Clare, Luc and Rob have been best friends since childhood – and something more, once they were of age. They’re practically inseparable, even now that they’re in college. But lately there’s been a shift in each of them and Clare finds herself wanting more. And “more” comes in the form of Resident Advisor Jack Cartwright.
Jack is completely and utterly focused on finishing his graduate thesis. Or so he tells himself. He’s relegated his wild sexual side to the past and he will NOT be tempted by the three gorgeous, erotic students whose suite is next to his. Then Jack accidentally catches the threesome in bed and soon he finds himself obsessed with the idea of taking the trio up on what they’re offering him. And once Clare opens up to him, Jack can no longer resist temptation...
BEAUTIFUL OBSESSION is one wildly erotic read! The sensual heat between Jack, Clare, Luc and Rob is matched only by the emotional warmth in BEAUTIFUL OBSESSION. Author Juniper Bell does an incredible job of bringing all four characters to life, and the friendship between Clare, Luc and Rob is just as important to BEAUTIFUL OBSESSION as the burgeoning relationship between Clare and Jack. I loved that Ms. Bell devoted as much to the trio’s “unconventional” friendship as she did to the romance. Without that solid foundation, BEAUTIFUL OBSESSION would simply have been erotica rather than an all-around satisfying story.
In BEAUTIFUL OBSESSION, Ms. Bell gives readers endearing characters, red-hot erotic scenes and traces of BDSM. I hope Ms. Bell writes stories for Luc and Rob, but even if she doesn’t, BEAUTIFUL OBESSION is a fantastic standalone novella. BEAUTIFUL OBSESSION is the first book of Ms. Bell’s that I’ve read and – given her talent for blending extreme heat with heart – I can definitely say that it won’t be the last!

Beautiful Obsession by Juniper Bell is a unique and mysterious erotic romance about a graduate student who is captivated by a beautiful student. No matter how hard these two people try to fight their attraction, it only keeps growing more powerful, but they aren’t the only two people involved.
Jack Cartwright has given up his formerly wild ways and has settled down as a graduate student. He is completely focused on finishing his thesis until three mysterious students begin to intrigue him. As a resident assistant he sees and knows most of the people living in his building. Clare is a beautiful young woman who has caught his eye, but she seems to be somehow involved with two of the men living on Jack’s floor. She is always with Luc and Rob, and Jack can’t figure out which one is actually her boyfriend. The more he tries not to think about Clare, the more obsessed he becomes with her.
I very highly recommend this book. It is well written and while it is not a full length novel, it isn’t overly short either. The author gives the reader enough time to feel invested in these characters and their story. There is a very mysterious air to this story that almost makes it feel a bit dark. I like a story that is different from the norm, and that is one of the things I loved about this story. The relationship between the characters is also unique. Clare, Luc, and Rob have had a deep relationship since childhood, and it’s definitely an unusual relationship.
Jack prides himself on being a devoted student and a responsible person. This obsession with Clare is threatening that, and he fights it all the way. This creates some great tension that builds up the emotions. The heat level is high, and there are some very light BDSM aspects to the story. It’s a quick read that will hook you right from the start and keeps you hooked until the very end. When I was finished, I didn’t want it to end.

Sweet baby Moses floating down the river! Talk about a fantastically hot read! This novella by Juniper Bell was just what the doctor ordered.
This erotic romance was nice and hot. However, we only got to the super hotness after A LOT of tension was built up. No worries though. The suffering was oh so sweet LOL! When we finally got to the steamy part my temperature sored! The sexiness had my squeezing my legs together in excitement. The light BDSM elements that were present accented the story nicely, though a smidge more wouldn't have hurt. ;0)
Beautiful Obsession was written in a very unique way. It's written as a collection of encounters and we get both Jack and Clare's POV. His in the third person and her's is in the first via her diary entries. It made for and intoxicating experience. One that I enjoyed very much. It was different and will stick in my mind for a while.
Learning the back stories of the characters enhanced this read for me. I think the additional info was wonderful. We're given another vantage point from which to view Clare by learning about her past. One can easily see how her early childhood molded her into the woman she's become. It gave a special significance to her longing for Jack's dominance. Ms. Bell also dropped a few hints that could easily be developed into other stories. Like, what exactly was Luc intimating with his comments while they were in the Harkness House court? How did they first come together in an up close and personal way?
Juniper Bell is a new favorite author of mine. She kept me enthralled and left me wanting more. I hope to hear more about these guys in the future.

For those of you that know me... and those that don't this is my little statement about short books.... I do not judge short stories on the rush of their relationships, because they are just that - short stories. So, yes the relationships always could have been drawn out more, yea it seems like they fall in love to fast and of course the story could have been made longer... but it is a short story. So with that said.... here is my review...
This is a short story and you guys know how I feel about giving out to much information on short stories... I am a fan of Ms. Bell's work and this one drew me in quick because the main three characters are from my home state... Louisiana. So, I am a little bias when it comes to the story... But I was partial to the rest of the story. Ms. Bell has a way with her words and her characters. She makes you want to dive deep into the story - even if it is a short story - and makes you want something, makes you need something... makes you feel something. This story was no different....
It is a short story, I know I have said that.. So the story line is plotted out, but it was a little rushed. In my opinion, given a few more pages... The back story of Luc, Clare and Rob would have flowed very well with the leaving of Louisiana. And with a few more pages, Jack's deep secrets could have been exposed... But remember my warning... Ms Bell did not have a few pages to spare... So, the story she gave was great!
The tension between her characters are strung so tight, you probably could play a violin on them. The sexual need hanging in the balance was so thick you could have spanked it and never heard a sound. The desire so heavy, you will probably feel it dripping around your neck....
Rob, Luc and Clare will take Jack's world and flip it upside down and inside out. But in the end, will he be the one in control or will they all three control him.... Who's Beautiful Obsession is it anyways.... You wanna find out....
