A well-written plot involving three main characters, first separately, and then evolving into a plot that involves all three. The author focuses on the subject of bullying in different situations for each of the three characters. Good character development and plot development. This book is suitable for middle school aged readers through adult. Bullying is a hot topic in our society at this time. I was pulled in from the start, with the introduction of the first character, Eric, a just-returned Army vet who must learn to adjust back into civilian society. The second character, Alex, will bring you to tears. Cindy, the third character, is a courageous young woman just coming into her own. This book is a page turner and I didn't want to put it down.

I received this book as part of first reads. The story line is great, with a wonderful message of self acceptance and reaching out to others. The intertwining of the lives of the main characters was well done. However, I was very distracted by the many grammatical and word usage errors. The author's style is fairly simple and needs proofreading, but with work could be a great piece of writing.

Author Justin Mark makes his debut with his novel Adjust, a book following three characters and dealing with issues such as Post War Stress Disorder, Bullying, as well as being proud of who you are even if you are different.

Description:
Eric is an ex-soldier, learning to adjust to a civilian lifestyle. Alex is an eleven year old boy who is bullied at school. Cindy is a high school senior who struggles under the pressures of society. They all go through their lives, trying to adjust, struggling, when a major event brings them all together where they will change each other's lives forever.

An uplifting book that has some action as well as life lesson discussions. By this for your teenager so they not only realize the effects of bullying but also learn to be proud to be who they are! Slight violence but suitable for all ages (relateable to a PG-13 movie with slight violence and a curse word here or there). Makes a great Christmas present; available as both an EBook and a paper copy.

Thoughts on Adjust

This was a short, but powerful story of three people, strangers, whose lives cross paths. I would suggest this book to everyone, especially the closed-minded who forget there are two sides to every story.
Well done, Justin.
