The terrorist attack . . .Dawson Tate . . . What if nothing is as it appears to be? When the unexpected happens, Rachel Saunders must unravel the web of secrets surrounding her boyfriend's work with Homeland Security and their relationship. While confronted with new facts about Dawson's mysterious ex from Florida and the attentions of DHS agent Garrett Matthews, Rachel must find a way to save the man she can no longer trust. Will anything or anyone survive after the truth is revealed and the mirage fades?
Rachel is one tough Montana cookie! what an exciting heroine! Add to that, two gorgeous male Homeland Security agents and you have the makings of a great romantic suspense ! I love her fast moves! I was thrilled to read this second installment in the Tru Exceptions Series. It kept me on the edge of my seat! I was caught right up in the action. I am not a sharp-shooter or karate expert, but I felt like one from Amanda Tru's accurate, detailed descriptions of the scenes! I love suspense and romance and this book delivers both! Read this book and get caught up in the excitement!
This was a good follow up to the first book in this series, Baggage Claim. I really like Rachel and Dawson's characters. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
Much like the first one really like the character of Rachel but don't really feel like the plot was as good. Still enjoyed it though, overall a good read.
I recently finished reading Mirage, by Amanda Tru. Tru is an elementary school teacher, and a mother to three little boys. Amanda Tru lives along with her family in a small town in Idaho. This story is full of adventures, suspense, and romance. It follows the sequel from the first book Baggage Claim. Rachel is a Montana girl who had been involved in a terrorist attack in New York. She meets a Homeland Security Agent, who she dislikes at the beginning but end up falling for each other. Dawson, the Agent moves in with her back in Montana, his job is very dangerous and do not speak of it much with her. One day Dawson goes missing and the only way he can be rescued is if Rachel joins Homeland Security, her plans are only to sign in to help rescue Dawson. She ends up with a handsome partner who is not afraid of showing her how he feels. Later on she finds out Dawson is engaged to another woman who lives in Florida. Rachel and her partner Garrett go out to investigate and find clues that would help them find him. It turns out that Dawson’s fiancé’s dad, Mr. Riley is the one that kidnapped him, so now Rachel and Garrett with the help of other agents must go out to find him in Mr. Riley’s house. As soon as they found Dawson they manage to get out alive from the bodyguards hired by Mr. Riley. Dawson later on had a lot to explain to Rachel. Although Rachel was in between two man, she chose Dawson over Garrett. The point of this book in my opinion was maybe to show the readers that a regular person can make a difference. In this case Rachel was basically the hero because she was the one who discover the clues who helped the most in this investigation to rescue Dawson. Anyone is capable of doing whatever they set their minds to. I personally loved this book it was full of action and suspense, which those two categories are my favorite. Over all Tru did a good job when writing this book, it really catches your attention from the begging. Every chapter left you with that feeling of “what is going to happen next…” I would recommend this book to those who are mature enough, due to some inappropriate content, but over all those who like adventure, suspense, and romance, well this book has it all.
I absolutely loved this book! read the first one yesterday and already had to buy the second one! Rachel is not your typical female character, love that she's tough, brave, and independent, but still displays the insecurities of any woman who sees her man with someone else. i thoroughly enjoyed the action, suspense, and mystery as it is my favorite genre. the author did a great job of weaving it all together and making every page an exciting one. just like the first, it is jam packed with action and exciting scenes and i really enjoy reading about how Rachel takes down man after man. as someone who is none of those characteristics, i deeply admire Rachel and her boldness! i will be reading the third book tomorrow and can't wait to see what other adventures are in store for Rachel & Dawson!
. The story has adventure it has the suspense and romance. I have read other books by Amanda and have just loved them. She knows how to write a good Christian Romance . Has romance but in a good tasteful way. I love the adventure of Rachel and Dawson . Dawson is in trouble and the only way Rachel can even help is by joining Homeland Security. She signs up only to get to Dawson. Then in the picture comes another handsome agent Garret and he isn’t afraid to show her how he feels. Her mind is set on Dawson then news comes out he is engaged. How can that be he loves Rachel what secrets has he kept from her? Mirage get this book full of excitement you won’t want to put it down. I look forward to the next adventure. I know it kept me on my toes. Love Amanda’s writing style.
This book picks up 6 months after Book 1 ends. Homeland Security agent Dawson Tate has gone missing, and the only way they will let Rachel help find him is if she joins Homeland Security. It doesn't take long for her to earn the respect of the other agents. And she especially has caught the eye of her new partner Garrett Matthews. And she is finding out that Dawson hasn't been completely honest with her... At times she wants to find him before the bad guys kill him, and at other times she wants to find him so she can kill him herself.
It is a fun read, with some emotional moments. Rachel is the kind of kick butt girl you want to be. I don't want to ruin anything for you so I will just say; This isn't really a love triangle but Garret is introduced and she has to decide who to choose. The story has a healthy dose of clean romantic tension and danger at every turn. More of their faith is introduced in this book but it is not preachy. Recommend and looking forward to the next one and hoping Kelsey gets her own book. For more info regarding the level of sex, violence, alcohol and language check out MoreThanaReview.
This series had kept me on the edge of my seat the whole three books! From the very first it was full of action, suspend and romance! I love how the author has woven in each of these books the strength a personal faith in God, and how it can hold you up during trying times. I highly recommended reading this series! If you're like me you won't be able to put it down until the last book is read!
4.5 stars, interesting story. Dawson is missing and homeland won't let her know what's going on. So Rachel can be involved in the case she finally agrees to Andrews job proposal ( Dawson boss). Rachel not too happy when she finds out her boyfriend has a current finance, and is really to kill him herself.
This is a sequel to Baggage Claim, and it is full of adventure with each page turn. Rachel's boyfriend works for Homeland Security and goes missing. Rachel needs to find him, somehow. She is just the tough little cookie that can do it too. You will enjoy this book!
This was a really quick read with lots of exciting action. I enjoyed it, despite the slightly unbelievable interactions between some of the characters. It was like watching a great spy movie with a little romance tossed in.
Tru hit her stride in this book. While the first book in the series was good, this one was even better...the writing, the characters, the storyline, everything. Can't wait to see what Rachel does next!
While this did not have quite the rapid-fire delivery of book one, it came in a close second! I thought this was a great continuation of the story of "Montana and Hollywood." I look forward to reading book 3. This was an incredibly quick read,
Fun, suspenseful, and romantic. Clean story, and interesting. After her boyfriend goes missing, she starts to search for clues to his disappearance, and ends up part of homeland security.
A little more substance in this 2nd book in the series
I really liked _Baggage Claim_, the first book in the series. This was a good read too, but I'm not sure I liked it as much as the first book. This one did have more adventure and mystery than romance, and the characters actually talked about Christianity in terms of their jobs with Homeland Security. That was really interesting to me. The story moved along quickly and it held my interest throughout. So why wasn't I have satisfied with this book as I was with the first? Maybe it's because the characters were familiar to me now and the new characters didn't really have any depth. But this is still a good read and I enjoyed it.
