The Opera Ghost

Rate this book
COMING SOON:

It has been five years since Emily Porterfield, the woman who could dream across time and space, drifted into a coma. In modern day Paris, six lost paintings by Edgar Degas are discovered in the watery cellars of the luxurious opera house and Garrett Keller is called to investigate their authentication. He soon discovers three impossible facts.

The first is that Edgar Degas, the artist who is most well-known for his voyeuristic paintings of women from the ballet, the artist who witnessed the death of one opera house and the birth of its successor, was the primary influence for the acclaimed gothic novel, The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux. The second is that these six pieces of artwork were painted by Jonathan Radley, the master forger and murderer that Garrett Keller has been obsessively pursuing for years.

The third is that Jonathan has stolen Emily's comatose body as payback for ruining his life. While Garrett is pulled into a hunt to rescue Emily by using clues hidden in the forgeries, we watch her story unfold in the 19th century ballet through the keyhole of the real life Opera Ghost. As links between Leroux's novel and the forgeries bring Garrett closer to Emily's body and Jonathan's shocking motives become clear, Emily's life is threatened in both the past and the present and Garrett is forced to deal with how his reckless pursuit of Jonathan will affect the future of them all.
