The spiritual leader and Guru of Arkovia, is dead. Obsessed with his final decree, the Arkovians segregated themselves from their neighbors and their gates remain forever closed to the outside world. Until one Arkovian dares to think differently. To disobey. To love.
In the tradition of Richard Bach and Paulo Coelho, The Book of Arkovia offers a timeless message of hope and inspiration. A modern philosophical classic, the Arkovian journey and its unique characters teach us the importance of self-image, unity, and the pursuit of true freedom in the face of oppression.
This is well m written, fast-paced, and interesting, but the story & characters were not developed. This reader kept questioning Era, environment, social norms, and philosophy.

‘Everything that dies is reborn into life’ - An enriching philosophical novel
Israeli author Yossi Ovadia brings to his writing an impressive background: actor, biophysics and molecular scientist, and with degrees in bible studies and mathematics. His books to date: THE ADVENTURES OF BONNY HOOD IN THE URBAN DESERT, and now THE BOOK OF ARKOVIA, translated from the Hebrew by Ohad Raps. The story opens with the passing of the Guru of the strange country of Arkovia: his parting words generate a need for the Arkovians to isolate, blocking entry to others outside their borders. The testy Guru (‘Yesguru’) rises from the dead and what follows is a path of exploring the small country’s population, values, beliefs, virtues, venturing outside the restrictions to find love, define self, and achieve unity of spirit. As the author condenses the tale, ‘The spiritual leader and Guru of Arkovia, is dead. Obsessed with his final decree, the Arkovians segregated themselves from their neighbors and their gates remain forever closed to the outside world. Until one Arkovian dares to think differently. To disobey. To love. A modern philosophical classic, the Arkovian journey and its unique characters teach us the importance of self-image, unity, and the pursuit of true freedom in the face of oppression.’
Ovadia’s writing style incorporates a gentle and subtle humor, allowing his impressive philosophical and psychological messages to rise, imprint, and influence every reader in a positive way. This is another memorable book by a significant author. Recommended. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book
