I thought this book was very informational. For my Japan project in World Geography, this book helped out a great deal. Considering the other Japan book I had for the project, I read this book in a breeze. That might have been because of all the pictures, though. I especially enjoyed the drawing of the manga girl. Because I had already read a book on Japan previously, there was not much information that was new. It was kind of cool to know that traditional Japanese written goes vertical (up and down), but has changed to left to right (horizontally) like the West. It also went really in-depth into things that I am interested in, like the native animals to Japan and the language. It was really cool and this book also had lots of information on the economy and politics, if you're into that kind of thing. There's really not much more I can say... Oh! I liked that it went through the names of the most important leaders of Japan and told how they shaped Japan into what it has become today. So, it's a good read if you would like to find out more about Japan. I recommend this book to people who need to open themselves up to their surroundings and learn about the cultures and the world around them.
