It started as a typical western, but I was pleasantly surprised that the plot and characters went in a different direction than is usually the traditional norm.

Initially it was hard to keep track of all the players in this novel but I was able to do it. I liked the suspense and it’s background as a western, which I love. The ending is the reason I gave it 5 stars. You will not be disappointed if you are a fan of westerns as there is much action and for me a so called “page turner”.

I don't read many westerns but I did like this one. It is about gold fever and morals, a few surprises and a great storm description.
