It's been two days since a zombie virus turned Zack Clarke's parents, neighbors, and most of the country into brain-munching fiends. It's time for the Zombie Chasers to end this nightmare once and for all!
With an antidote in hand, the gang sets off on a wild cross-country road trip to defeat the evil genius behind the zombie apocalypse. But the clock is ticking! Will Sludgment Day be the dawn of the dead?
The book entitled “ Zombie Chasers 3 Sludgment Day is an intense book and magnificent story line. The book is about a group of kids who try to prevent a zombie apocalypse from happening and have a scientist help them create and make a new cure to to turn zombies back into humans. The strengths of the book are the kids always look out for each other and I think that’s a heart warming. For example when Zack didn't leave rice when he became a zombie in the lab. One of the weaknesses of the book where it talked about disgusting details for example on chapter 4 page 30” when Zack reached for the faucet, a nasty brown cockroach shot up from the drain and skittered out of the sink. On pure reflex, Zack grabbed an old folded- up newspaper off the countertop and slammed the juicy bug. Splat! He was checking the splotch of squashed insect guts!” This story is an adventurous story and hopefully other people will read the book and and have an amazing experience reading it as well. Because there might be a few disgusting parts of the book but other than that they have good twists and turns and other suspense surprises and the book makes you want to read more.
Personal response In this book, it is very interesting to read because they are very clever and always have a way to solve the problem they run into. It's cool that they met the doctor who caused the outbreak in the first book. It was weird how the doctor also made made the animal for the burger dogs that it was a mutation between a pig and a cow.
Plot summary The series continues where it left off with every detail. They went to get Madison and they continued their way to Montana, but ran into a few other problems at the mall with other pit stops. They made it and even got a copy for the antidote from the factory. They met with the scientist that started the outbreak and helped get a cure. Now the zombies are attracted to the antidote more than the humans. After they get their own supply of the antidote to spread, they go to the army base camped out in their home town and meet with Rices parents and Ozzies dad. They end with them spreading antidote around the city and going to get their parents from the vault at the bank.
Characterization Zack is the smart problem solver in this book. He comes up with a good plan to get away from the jerks at the mall, and he came up with the popcorn idea for the antidote. Now that they have been through this apocalypse they are more brave. So it makes sense that they come up with crazy ideas that have a good chance of working to help stop the zombies.
Recommendation I recommend this book to anyone that is reading this series. I would be hard to understand whats happening if you skipped any of the books in the series. It still continues where it left off with in the first books.
Personal Response I liked this book alot because it was very suspenseful and you never knew what was going to happen next, I also liked this book because it was some teenages saving the world from a zombie outbreak. Another awesome thing about this book is they get to meet the guy that accidentally made everyone zombies. The book was overall good compared to the rest of the series.
Plot Summary In this book there were 4 friends that were still alive after a zombie outbreak and they are searching how to stop it and bring everyone back to life. In the start they had a helicopter to get around that they got from the army base, but when they went to fill it up a zombie stole it and crashed it. After there helicopter was broke they found a car along the highway that was still running they got in it and went to a nearby gas station. They were loading up on snacks and gas for the car when the phone rang, the person on the other end was the president he told them to go back to the capitol with the antidote. The kids didn't want to go back to the capitol because they wanted to give the antidote to their parents. They then go to the Mall of America where they get trapped by 2 guys their same age and they want the antidote for themselves. They then come up with a plan to give them a fake antidote and then leave. Once they made the antidote and gave it to the guys they wanted to try it and see if it worked, which it didn't so they fought their way out of the mall. After they Got away from the mall they decided to go to the guy that started the outbreaks house. Once they got there they found out that he didn't mean to do it and he was willing to help copy the antidote. In no time he copied the antidote and made a new one and put it on popcorn. Once the antidote was finished they tried it on their zombified friend Rice and it worked. Knowing that the antidote worked they made a lot of it and started spreading it all around the world.
Recommendation I would recommend this book to middle school and above because they would understand and enjoy it the most. I would also recommend this book to the male gender because they talk about zombies and rotten flesh.
Characterization The person that progressed the most throughout the book was Zach because he went from not wanting to be around the zombies to protecting his friends from them. Another thing that Zach did was demand that the doctor make a cure for the zombies that he made. He had major courage and was caring to all the zombies because he knew that his parents were also zombies.
Summary: This is the third book in a series, where the team of kid zombie chasers is traveling across the country trying to end the zombie apocalypse with an antidote.
Characteristics that support the genre: Zombies
Writing traits: Presentation: This book is presented in a fun way with the zombie chasers all being kids. There are black and white drawings on approximately every other page. Some intricate whole page zombie drawings throughout. Organization: The book is a little over 200 pages long, organized into chapters each around 10 pages long.
Classroom Integration: This book could be read by students on their own who are interested in zombies.
I think this was an amazing book! It had a shocking ending. There were good adjectives describing a character or place. I like how the beginning started off where the last book ended, where they were in the helicopter. My favorite part was when they were in the mall getting supplies for the road trip to reverse the zombie infection. And when they were in the lab making the cure for the virus, I thought the series was over! And I liked how the cure was popcorn with Madison's DNA.

Solid ending to the first 3 books. Seems relatively obvious this is where the series should have ended, but it was picked up for more books. Typical of the series, full of action, gross out humor and banter between the kids.
Two days after the zombie apocalypse has begun, siblings Zac and Zoe along with their friends Rice, Madison and Ozzie, are ready to save the world. They have the antidote! (Details about that can probably be found in Volume 2.) Now they have to drive across the zombie-infested United States to replicate the antidote and cure all the zombies. Yes, this is for younger readers. The zombies are to be fought off and contained but not killed. Kloepfer is able to strike a precarious balance between gross out humor and minimal levels of violence. This is written for the Diary of a Wimpy Kid crowd who have heard about zombies but are not quite ready for actual undead mayhem.
Be prepared for ridiculousness. A climactic scene takes place in the aquarium inside the Mall of America, battling zombie sharks. Puns as well as made-up words (“chomputated”) pepper the writing. Steve Wolfhard’s childlike illustrations ramp up the level of humor and grossness, with chapter numbers drawn as severed limbs. This books is for readers who want disgusting and silly, not for readers who want a well-crafted tale. Volume #4 is due to be published in April of next year.
The Zombie Apocalypse is occurring. "RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! There everywhere." " BRAINS." The book is about a group of five friends named: Zack, Ozzie, Zoe, Madison, and Rice. This group of friends are running for their lives from zombies. The plot in this story is to try and stay alive, and to rescue everyone that changed into a zombie and change them back into a human again. The theme of "The Zombie Chasers Sludgment Day" is all about survival and making smart actions. This book is an interesting book about how kids have to survive by themselves and make smart choices about what they do, because one mistake can change them into a zombie. There were many obstacles that the group of five friends had to face for insistent: other humans, transportation, food, supplies, water, and of course zombies. If you are interested in a book about surviving the zombie apocalypse then you should hurry and start reading this book series. Also If you like suspense this book is a book for you.
The 3rd book in the Zombie Chasers series. This book is rated for 8-12yr olds and I think they may have been very generous in that assessment. It's predictable, stupid, disgusting, and uses super small words. My almost 6yr old is ready to start reading them as they definitely appeal to him and the vocabulary is simple enough that he won't need much help. The downside, I'll have to listen to them.
If you have a child in the marketed age range that is looking for total fluff and is just starting to get into reading and you are trying to encourage that, they are fine. Otherwise, run the other direction. I've only read them because my 10yr old was a very reluctant reader and these finally helped him turn that around and I'm being supportive but honestly, I can feel my IQ dropping by several points every time I turn the page.
Zack is a boy who is in a zombie apocalypse. Wanted to unzombiefy his parents with an antidote that he has. But then on his trip back to his parents he stops at a supermarket at a gas station and hears the phone ringing so he picks it up and it was the president who knew were he was and the president commands him to go somewhere othe city and duplicate this antidote in a secret lab. So Zack went on a long adventure and finally found the lab. Then they duplicated the antidote and they said that they should test it on a zombie first so they do and it happens to be it was Zacks friend who recently was turned into zombie that was gonna be tested and when they gave him the antidote Zack's feelings were so strong he did not know what to say. This book is about leadership, Perseverancse, and trust.
Can the kids get the cure to those who need it before they themselves become zombies?
With a trip that includes zombie Elvis impersonators, a purchase of a Winnebago, a visit to Mall of America, a giant Ketchup bottle involving a tornado, and the headquarters that started it all, fans of the series will find themselves satisfied.
The illustrations that accompany this novel help enhance the storytelling, bringing it to a new level of grossness, which is why young readers will enjoy it. I love it because I love a good zombie tale, especially one that is aimed at younger readers.
If you have a reluctant reader in your household - especially a boy age 9+ - you might want to consider this series.
The fight against the living dead goes cross country in "Zombie Chasers; Sludgement Day". The Clarke siblings and their ragtag band of teenagers have developed a cure to the recent zombie outbreak and are on the move, road trip style. With the cure in tow, they visit several different U.S. landmarks and try to uncover the secret of the infection.
God I love this book. Regardless of its' reading level, you can't deny its' strange, slimy appeal. I really appreciate how the female characters are used to further the plot, and can hold their own in a horde of the undead; as opposed to them being damsels in distress. The pages are dotted with ghastly illustrations of zombies, similar to the "Origami Yoda" series. In general, the book is a fun read, and will surely delight young readers.
Sludgement Day by John Kloepfer is a great book. It is about this kid named Zack. After coming from school one day Zack soon finds out that a zombie outbreak has occurred. He finds friends and together they fight the flesh-eating zombies.
I thought that this book was good. I liked how there was action and that there was some very important parts in the book. I also liked how that there was a cure to the virus so the series didn't go on for to long. I'd give this book 4.5 stars.
I recommend this book ton people who like action and mysterious books.I really liked this book and I hope you like this book.
Our reader spent more time with the drawings than the writing. She kept asking "what's happening" and we kept saying "you need to read to find out." Eventually, she settled into the book but got bored about halfway through.
I also read this one back then which was the first one read that is why I loved to read Zombie Chasers. I really liked reading this book because it has so much dialogue. But I really want to now what happens in the end. Because when I read Zombie books it really have a happy ending or a sad ending.
Zack,Zoe,Rice,Madison, and Ozzie wanted to go to Montana to get the cure to the man who created burger dog but its really far, so they bought a RV for 10,000 and started their stop, then they made a stop at mall and there were bullies there so they took what they can and continued the trip.
I Think This Book Is Amazing When The Zombies Attack , This Book Is The Best Horror Book I Read And Kids That Loves Horror Or Zombie Books May Like This Book Thank You For Reading This Text
