It took one single moment for Claire to leave her abusive marriage, she had reasoned all the reasons she couldn't leave, but never the reason she could. For her birthday Claire visits a friend in Los Angeles, for the first time in a long time she feels free, a new person ready to venture into the world. Not expecting to attend a big Hollywood premiere, Claire only takes a second for an embarrassing moment of crashing into Hollywood’s hottest new star Josh Wiley.

Josh is entranced by the woman in front of him, her carefree nature and ability to be honest about what she is thinking is refreshingly new. As one special night leaves them both finding something precious, they both venture into seeing what it might become, but Claire’s past has left her with some emotional scars and issues with trusting another, but Josh is not one to be deterred by the woman who has captured his body and soul.

I have always thought of a movie as a means of escape, to immerse myself totally into the scenery and characters, the unexpected surprises, laughter, and tears it contains, this story captures this essence well. I thought it was a magical story and cannot wait to read more from this talented author.

Wow. This is what came to mind, after I finished Sasha Summer's beautiful story. I want to mention first that I love to connect with the characters, and see how they can be relatable to the readers, and to me there were relatable issues here. I definitely felt for Claire. She has been through a lot in her only thirty-five years of living. She has two wonderful children, an abusive ex-husband who just can't seem to let go of Claire, nor his family; but then there is the movie star, Josh Wiley. Oh, well he was wonderfully written, and if I might add, with a British Accent? Yes, Please. I was hooked into the story from the part when he and Claire meet each other, or rather Claire accidentally almost trips on the red carpet, and Josh quickly comes to her aide, like he does in the rest of the story. (Happy Sigh) This was just a feel good story to me, and it mostly takes place in L.A. and England, which I absolutely loved! Summers is just a wonderful writer, and so descriptive with everything really. To me, nothing seemed out of place; everything felt real, especially the romance between Claire and Josh. Their romance is one not to miss! Also, I loved that he and her best friend Shannon encouraged her to a talent that she seems to possess, writing. Towards the end, I did feel emotional, but there could also be some sort hint of hope; you just have to read this story for yourself to see what happens. This was just a great story, and I'm so happy to have read it. Summers, as I said, is a fantastic writer, and if you have not read her work yet, you definitely should! :)

Only in Hollywood…

…could a story like this happen, that and in novels, which is just fine by me. A thirty-five year old, mother of two, heads off to L.A. to visit her close friend. She attends a Hollywood movie premier, almost trips, but who catches her before she falls? Only the new Hollywood “it” boy. Paparazzi cameras flashing, but Josh and Claire were in their own world. Just like that, they were smitten. Instant love, indeed.

Claire is a survivor. Recently divorced from her ex-husband, Daniel, she finds herself in a sort of limbo. Physically, she’s fine, now, but emotionally, her husband’s cruel words still haunt her. But when Josh enters her life, her world is about to change dramatically.

”Be right back.” Josh kissed my hand as I sat, and then went to join the other musicians setting up.
Victor spoke without opening his eyes. “I thought so.”
I jumped a little. I thought he was asleep. “Excuse me?”
“I could tell on the carpet he had his eye on you. He’s been hanging on your every word.”

Josh is twenty eight years old and Hollywood’s newest “it” boy. His movies are instant blockbusters. It was easy to fall for Josh. He’s gorgeous, charming, sweet and British. Gahh! I love everything British, especially British men. I think I say that everytime a Brit comes along in the stories I read. Can’t help it. I just LOVE ‘em. Anyway, I digress. So Josh is instantly intrigued by Claire and vise versa. She hasn’t felt these types of butterflies in her stomach in a long time, but she’s hesitant. It’s clear her insecurities were caused by Daniel and I was disturbed at how he used to treat her. But Josh isn’t Daniel, but why is Josh pursing her? What would a guy like him want with a woman, with so much baggage, want with her?

Though it was highly predictable and a pure fairytale, I really enjoyed it. I don’t mind the occasional insta-love stories, especially when they involve hot British actors. If you’re looking for a good, simple read, with the occasional steam thrown in, and don’t mind the instant love, then I think you will enjoy this story.

"Hollywood Ever After" by Sasha Summers was a real good read; that involves Claire, her family, friends and Josh Wiley. This story is of a thirty-five year old mother of two, that has a abusive ex-husband who doesn't understand the word NO and also a wonderful mother. Claire is sent on a birthday holiday vacation in L.A. to visit with her best friend and it is there that she meets this movie star Josh Wiley. Jose is younger than Claire by seven years but he knows that Claire is what he wants however, Claire on the other hand is not sure that this will last. Now, this is where I say you must pick up "Hollywood Ever After" to find out if this guy will get this girl in the end. Be ready for a lot of page turning till the end.

The characters are really off the chart good starting with Claire, Josh, Daniel, Shannon, Arther,Frank, Graham, Will, Natalie, Regina, Angus, Jim, Meg, Helen, Nathan to a few others that this author had to really make this a wonderful well written read.

If you are looking for a wonderful novel about a woman, her family, friends, and abusive ex, to is now able to start a new life of happiness, love and even have the "Hollywood Ever After".... you have come to the right place and I would recommend this novel for a good read.

This was an exciting, romantic read that tackles a very heavy subject.

Claire is trying to move on with her life, away from the stigma of being a victim of domestic violence and away from the scars. But her ever present ex-husband doesn't want that to happen.

Until Claire's brother sends her on a vacation to Hollywood where she can get away from who she is at home and get back in touch with who she used to be - before kids, before marriage.

She meets Josh - Hollywood's "it" guy and the sparks fly between them.

But will her ex allow her to move on?

I loved the romance between Josh and Claire. Though it happened quickly, Ms. Summers does an excellent job of showing how initial attraction can turn to true love and I believed the couple's emotions and was rooting for them from the beginning.

The story is woven with real conversations and dialogue that flows effortlessly. You fall in love right along with the characters and the pace pulls you on with building tension and some very steamy love scenes.

If you are a fan of strong believable heroines and Silver Screen worthy Heroes -- You won't be disappointed with Hollywood Ever After

Hollywood Ever After is about starting over and overcoming difficult moments in life.

This book was great. Claire is a divorced mom who is trying to continue with her life after being in an abusive marriage. The story starts in Hollywood and Claire meets Hollywood heartthrob Josh. They start a relationship that some bumps in the road but fight to overcome them.

I really enjoyed this book. It sucked me in from the beginning, no dull moments.
Definitely a must read!

Hollywood Ever After is a story about BRAVE women who escape an abusive ex husband who will do anything to make sure he keeps Claire under his thumb. Claire had many reason to leave her husband but two reason to stay and that was her kids. Claire goes to California to spend time with her friend for her birthday. Claire best friend who is more like a sister took her to a big Hollywood premier and from the moment that Claire fell into Hollywood actor Josh's arms she knew she was in trouble. They couldnt stop looking at each other or keeps their hands off of each other throughout the whole book.
As smitten as she was with josh she could keep the thought out of her head about how the kids would react to.a new man in the picture or worst how Josh would do with having two kids in his life because they were apart of the package.
Josh would do anything for Claire and he wanted this relationship to work. From the moment Josh meet Claire kids he had a connection with them and loved being in the company.
Claire had alot to still deal with in he life and she was trying he best not to bring Josh or anyone else into it but when it comes to her ex-husband anything can happen and as much as she trys not to bring anyone into it she learns that sometimes its ok to let your walls down and that not all men are like her ex husband. I absolutely couldn't get enough of this story and am looking forward to reading the next book in the series. Sasha summers is a great author and I am excited to read more books by her.

May have slight spoilers.

In Hollywood Ever After by Sasha Summers we meet Claire, her family, and Josh Wiley.

Josh Wiley is a movie star—an up-and coming one and young and hot to-boot. Which is why ordinary divorcee Claire never thought he would give her a second glance, but he does, more than one in fact.

Claire is a mother of two, with an abusive ex-husband and mother who loves her. She has been though a lot in her life, but ever since her vacation to L.A. she is starting to find herself again and that is due in part to Josh, but just because she is ready to move on, doesn’t mean her ex-husband is ready—or going to let her.

I really loved this book—which is saying a good bit for me—when was the last time I read a contemporary romance novel? I am sure I have, but for the life of me I can not recall how long ago it was, an my main genre is not usually contemporary, but I was immediately drawn to Hollywood Ever After, first by the cover—which is absolutely lovely—and then by the description. I was hooked and knew I had to read.

Josh is hot, younger than Claire and he knows exactly what he wants—something real and knows that he has found it in Claire who sees the real him.

That has to be one of the main things I liked about Josh—he knew almost from the very start that Claire was the real-deal and he does not give up on her no matter what—he is committed for the long-haul.

Claire on the other hand is not so sure and is convinced Josh and she won’t last, especially not forever—she has two kids, and he is younger than her. Not to mention a whole slew of other ‘problems’ like being very self-critical.

But after a while Claire starts to get her feet again so-to-speak and realize a few things. She was an absolutely wonderful character—strong, so much more than she realizes, capable, reliable and a wonderful mother to her two children.

This book left me wish a since of awe almost and I had tears in my eyes more than once as I read about Claire finding herself again and Josh come into her and the kids life. (He was absolutely wonderful with them in case you were wondering!)

Hollywood Ever After is a wonderful novel about a woman, her family, friend and her abusive ex-husband and how she finds a new start in life, happiness, love and her happily ever after.

This is my first novel by this author, but it will not be my last besides another series—one about mythical gods—another book in this series is set for November this year and I am definitely going to read it!

I would recommend this novel to anyone who likes contemporary romance novels and is looking for an engrossing read—but also I urge other readers as well to pick it up, even if contemporary romance is not the main genre you read.

*I received a hardcover/paperback/eBook copy/ARC of this book for free to review from the author/publisher; this in no way influenced my review, all opinions are 100% honest and my own.

Claire has spent the last two years, following her divorce, trying to move on from the violent history with her ex-husband. When her brother sends her on a vacation to visit a friend who's making a name for herself in the movie industry, Claire unexpectedly meets the newest Hollywood heart-throb at his movie premiere.

Josh Wiley, while walking the red carpet, just happens to be nearby when Claire stumbles and almost falls. From the moment he catches her, he can't take his eyes off her. And he'll do whatever it takes to get to know her better.

When I was maybe 3/4 of the way through the book, I got to thinking that this story didn't feel like a story at all. It felt real. And I felt like I was spying on Claire's life: every conversation, every laugh, every touch, every kiss. It was fun and sad and, at times, scary to watch. But I really felt like I was there, observing it all.

Although Claire thinks that what she has with Josh can't possibly last beyond her week long vacation, when she must return to Texas where her two kids and mother are waiting for her, Josh isn't about to let it end that way. And Claire doesn't want it to end either, despite the fact that she worries about their eight year age difference. But when Claire's ex-husband Daniel learns that there might be something going on between her and Josh, he's determined to get her back — one way or another.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Hollywood Ever After. As I mentioned above, it was like observing these people's lives and not just reading about them. They felt like real people, not just characters. And I honestly don't believe that I've ever felt that way about a book before. The story wasn't rushed, and while some people may think that certain scenes in this story might not have been necessary to the progression of the book, I found the everyday nuances of a family life rather nice.

Apart from Claire and Josh, there were a lot of great characters that I could really get attached to, for instance: Natalie and Will, Claire's children; Marty, Claire's mother; Nathan and Helen, Josh's father and sister; and Shannon, Claire's best friend. I have to admit, I really got a kick out of the interaction between Marty and Nathan while they were trying to prepare dinner. There were just a lot of little moments within the story that were just as fun and interesting as the main plot. And, of course, when I reached the end of the book, I wanted more. While the book had a satisfying ending, I wasn't quite ready to leave them.

So I definitely recommend Hollywood Ever After, and I look forward to reading more of Sasha Summers' work. From what I've read online, Hollywood Ever After is book one in the Red Carpet series. I'm unsure, as of yet, whether Hollywood Holiday, book two in the series, will continue the story of Claire and Josh or if it will focus on other characters all together, but I'm thrilled to know that there is more on the way.

** I received an eARC copy of the book from InkSpell Publishing for review.**

Review:

I love fairy tale endings and Sasha Summers has just given me the perfect one! I absolutely loved this story. It’s sweet and horrific all at the same time! Yes, I know that a contradiction.

Claire is a survivor. She survived her ex-husband beating her and putting her in the hospital more times than she can count. Now she’s met Josh. Younger, hottie hottie actor, and oh such a Prince Charming. Everyone needs a Josh in their life!

I REALLY liked Claire. She’s in her mid-thirties, divorced from her abusive ex-husband and raising 2 kids the best she can. She has scars and baggage but doesn’t let that keep her down. She decides to embrace life and all it can offer.

I like the way Ms. Summers depicted Claire. She’s definitely a survivor and not a victim. The abuse she suffered has definitely shaped the person she has become but id didn’t define her and become her whole life. Ms. Summers presented the abuse and it’s after-effects in a way that I knew what she had suffered and how it affected her but I didn’t feel brow-beaten by it. It was just part of who she was. Ms. Summers also did a phenomenal job of demonstrating how abuse affects people and how it changes their lives. She did all of this without letting it overtake the most important part of the story, living your life.

Josh was perfect! He’s handsome, doesn’t push too hard and gives space when it’s needed. He wanted all of Claire, scars and all.

The fact that Claire was 7 years older than Josh didn’t hinder the story. And while age was brought up a few times, it didn’t take over the plot, it just was.

I loved this story and I’m looking forward to reading the next one in this series.

I was provided a copy of the book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Hollywood Ever After by Sasha Summers draws a reader in on many different levels. First and foremost is the satisfyingly sweet yet sexy romance between an older woman/younger man. Claire's just gotten out of an abusive marriage which has left her with self-esteem issues, amongst other scars. She can't understand why the extremely hot and sexy young actor Josh would want her but he totally wins her (and us readers) over with his heartfelt compliments and unquestionable support. Their relationship evolves realistically and seamlessly incorporates the demands of motherhood upon their fledging relationship. Josh time and time again proves he's in it for the long haul and his scenes with the children were heartwarming to see.

Amongst the sweetness were some very weighty issues. Claire is a survivor of physical and verbal abuse courtesy of her ex-husband Daniel who makes unnervingly sporadic appearances throughout the story to try to exert control over her. These scenes were extremely tense and it showed a new strength in her character that she didn't give into his demands. Her dealings with him were empowering and make her a character you can look up to.

Ms. Summers conveyed the glitz and glamour of Hollywood and all its trappings in a realistic manner as well as the serenity of London. The scenery took on a life of its own and I felt like a part of the action. The business side of Hollywood with all its positives and negatives was well done and was another issue this new couple had to cope with and was handled in a mature way.

Josh and Claire were great on their own but were amazing together. The sexual chemistry was there from the first moment they collided and intensified to some very steamy sexual encounters. The addition of the children brought out a tender side to Josh and helped Claire see how good of a man he was. The children were likable and enhanced the storyline greatly. There were other secondary characters equally entertaining and their appearances added to the sense of family Josh and Claire were trying to create.

This was a story that stays with you long after the final page is turned. The characters and emotions were realistic and gutwrenching and I was rooting for a HEA every moment. Josh and Claire were a wonderful couple with wonderful children who deserved happiness and Ms. Summers set them on a richly rewarding path to an immensely satisfying conclusion.

He’s a movie star, she’s an abused, divorced mother of two. They meet when she makes a trip to Hollywood to spend some time with an old school friend. This friend has all kinds of connections in Hollywood, and introduces her to Josh. There is an instant connection between them. This sounds unlikely doesn’t it? Yet, this author makes it real and believable.

I started reading expecting this story to be a rather typical romance. It isn’t. After the first couple of chapters, it becomes apparent that there is so much more to this story. The abuse that she has endured has definitely affected her. Josh, the movie star, is unlike most people in the public eye. He wants to be loved for himself, and he finds this quality in her.

They become more and more involved and become a couple. She goes back to her home in Texas, to make a decision about moving with her teenaged daughter and young son. Her ex-husband confronts her, and if her mother had not been present, could have caused significant damage to her physically.

There were times I had to stop reading because I became so tense over her situation. I closed my eyes, got up and decided to wait a while to read some more. When I couldn’t stop thinking about the story, I had to go back and start reading it again.

The children and the mother are delightful, Josh is wonderful and a great hero. They spend time in England, his home, and while there she is haunted with the vision of her ex-husband every time she turns around. He has become a stalker.

I can’t tell you any more about this story without spoiling it for you, but let me tell you that it is a heart stopper in many ways.

I really enjoyed this and loved the people. Although I had to catch my breath many times, it was definitely a book worth reading.

You know, I wasn't really sure what I was expecting when I got this book for review, but what I can tell you is that I was really pleased with it. I thought it would be a sweet little love story about a woman with a complicated life, falling in love with a movie star. Was I right? Yes and no.

Claire is battered and broken. However, she's also strong and determined to make her life better. She is not a victim. Despite the issues and trauma she's had, she makes a true effort to find happiness within herself. I admired her bravery.

When she meets Josh, their chemistry is instant, but because he's a younger, up and coming actor, a relationship with him seems out of reach. Not to mention all the baggage she feels she has. Josh won't be deterred though. He really feels that Claire is special. I loved that, while his character is a movie star, he was really down to earth. He wasn't impressed with his fame. Josh just wants to live a normal life and enjoy his craft. The future he sees with Claire and her children was sincere. Josh made my heart melt.

The story takes you on a journey of self discovery, finding love, trusting that love, hope, and bringing love and happiness back into a family. Be advised that there are some pretty grueling points in the story and I admit that there were a few times that I cried. I'm happy to say that Hollywood Ever After gave me more than I anticipated and I found a really great story

Such a sweet story. For this being her second published romance novel, it's so sweet. Makes me think I can find someone in Hollywood.

This reminded me of some of my favorite Lifetime movies, Flirting with Forty, the one with Heather Locklear. I just found out the author was writing a holiday sequel to it, and I am anxiously awaiting to read it! Great job Sasha!

This was a fun and sexy read. I fell in love with hero. It starts as a sexy fantasy that leads into a real life change. A mother of two gets a break from real life and falls into the arms of an upcoming Hollywood star. The only problem? He wants more. He is smart enough to know the real thing when he sees it. The story becomes a true family adventure.

Based on the title and cover, I kind of expected it to be a fun, light-hearted read so it was a bit unexpected on how much it went into spousal abuse. Although, unexpected, it did give the book more depth, but I felt like the book fell flat in the end. I can't pinpoint exactly what it is but I felt like it's missing something. I wanted just a bit more to hold on to.

I know I'm being a class-A b**** downrating a book that everyone's loving on GR- a book about empowerment; a woman coming out of a dark place and finding herself again and reclaiming her life- but I'm sorry I hated this book, and the message it conveys.

The minute I started reading this book, and the story started revealing itself to me, I knew I was going to hate this book. But naive that I am, I kept on reading, hoping things would get better, but they never did and I end up deleting it from my Kindle eventually.

I know this story is pure wish fulfillment, something all women desire, especially middle-aged women, who are bogged down with responsibilities and the pressures of life, and want to feel young and loved and wanted again. This is basically a fairytale for older women, and I would have loved it it it stayed dreamy, romantic and mindless like most chick-lit.

But this book was bogged down by so many nasty elements that kept steering this story into the toxic territory, and taking it in the opposite of the intended direction.

If you liked this book, look away. And if you are planning to read it, here's a lowdown of the reasons I hate this book so much:

1. Only a guy can make you feel happy:

So this was my first grouse against this book. A woman who was in an abusive relationship, and lost touch with herself, is supposed to find herself first. Maybe do so me 'eat, pray, love' kind of exploring; maybe some hot, no-strings-attached sex with random guys,; maybe revisit old memories and do things that made her happy once- anything actually, to push herself and build a new identity for herself.

My point here is, do anything that makes you happy, but make sure you are the epicentre of your happiness.

Do not depend on any guy to make you happy again.
Take charge of your life and run with it.

Therefore, I felt cheated upon reading that the heroine, after separating from her husband, ends up feeling happy again, for the first time after separating from her husband in the arms of the Hollywood hottie.

No, no, no!

That's the wrong way to go about it.

I can't stress enough how much I hate reading about heroines who depend on the heroes to make them happy.

And in this case, she had suffered because of a man, and yet, when she manages to get away from the abusive relationship, she runs headlong into the arms of the first hottie who lays his eyes on her.

No introspection.
No evaluation of her life choices that brought her to this point.
No assessment of what changes she needs to make in her life.
And, absolutely no fucking life plan as to what she wants to do with the rest of her life, except for making out with the Hollywood hearthrob.

Now, coming to the point number two why I hated this book.

2. You can't be happy if you aren't pretty

The message that this book conveys is:

Go to a salon, baby
and buy some self-esteem
.
.
.
Coz unless you look like a filmstar, you can't feel pretty

Aain, I know this is wish-fulfilment, but I hated how the heroine's friend drags her to a salon and every inch of her body is primped and primed until she can't recognize herself in the mirror.

I think, over time, most women let themselves go, so I understand that looking like a diva might help with their confidence and self-esteem, but there's a difference between taking pride in your appearance and wanting to look like you just walked out of Vogue cover.

The pressure to look like that takes a toll on so many of us, so I would expect a woman who's lived a tough reality to be more level-headed and mature than that. I would expect her to give a tall middle finger to the shallowness of the society and do things for her own sake.

That is, if she should get dolled up because she wants to and not because her best friend says that she must look like a hot Hollywood diva to find herself.

Fuck such shallow friends.

I picked up this book because I wanted to read how the heroine rediscovers herself and reconnects with herself and find happiness in her own skin.

Instead, I got a crappy romance of the worst kind: love at first sight. If you have been reading my reviews, you'd know how much I hate them. I have no tolerance for that shit, even less when it involves a grown-up, supposedly adult woman in late thirties.

However, I loved the older woman and younger man angle. Probably, the only thing I liked about this book.

Oh them feeeels!!!

God! i dont think ive lost this goofy grin since i started to read this book

My mind is completely blown!!!

I remember not too long ago reading a book with a relatively similar plot. I absolutely LOVED that book, so i had some reservations with reading this one. Mostly i was just concerned about comparing the two way too much.
Safe to say ABSOLUTELY NO THOUGHTS disturbed me while reading this, let alone thoughts of A Humble Heart :P

My Josh

My Claire

Them ;)

Moving on. . . :P

This is this really amazing book, about a single mom escaping a brutal, abusive husband, sheltering her kids, all the while trying to spread her wings, taking risks on a path of self discovery.
Her red carpet meeting with Josh Wiley, Hollywood's current "It" star and their insta-attraction.

Now the problem im facing is that i cant explain WHY you should read this, so, im just gonna show you how i felt reading this and maybe that'll be enough =)

All that poor Claire had to go through :(

I see the effect Josh has on women ;)

ABOUT THE BOOK:
Happy Endings are for fairy tales. Or the movies. Not for real life. At least, not in Claire’s life. Even though she’s starting over, she knows better than to want too much this time. But when she falls, literally, into the strong arms of Hollywood’s ‘it’ boy Josh Wiley, Claire’s in for some surprises. Her plans for rest and relaxation are forgotten as one incredible night with Josh becomes two… And her heart begins to want him as much as her body. Will two kids, one bastard ex-husband, and Josh’s juggernaut career mean the end of their affair? Or can Claire find her happy ending after all?

REVIEW:
This was an interesting read. It’s written in the first person, which typically isn’t a good read for me but this one stood out. I think it stood out, not for the writing (although that was nice) but more so for the topic, the plot of the story. The plot surrounds something that could be considered touchy in today’s world but I believe Ms. Summers did a great job at relaying an important message. I enjoyed the build up and think the ending was perfectly placed.

The characters were great, I loved Josh and Claire and found myself following along in their building romance with ease. The sex scenes weren’t too much and the family time, the romance was spot on. I loved the secondary characters Ms. Summers brought to us and found myself loving each and every one of them as well.

The only problem I had with this book was pieces of the writing. It seems like a lot of it was fill in data, almost telling us things and I found extra words that didn’t make any sense or add to the sentence. Ms. Summers could have removed those extra words and made the book shine. Instead, I found myself frustrated by them at times.

Over all it really is an intriguing read and one that I will remember for years to come. I loved the message and enjoyed following the romance aspect of it. I give this 3.5 out of 5 stars. I look forward to watching Ms. Summer’s grow as a writer and watching this series play out.

Claire is spending her birthday with her best friend, Assistant Director, Shannon, in Los Angeles. It's a chance for her to decompress and have time to herself. Finally free from her abusive husband, it's time for her to spread her wings and just be Claire. Who would have though one little Hollywood premiere would change a Texas school teacher's life?

Josh Wiley meet Claire as he rescues her from tripping on the red carpet. From the moment these two look into each other's eyes, the pages just about exploded on my iPad. Their chemistry is smoking hot. Josh, with his quiet, understanding personality, is just what Claire needs to put her life back together after her disastrous marriage. He doesn't push her or put any demands on her, he just simply lays everything at her feet and trusts that she'll make the same decision he has about the two of them. When Claire finally trusts him enough to introduce her to her kids, you watch Josh make that final leap for Claire. You totally fall in love with him from that point forward.

Claire initially questions Josh's motives (because what would a 28 year old Hollywood It boy want with a 35 year old mother of two), but she never questions the chemistry they have between them. She fights with herself and with how she's been conditioned by her ex when evaluating their relationship, but she takes a leap of faith and hopes that the strong feelings she has for him are genuine...for her sake and her kids. It takes Claire quite a while to trust what she has with Josh and to know that she doesn't want anything or anyone to damage what they have. But it was fantastic to see Claire put everything on the line to make sure everything she loves was safe from her past.

A definite page turner with an adorable leading man and an incredibly brave and strong heroine. The blurb for this book doesn't do it justice, because it's about so much more than falling for a Hollywood star. It's about learning from our past and trusting ourselves enough to get it right the next time.

Hollywood Ever After is a Contemporary-Romance and the first in the Red Carpet series written by Sasha Summers. I read this as a R2R with The Knights of the Round Table. As always, a special thank you to the mods and author for allowing me to participate.

4.5 stars!
Fantastic Read! I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of this book!

The Review:
This book was a sweet, romantic and wonderful read. I was entranced with this love story and just couldn’t put it down.

Josh Wiley is an up and coming movie star with the good looks and talent to go the distance. But it was his shy demeanor and down to earth disposition that drew me to him. The moment he saw Claire, he was captivated and it showed. He never wavered or strayed and his devotion for her was just what you want in a romantic read. He was everything you could want in a hero.

Claire is a mother of two and is recently divorced from an abusive man. Her hesitancy in getting involved with another man was heartbreaking. She was a terrific mom who wanted and needed passion in her life but was scared to reach out for it. I loved watching Josh break down her defenses and I loved watching her find the trust and empowerment she desperately needed to gain back.

The side characters were an amazing addition. I loved the kids, the mom, the best friend and her man, Josh’s sister and father and even the evil ex-husband who had a part to play to make it the exceptional story it was. And though this story was slightly predictable and your average hot guy meets shy girl, the characters shined brightly on the pages and the writing was well done and polished. It was beautiful and lovely.

The Wrap Up:
I’m a total sucker for romance. I’ve read some great books this year alone and this book will rate right up there with some of the best. I can’t wait to see what the next story holds in this series and what those characters will bring to the canvas!

Read my original review in my blog: Book Review: Hollywood Ever After

Recently, i have become a big fan of celebrity romances. Whenever i see one, i just add it to my goodreads bookshelves. Hollywood Ever after was one of the book i just added when i read synopsis of a celebrity hero in love with a divorcee.
The story was predictable, not at all realistic...a complete fantasy romance , something a fairy tale romance, and thatsy i loved the book and enjoyed it whole heartedly. A single praise for the book from me, Hollywood Ever After is a feel-good romance start to end.
Even though the romance was a fairy tale kind, the characters were almost realistic...i loved both Josh and Claire.
And i admired Claire...she is so strong...a good role model for all the women who has faced similar situations in life. Even though, she was in a abusive marriage for a very long time, she was brave to come out of it and she did it when she realized the single reason she had to leave her husband for kids. I loved how Claire was with her kids - Natalie and Will. Both were great kids especially Will...he was so cute and adorable...!! Now, our hero, Josh, what to say about him....he was the perfect prince for Claire....and awesome....!! He was a very sweet character, he knew what he wanted in life, something real which was difficult to find in Hollywood but he realized it the moment he meets Claire that she is the one for him. Once Josh decides, till the end, he sticks with Claire, a very consistent character and i loved him for that!
I enjoyed all other secondary characters mainly Claire's mom...a very sweet mom, always supportive of her daughter!!
I would have rated the book 5 but, went for 4, only reason for that is these days i'm reading a lot of similar plots...a bit common plotline this one!! Anywas, a nice, sweet read for romance lovers!!

In Short
- Hollywood Ever After has very strong characters who completely make the book.
- I very quickly got into the book and struggled to put it down.
- Josh, the main male character, is very swoon worthy.

In Long
I have to admit that when I started Hollywood Ever After I thought it was going to be a sweet romance and a nice easy read. Hollywood Ever After definitely has a sweet romance in it but it is also so much more.

I became addicted within the first chapter; Claire straight away won me over with her sweet and shy nature. She has been through so much yet is so strong for her children, I really admired her character and felt like I wanted to try and protect her. The twists which involved Claire really added to the story because it doesn’t really mention it in the blurb it surprised me and definitely added to the addictive factor of the story. It was refreshing to have such a series subject in a book I thought would just be a romance and Sasha really went about the right way in adding it into the story as it pushed me closer to Claire.

Josh was portrayed just perfectly by Sasha and I straight away fell for him! I didn’t blame Claire for liking him, I wouldn’t be able to resist myself! The other characters all added to the book, there wasn’t any character who didn’t have their own part and the story felt complete with all the right characters.

The storyline started pretty much straight away, there was never a moment to be bored and when I needed to put the book down there never seemed to be like a good time because I was always so desperate to see what would happen next.

Final Thoughts
Hollywood Ever After is an addictive read which I found hard to put down. The main characters really made the story for me.

Hollywood Ever After is a first person contemporary romance featuring an older woman/younger man scenario and is set mainly in Los Angeles and for a few chapters in London.

Claire has come out of an abusive marriage and is starting to get her life together after her divorce. She travels to Hollywood to spend a few days with her friend, Shannon who works in the movie industry. Shannon treats Claire to some new clothes to wear to the premiere of a movie and this is where she meets Josh, an English actor who is the newest sensation in the film world.

At first Claire can’t believe Josh is interested in her, but he gradually talks her around and shows her with both actions and words that it’s Claire he wants. Even after she returns to her normal life with her kids he continues to pursue her.

The ongoing conflict in this story comes from Claire’s ex-husband and Josh’s burgeoning fame as an actor plus Claire’s recovery from her husband’s abuse. This story is Claire’s journey from abused wife to independent woman.

I loved this story from page one and read it in a couple of days. Although Hollywood Ever After deals with some weighty issues, it was very much a feel good story and had me cheering for the hero and heroine. I enjoyed the main characters and the way their relationship developed during the course of the story. The slight suspense element added to the story, although it was easy to guess what would happen in this respect.

If you’re a fan of contemporary romances, I think you’ll like this one. I’ll be looking for more from this author.

This book was received from Bewitching Book Tours and the author in exchange for an honest review.

Hollywood Ever After is a beautiful love story of a woman with an abuse past, blooming while spending a birthday weekend in Hollywood with her producer friend and meeting a striking movie heartthrob who ends up being more down to earth than the norm glitz of Hollywood.

The plot was good, contemporary romance with a little suspense twist. The twist being Claire's abusive and controlling ex-husband who doesn't take liking to Claire looking happy and dating Josh and harassing her for it. Also I usually don't like kids in a love story but I actually really liked Claire's kids and how Josh was with them - they weren't the source of drama and I loved it!

The romance was beautiful, Josh and Claire were a great match and even though they started with a bang the story turned sweet and I loved the whole journey they went through to telling each other they loved one another to the ex messing with things. But I loved how secure Josh was and wasn't intimidated by Claire's ex or her past - absolutely loved it.

If it hadn't been for the papz and the premieres totally heartthrob Josh would have been like any other decent guy falling in love. I absolutely love these domestic abuse survivor stories, not so much the victim stories but when the woman is a survivor and meets a really great guy I think makes for a amazing novel.

Can't wait to read Hollywood Holiday the Book Two in the Red Carpet Series coming in December 2012!

I'm still on my Hollywood romance kick. It's so weird, I would NEVER have thought this would be a genre that appeals to me. I wonder if it is because ... this is probably the closest modern version of HR - instead of the ton you've got celebrities. *shrug*

Anyway. This book was cute, and sweet. But I don't think I would classify it as a Hollywood romance, because Hollywood didn't figure into it really at all. It was honestly a ... moving story about a woman finding her way after escaping an abusive husband.

The romance was fast - they were pretty much in love with each other within a day - so that didn't really work for me. But I'm pretty good about doing a single eyeroll and then tabling that ... like, suspension of disbelief. And so after I set that aside, the connection between Claire and Josh was lovely. He was much more of an emotional hero than I'm used to seeing, and I liked it very much. He was all-in, no holds barred, loved her and refused to give up the pursuit. But not in a alpha-male, won't-take-no-for-an-answer way... which would have been gross for an abuse survivor. This wasn't at all gross. It was very sweet.

I thought this book was great! It was a sweet read with some predictability but a great read.

Claire has had some tough times being a victim but once she meets Josh and finds out what true love is she becomes a survivor.

Josh is awesome and I think he will have to be one of my book boyfriends one Monday. The locations in this book make you want to visit those places and chase dragons and sunsets.

This book was well written. I am a super big fan of the hollywood/celebrity type books and this was one of the good ones.
