THIS MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE SPOILERS IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED SOME OF THE MARVAL MOVIES
Knowing this book was a recap of several marvel movies I kinda knew it was not going to be that good, and I was right. It was fine overall but not really what I was looking for when I picked it up (I was more looking for something new about the avengers and I didn’t get that) . Not only that they left several needed parts out that they could have added. Finally the end was WAY WAY WAY to rushed and left SEVRAL details out that they should have added. So overall the book was not what I was looking for and was not good overall so would NOT recommend.

Not good. I understand that it is a jr. novelization, but I would still expect a little bit of quality to it. In fact I really just kinda skim read the whole thing.
The first 3/4s of the book is a REALLY, extremely, condensed version of Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, and Hulk all rolled into one. I'm sure that each of those movies had their own jr novelization, so I don't understand why they would be included. Especially since this left the actual Avengers movie part of the story to be told in about 20 pages. That was easy since half the movie was cut out and all problems were wrapped up very conveniently.
So overall this book was really not good, and quite disappointing. (I was hoping for an adult novelization of the movie, and since there wasn't one, I settled for this).
If I could speak to the author I would ask 'why?' and 'what was the point?'
Although I will admit. The 16 pages of photos were great. Especially the ones of Loki. ;)
If we can't protect the Earth, you can be damn sure we'll avenge it. - Tony Stark
A Avengers novel that contains Nick Furry and the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and I'm a little disappointed to say that this was not my favorite. I felt that it had the ability to be so much better.
For me the writing at times was slow and very dull. Almost like there was too much detail and the author was just going on and on to expand the book. I really wanted to like it but I just could not find myself enjoying it. I felt that the author wanted to get ALL the superheroes stories into one novel and it just did not work at all.
This book was alright but not a full Avengers movie novelization. First half of the book spends time going through each of the characters origin story THEN goes into the Avengers movie storyline. I understood why they went this route but i hate when its advertised as a movie novel when in reality it isn’t.
this book is not working for me....feels like you cook a delicious grill ribs...but you serve just bone on the plate.... a little bit unnecessary for this book to be published.
3 Stars. Thought this was a media tie in of the Avengers movie. It is instead a Youth book tying in all the movies chronologically up to mid way through the first Avengers movie. What i mean is they start with a condensed version of of Captain America: The First Avenger, then all the other movies are laid out in chapters chronologically so at time, even though the movie came out 9 month or more apart, you can tell the as something is happening in the first Thor movie, that SAME day something is happening in the first Iron Man or The Incredible Hulk movie (marvel is ignoring the Eric Bana hulk movie) until they finally get to the events of the first Avengers movie, but that is were it lost a star from me. The book ends with the capture of Loki on the S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier. They don't cover the rest of the that movie. Innovative way of tying the movie together but stupid spot to end the book. I read it in 2 hours.
Not compelling as a book. The plot description made it seem like a story about someone assembling a team. Unfortunately, this person wasn't focused on.
Instead, we get multiple chapters of things that happened to characters, with no sense of why the events matter to the story. There was no one to get invested in because there was a new character with almost every chapter.
I lost interest, because the sense of a larger story being created was lost. I ended this book about halfway. The book description's suggestion of an exciting overall story was way better than the book, which got lost in the micro-details about each character's development.
To he honest, this was kind of like listening to someone read a Fandom wiki article. It didn't really feel like anything was at stake for the characters, there was no real character development, and the story was overall rushed. It's almost as if someone just wanted to barf out a bunch of information rather than a fully developed plot. It was a little disappointing. Just my opinion
This three-hour audio version of the blockbuster movie lacks the excitement of the film. Rather than describe fight scenes the audiobook spends way too much time on backstory. Only mildly recommended.
Obviously written for younger audience. Not really about the movie itself but what leads up to the avengers forming. Not much else to say about it. 2.7 stars!
I was expecting the story to be cut short again, I really don't like that. The beginning filled me in about Captain America, Iron Man and The Hulk a bit.

Buku setipis ini ternyata merupakan adaptasi dari 6 film superhero-nya Marvel: Iron Man, Iron Man 2, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America: The First Avengers, dan terakhir, The Avengers. Apa jadinya jika 6 film dipadatkan menjadi satu buku setebal 167 halaman?
Great War’, alih-alih Second World War.
Selanjutnya dikisahkan tentang munculnya Loki yang ingin menguasai Bumi, alasan atama mengapa Nick Furry, Direktur S.H.I.E.L.D. ingin membentuk The Avengers.
This...was not at all what I thought it was going to be. I thought it was a junior novelization of the movie, but it wasn't. It was more an amalgamation of the stand alone movies leading up to The Avengers...with heavy emphasis on Iron Man/Iron Man 2 and Thor. Only the last 30 or so pages take place during The Avengers movie timeline, but even that's off**.
The problem with trying to tell the events of six movies in 167 pages is that you lose so much of what makes these movies great to begin with. Gone is the humor, the depth, and the great characterization. And while I appreciate the effort the author took in trying to put the events of the movies in sequence, it did make the story a little stilted at times as we jumped from one character to another and back again. None of our heroes (or their villain) got the page time they deserved, with poor Hawkeye really getting the shaft.
The 16 pages of color pictures was a nice bonus, though.
**While there were a few slight differences between events of the stand alone movies and what was told in this book, by the time the story moved to the events at the start of The Avengers, things were really off. It makes me wonder if the author based this story off an early version of the screenplay or something. I was actually going to list a few of them, but there's just so many.
The way the book ends is pretty abrupt too. The final scene takes place after
I just...I don't know quite what to make of this book.
The Avengers (Iron Man, Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America) plus bagian awal film The Avengers sampai adegan Shakespeare in the Park.
This is more of a book explaining how the Avengers came to be rather than an adaption of the movie itself. The only thing that saved it from getting two stars was the fact the author took the time to put the book in order of events rather then in order of when the movies came out.
That said, both Captain America and the Hulk got the shaft here with their sections of the book being glossed over quickly in favor of Thor and Iron Man. Hawk eye, who ends up having a somewhat large cameo in Thor isn't even mentioned until the author reaches the Avenger's part of the story line.
A decent book for reluctant readers but I would have rather had a straight adaption of the movie like the novelizations used to be.
I enjoyed reading the book, but it wasn't what the description said it was... which was a novelization of the movie. Here in lies my issue, I picked this up wanting to read about the movie but what I got was a condensed version of the movies that led to The Avengers and an even more condensed version of The Avengers... meaning it cut parts out, parts that were necessary to the wrapping of the storyline.
Per usual Hawkeye got the shaft and Widow got a bit more page time, why he never gets any airtime is beyond me, moving on.
Geared toward a young audience it was a fun and quick read. While I did enjoy the recaps of how the Avengers came to be, I just wish it delivered what was promised, the story of The Avengers movie.
It is a chapter version of Avengers: The Movie Storybook with less pictures and more dialogue. I have a feeling it was written before the final draft of the Avengers movie since the events play out a bit differently. It’s a quick refresher of how the Avengers Initiative is born, chock full of all the jokes we know and love.
This book is good and they get all the mightyest heros to stop this evil person that no one can beat by themselves and puting this great force together is the ultimate plan to defeat this enemy because if the enemy is not defeated terror would come apon the world. This is a chalenge that the heros have to face and the world has fate in them this book was intersting to me start to finish I give this book rate 5
I am still reading it, I quite like it, I mean it's not meant to be a very well written book, but I like how they simplify the storylines of several movies, I have watched the Avengers, but I hadn't watched iron man, captain America, so now at least I have a bit of idea what's going on, but at first I thought it's a novelization of the movie, and was expecting more of Loki :O
About the first two thirds of the book is backstory of each Avenger, which is material that belongs in separate books about each character, not this book, which, I was under the impression, was about the first Avengers movie. The book ends just after Loki is captured in Stuttgart, leaving the reader with the (extremely false) impression things end there.
