yes, yes they would. Obsessive love turns off the part of your brain the makes common sense decisions possible. No way Cleo should have forgiven Jac, and yet, we know that she's helpless to it. No way Jac should have lied, but we know the crazy things you'll do when you fear losing love like that.

It took me a while to get into this book, the first half of it dragged along for me. Maybe it was just an adjustment period while i got used to the characters and the environment which was different from the yuppie vanilla books i'm used to reading. But about the halfway mark, i couldn't stop reading. Is Cleo going to forgive her, Is Jac going to tell the truth, are they going to be able to move on, who is the mysterious sugar-momma and is she going to want cleo back...? Once you get into the book, even if it takes a while, you wont be able to put it down until you get the answers to those questions and more.

The author mastered these characters. You didn't even have to see their name to know who was speaking. And she mastered the passion and craziness of obsession. I loved the book by the end and i hope there is a sequel.

I know that some of the reviewers stated that the story was somehow unbelievable, but I have to strongly disagree. Some said it was an unhealthy obsessive relationship, and agree with that to a certain extent. The way I viewed the relationship of Cleopatra and Jacqueline was as a very intense and a very deep love at first sight kind of love. The connection on Jacqueline's part came prior to the first meeting and Cleopatra's came at the first meeting. It is a story of first true love and all the mistakes we can make when we first find it. I agree that the way Jacqueline went about it could be viewed as unbelievable, but there are many people who have chosen a relationship over their children. I can't say that Jacqueline is one of them. I completely fell in love with both of these characters and was jealous of their completely hot and erotic sex life lol. Miller is a great writer and the book was easy to read and follow. I hope we get to see more of these characters and I hope we get to see more from Miller in general....enjoy I sure did.

a very good book. the first book i have ever read about lesbian love and i was not dissapointed. A book that talks about love, commitment, fears, and forgiveness, not to mention a little drama. THe only reason why i didn't give it five stars because i think she brought drama there deliberately. Maybe it's my beliefs, but i don't think a woman would leave their kids behind for love and i don't think that anyone would forgive anyone from the secrets that the Jacqueline had kept from Cleopatra. That's just my beliefs. Not saying its not true, but i just don't believe it.

This book is a rare find indeed. Most of the books about lesbian relationships do not go into depth as this book did. I could not stop reading this book from the moment I got it, to the final chapter. This book was so GOOD that I used a sick day from work so that I could finish it. I am waiting anxiously for the next book because I know Cleopatra and Jacqueline story is only the beginning. So glad Cleopatra did not stay with Kenya because that girl was a psycho!! For anyone thinking about getting this book, mark my words, you WILL NOT regret it.

i thought it was pretty good. sex scenes were great. I just got a lil confused with the her and she's. had a bit of a hard time keeping track of which girl was saying or doing what at certain times. I liked the story line though, and the charcters were great. not one of the bests, but it was good. i'd recommend it.

Where do I begin... When I first bought this book, I didn't think I would have liked it that much. I should say love it. I've read the book twice already, but decided to leave a review.

Here are some things that stood out to me in this first installment.
Cleopatras's character stood out to me, she comes off as perfect at first but later in the book you see that she isn't. Her character does make me wonder if there are people like her in real life, and if so dammm lol

The writing was really descriptive and I enjoyed that, when I read I want to be able to feel the person, people are sitting next to me or right in front of me when a character feels something or even eats I want to feel like I'm eating it, and I must say whilst I read this I felt like I was right there with the character especially the intimate scenes, even that I felt like I was there in the bed with them.

The relationship between Cleo and Jaq really stood out to me, because it was so passionate and raw. It felt like both characters were waiting for each other- some may call it a soul mate. I felt the love between them, the intensity was apparent throughout the whole entire book. I was cheering for them from the beginning till the end, from the time Jaq set her eyes on Cleo I knew it was game over. She really went hard for her woman. I know that type of love is not in the majority, and that's why reading about it resonated with me as a hopeless romantic.

The love scenes, I really appreciated how detailed and sexy it was. I know the book is erotica, but in this book, I did feel like I was there watching these characters make love. it was sensual, sexy, and erotic. every action of the characters made me feel like I was on fire. My skin felt hot everywhere and then some. it was really well done.

The drama- there was tons of it. every time I turned the page I was holding my breath because I knew something was about to go down. I loved the twist, especially when it came to Jacqueline's character. I didn't expect all that to be revealed.

Sense of Humor- This book had tons of it, It had me cackling throughout- more so from Cleopatra's best friend Shawn.

Finally, I appreciated the theme of family, and what family can mean to someone. It was interesting to see how all the characters in the book related to family, and all of the ins and out's that came with it. In the end, everyone is just looking for someone to be close to, whether it be for love, friendship, or family.

I truly loved this book and has easily become one of my favorites of all time.

You ever fall in love with a character and envision yourself in a relationship with them while reading? I blame? No? I blame @browngirlbookgeek for this madness because “She Wants Her” had me in a chokehold for two days!! I would definitely classify this book as instalove because Cleopatra and Jacqueline fall hard and have a whirlwind relationship that burns up the pages. The beginning started off slow, but I was already enamored with Cleo so I pushed through. I fell completely in love with this couple, their intense love, and their constant need to be with each other. The author didn’t shy away from writing hot, sexy and detailed love scenes that screamed “personal experience” in my opinion LOL!! This couple GOT IT IN and my boo Cleo ain’t afraid to “get the strap”.
As I continued to read, Jacqueline got on my nerves. Her inability to be honest bothered me all through this book. I get not wanting to be judged, but certain details of your life shouldn’t be a secret! I just don’t trust her! This story is one rollercoaster ride that left me confused due to the disjointed writing style, but I couldn’t put this book down. If you’re looking for a story about love, commitment, drama, family and friendship, pick this up

This book was really well written! If you’re looking for a sapphic romance about two black women falling in love it’s the one for you! I truly enjoyed seeing Jacqueline and Cleo grow together and this is a literal adult romance. There will be no immatureness and toxic mess from the characters for the most part. There’s a bit of toxic traits but nothing too bad. Both characters were very mature about everything they went through and had good communication skills for the most part. It’s something I love seeing and strive for in my writing myself. Have two adults having adult conversations and being able to communicate with one another. Sure there were misunderstandings here and there and some hypocritical things going on with cleao(she was a bit more immature than jaquline with the way she went about doing things at times. To me at least.) over all the characters handled each other with great care and with maturity. I love seeing this in writing!

A good read

This was an interesting read. The author kept me engaged with the characters and plot twists throughout. The on and off romance of the main characters stretched a bit long. Overall a good read.

Great book. Just enough drama to keep you guessing and love outweighed everything that could have changed their lives. Keep up the good work!

This wasn't a page turner for me BUT it still kept me interested. I have split feelings for every character in this book i'd start off liking them then they'd flip on me lol. It seems that everyone was a bit crazy but to me that made them real people because no one is perfect which brings me to Cleo who didn't seemed flawed at all. I have to agree with the other readers that nobody is that irresistable. I would have at least liked to see her get rejected once and I probably would have connected with her more. On the other hand she did have her issues with commitment and not really having family, but she seemed to be a good person with a great heart even when she was breaking hearts constantly. The title is everything this books is. "She wants her" everybody wanted somebody in this book. The scenes with Shawn and Cleo were hilarious. I have to be honest and say I wasn't routing for Cleo and Jac because although they "loved" each other it seemed based more or sex than anything else. I would have like to seen more romance between them. I didn't fall in love with them as a couple until I got close to the end where Jac walks in on Cleo crying over her mother. They had me from there. I felt their connection. Oh, and they way they met (and the dialougue) was so cheesy, but soooooo cute at the same time. I'm a sucker for that kind of stuff. There are some parts where I was a bit confused with the dialogue and the she's and hers, even a few name errors, but I figured it out. The timelines moved really quickly without warning, which made the transitioning kind of rough. I was like wait its been two years?! lol I really hope there is another part to this book because I still have many questions with the way that it ended, but all in all I really enjoyed it. For a first time publication this was really good. I'd read more from this author!

I loved the overall storyline of this book. It was very interesting and and funny at times, and the characters threw me for a loop because of them were just a little too much for me. I give Mrs. Miller her props for writing this book about this same sex couple finding their way to and around each other. Lesson to be learned, no matter how hard you try.. if it's meant to be, you might as well not fight it. you'll only be prolonging and stealing away your own happiness. No matter if your gay, straight, bisexual, skinny, fat, fun size, or tall love who you are for you, because at the end of the day people are going to see you for how you see yourself so love yourself first, and make the choices that will ultimately make you happy. I loved this and am about to start part two so, read it if you haven't.

This book was okay. I found the characters to be a little over the top, and the plot was a little predictable. But it was interesting enough to keep my attention.
