This is my first fanfic read. When I decided on the NCIS series, I only knew Mark Harmon. I thought that other guy was cute but didn't know who he was. I had to look up Wikipedia to find out more about the series and who the characters were.
So not having watched a single episode of NCIS in its entirety, this fanfic is like discovering a whole new series of MM romance! I'm not only getting romance, I get different themes and genres since I've downloaded from various authors.
Anyway, back to the story...
Opening the Box, the first installment in this series, begins with Tony DiNozzo grappling with his personal issues and relationships with his co-workers. The focus is mainly on Tony - and oh, I so adore him! swoon... - and we get to understand his insecurities, why his life is wrapped up around the office. Is it work or something else? Or someone?
This is pre-slash so I got to enjoy the build-up to Gibb's and Tony's romance. In this story, we only get to see how Gibbs goes nuts trying to figure out why Tony is taking leave - something he's never done before, apparently - but more importantly, why he bypassed Gibbs and went straight to Sheppard for the leave approval.
A frantic, secretly-besotted Gibbs is fun to watch.
I had a hard time taking to Ziva. I loved Abby and Ducky.
I'm giving this 5 stars because it's such a delightful find and if you haven't read this particular fanfic, be warned that there are several typos and errors. Nothing major - just little niggly things that are bound to aggravate Kate if she were to read this:p

April 27, 2012Can't wait to read this. My husband is a fanatic about the series. I've seen about 12 episodes. Once I finish the series,it will be VERY different watching the series. Both actors are SOOOO cute!
