IF I CAN’T HAVE YOU, NO ONE WILL
The story is one that keeps the pages turning, with a great cast of characters, and charming animals. The story is a harrowing tale of survival, fear, evil, secrets, deceit, life and death, and new beginnings.
McKenzie Reynolds is a woman on the run from an evil man, her husband, Anthony. What started out as a sweet and loving marriage changed to violence, sadistic behavior, beatings, and torture. Finally escaping his clutches with her beloved golden, Maverick, she has been hiding in Goochland, Virginia.
Dr. Diego Mitchell has left his life and nightmares behind in Montana, and with the help and encouragement of his friend, Drew, he has come to Virginia to open a veterinarian practice. He has his own demons that he is dealing with.
The plot will have a late December severe thunderstorm setting this entire tale into motion. With the boogeyman showing up at McKenzie’s doorstep, a terrible fight and beating and her and Maverick fleeing in during the storm. Diego will be heading home from a party at Drew’s house with limited visibility and hit a dog. It will become a life and death rescue to save Maverick and protect McKenzie that night and into the future. Two people will bond during a tragedy and end up saving each other from the past.

The story is a wonderful romantic mystery suspense, with intense scenes, along with arsons, murder, and more. The story will unfold slowly without giving too much away, keeping the pages turning and the suspense in play. Two people will have to be honest with each other, share the truth about the demons of their past before they can heal and move forward. McKenzie came from a home that used domestic discipline and had wanted that in her marriage until her husband became abusive. Diego enjoys a domestic discipline relationship, and he senses what McKenzie needs. The chemistry between Diego and McKenzie sizzles off the pages as they play with erotic spankings and explicit sex scenes.

This book had me on edge from beginning to end. The suspense was unrelenting through cautious romance, loving discipline, hot sex, an ever present undercurrent of danger, and a heartwarming love of animals. Maverick is well-loved and loyal to the core. He's terrified of abusive Anthony, but will do anything to protect McKenzie. McKenzie is a great character, loving in nature but full of conflict after years of abuse by a man she once loved. She does her best to be brave and will risk her life for Maverick. She knows she hasn't always made the best choices. Although she's independent and strong, she craves a loving man to discipline and protect her. After all she's been through, will she be able to love and trust again? Diego is another great character full of conflict. Loving and dominant, he too wonders whether he can love and trust again, even as he's drawn to McKenzie. He has secrets, too dark to share; even his best friend Drew doesn't know the whole story. It seems everyone is keeping secrets, not knowing who to trust. One thing is certain; the lust between McKenzie and Diego is electric and leads to excellently written spanking and erotic scenes. Everything else is a mystery in this must-read book.

I am loving the Missoula Bad Boys series, each story has its own unique storyline full of action, intrigue and adventure. Although I’ve read some of Piper’s books that I find the spankings over the top, she seems to have toned down the Missoula boys, which is making them very enjoyable to read. I have only read one book in the Montana Boys series, so I will have to finish that series off too.

Amelie Rathbone hates her father, Carmine Rathbone. She has for many years. With all of his friends in powerful places, he now has the largest investment company in, Chicago. But, for how long? That is the question. Amelie has noticed the stock dropping. She just wants, to finish the last semester of vet school. That way she can walk away from her father, and his threats. Today she has been summoned to her father’s office. She has no clue why, but she has a bad feeling about this visit. It feels off. Boy, she is correct.
Her father informs her she will not be returning to vet school next semester, they are packing up her apartment as they speak, and her car is being impounded. Basically, he has taken over her life. And sold her to the highest bidder namely his bookie. Giovanni, the head of the mafia. But, Amelia has plans, and sitting around being verbally and physically abused by, Gio is not her jam. She needs the proof to put her father away and then she needs to unalive, Gio.
Once she won, Gio’s trust by going, to events with him, and being his dutiful fiance. He wasn't as possessed in, having her on a leash. She executed her escape. Off to find the proof of where her lost clue came from on her eighteenth birthday. When she gets lost out on one of her hikes taking pics, and you don't see her with proper gear for the elements, that can change more than twice a day. That sends major red flags for him meaning tourists. Maverick takes Sam his dog to search and finds this sexier than Haide's woman but she needs warmth and first aid. Who better to help? But, when he finds out later a fugitive is out looking for someone like her. Earlier was, better than late.
No matter how boisterous the two got with each other, how sassy, or pissy and rude they could be there was this sexual tension just under the surface. Causing a lust to burn thru them igniting at a breaking point and leaving them both sated and fulfilled. Something they new deep down was a gift they had never found before and may never find again but could they truly learn to love again?
This a steamy robust sexy book, about a couple with an overly eager appetite, for each other. So, if you're not into that, then I don't know why you chose this book. But, if you are into a couple healing each other, as well as their friends. Oh! I need to add that, also healing from the ghost of their past, this is a book for you. They do like spanking.

Part of the Missoula Bad Boys series each back be read as a standalone but why read just one because you will be hooked from book one so read them all but isn’t necessary each with a sexy and the women who captures his undivided attention. Amelie such a strong woman who wasn’t dealt the best hand especially after her father sales her to a monster of a man, so she runs straight into the mountains at a loss as how to protect or live in the mountains and just when things seem to be hopeless, she is saved by a grumpy man. Maverick sexy as all get out retired marine likes his solitude up in the mountains occasionally works in tracking fugitive with the US Marshals feeling like he can never atone for an accident that happen years ago and never figuring out how to let the guilt go so when he finds a woman in the mountains, he saves her from a certain death. The attraction is instant, it is intense, and the pull has him sticking around but he also she is hiding something, but he also has secrets but giving up on her isn’t an option. She woke the one part of him that he hasn’t felt beat in a long time so encouraging her to stay helping her is a way of helping himself and the more he learns about her the stronger his protective instinct so learning she is looking for answers surrounding her mother’s death that could lead her to death or something worse he isn’t going to let that happen but will she get the answers she is looking for, will the man she was sold to find her considering he is a part of the mafia, will they figure out they are stronger together than a part all secrets need to be revealed, they must be on the same page in order to stop who is after her, heal his guilt, and can they find a happiness?.

Maverick grew up in Missoula and ran with five guys and a girl. Then tragedy struck when she died changing all their lives forever. He joined the marines trying to run from his demons as guilt ate him alive. After serving his country he returns only to isolate himself with his trusty sidekick a dog named Sam in a cabin in the mountains. He's known for his tracking skills and takes on jobs to find people who are missing or on the run from the law. That's how he met Lily when she doesn't return after a hike. Hot, sweet, emotional, and engrossing, “Maverick” is everything! This story is magic! Reality slips away as I am transported into the scene set by the author, and into the lives of these beautifully drawn and defined characters! I can “see” the mountains, the rooms of the buildings, and all the precious pups! I can “feel” the breeze on my face, and “smell” the crisp mountain air. I get a crystal clear “picture” of the characters. They come vibrantly ALIVE as I listen. Brilliantly, beautifully narrated, the lines they speak resonate as real, so real I can easily believe they have been spoken, as they WOULD have been spoken had this story actually taken place in life! My heart leaps into my throat as the breath robbing tension grips me, holding me for just long enough before resolution in the form of answers releases me, allowing me to breathe! Along the path of this riveting journey, sweet, naughty, delectable, HEAT, perfectly timed and perfectly placed, combines with just the right touches of sass and humor to add exquisite balance to a beautifully emotional journey! A journey that leaves me teary-eyed, spent and satisfied as I look forward to the next time I can visit with these beautiful characters, some I know well through this and the previous books, and others whose stories I’ve yet to hear (hint, hint dear author). This is book 3 in The Missoula Bad Boys series and I think out of the 3 books that I have listened to Maverick is my favourite.
I Love a rugged mountain man and Maverick is the perfect one, an ex marine who made his way back to Missoula when his Military career was done.
Now a Mountain tracker he lives a solitary life in his cabin with his dog Sam,he has a reputation for being unapproachable and mean..His latest job is to find a lost hiker on the mountain.
Amelie aka Lily is on the run no she is no criminal she is in hiding from an abusive relationship,and the dangerous man she was made to be with.She was in a relationship she never wanted but was forced into by her father...And she was just a prisoner and needed to escape so when the opportunity arrived to escape she took it..But she was stuck in the mountains and a storm was coming,and then Maverick appeared.
Maverick Rescued Lily but there was no time to get her back to the hotel she was staying at so they are stuck in Mavericks cabin until its safe.
The attraction is instant and they are unable to contain the passion,Maverick at that moment claims her as his and whatever or whomever she is running from..Well they better watch out because Maverick protects what is his and Lily definately was.
I really loved listening to this story which was Narrated once again by Skylar Morgan who plays all the male and female characters in this book.
He does an Amazing performance and it is always a joy to listen to him.
Maverick by Piper Stone is an action packed steamy story and a fabulous audiobook to enjoy I loved it.
Excellent.

This is a fast-paced action filled read that you will start and then like myself not be able to put down until you reach the end and discover the outcome which I guarantee you will not anticipate.
Maverick had come back from his tour of duty a very much changed man and was living in the solitude of the mountains shack when he found a woman on the mountain, lost and totally unprepared Maverick rescues her and he had taken her into his care.
The weather as unpredictable as ever closes in around them and they are trapped together for some time, whilst Lily Sunburn is with him her reckless behaviour and sharp tongue is in need of a lesson and Maverick is happy to take her across his knee until tears flow and retribution is felt.
As they spend time together the feelings for her strengthen and he knows that he will do whatever it takes to keep her safe no matter the risk to himself.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.

Maverick of the Missoula Bad Boys was called in to search for a lost woman on Sapphire Mountain. It was never easy for him to search for anyone on that mountain, but he went in search of a lost tourist, Amelie Rathbone. He was not happy as he could tell there was a storm coming in. Amelie was on the run in Missoula from her father and her Chicago Mobster fiance trying to learn about her mother's death years ago as she believed her father had her mother killed. She felt everyone was a threat to her including Maverick, but he did finally her getting her to safety for the night. That started a more or less courtship as neither one could seem to forget the other one, and he knew she was hiding something kicking in his protective skills. There were some leaks somewhere in some information getting out for a hit man to be sent to the mountain and the fiance being in town. When he was confirmed to still be in Chicago. These issues were never discussed which I found questionable to the cohesiveness of the complete story. The Missoula Bad Boys were all back in town for the first time ever and stronger than ever. They were actually starting to settle down between themselves getting over the loss of Belle. A powerful story of love.

This book started out on a level of high intensity. Amelie was strong and confident and then the bottom fell out of her world. Both Carmine and Giovanni were not only heartless, but dangerous.
I loved that she used her intelligence and inner strength to go on the run. Her unexpected encounter with Maverick was also intense. I liked their chemistry and connection. I also appreciated the way Amelie would stand her ground with Maverick.
One thing I couldn't figure out was her keeping the secret from Maverick while she constantly professed her trust in him. That is something that bothers me in books when the FMC keeps something from MMC to protect him. Forget that he is/was some form of special ops, military, LEO, tracker, wilderness guide, etc., or whatever specialty is pertinent to her problem.
Much of the tension and suspense in this book came from waiting for the two main characters to share their secrets, Maverick tracking a fugitive, and the fallout from Maverick tracking the fugitive.
It will be interesting to see where Maverick and Amelie's HEA leads to as each Missoula Bad Boy finds his significant other.

Maverick is a mountain tracker, and when he is sent to find Lily, who is lost, he thinks he's going after just another tourist who ignored the weather and road conditions. He rescues her from a cliff, and vows to protect her. Lily is on the run from some very bad men, and she thinks they're close to finding her. Maverick is the only one who will be able to keep her safe long enough to take them down, and he just may have found a bride in the bargain.
Lily is so very vulnerable. Feisty and sassy, yes, but also vulnerable. Maverick has his own demons and vulnerabilities, and when he realizes he has fallen for her, and she for him, it is beautiful. Sam the dog features prominently, and Lily falls for him before she does Maverick. Their happily ever after, with the characters from previous books in the series included, is perfect for them. With only a locket and photo that she received postmarked from Missoula, she feels the truth is hidden here. She sets out on a hike to photograph nature, though unprepared for the incoming weather. Thankfully, Maverick is tasked with tracking her on the mountain who has his own demons from this mountain, but his skills are spot on in locating Lily. Loved their story!
This was such a good book. 2 damaged souls come together and know that they are meant to be together - forever. Amelie arrives in town looking for answers while at the same time hiding from the monster her father sold her to. Maverick, works at times at search and rescue and for the US Marshal's Service while at the same time trying to live with the guilt and self-disgust over a tragic accident that happened when he was a teen.
Maverick is a grumpy loner who instead of washing his hands of her after he rescues her from an ill-planned trip into the mountains, starts finding ways to ensure she begins to put down roots. Amelie is searching for answers about her mother's death years ago all the while hiding from her father and mafia jailer she was sold to. But soon, both must address their past traumas if they have any hope to build a future together. This is a fast paced, suspenseful hot romance. I enjoyed it a lot!.

Oh my goodness this book is so amazing awesome to read I love every part of it and couldn’t put it down! From all the mystery from the main girl past to the steamy hot guy who doesn’t know how to handle what she brings out in him. It will keep you wanting more and falling in the love with the wonderful characters it’s a page turner with so much steamy energy and so much more! I love how it feels like we are on a mystery adventure to find the truth about what really happened to the main girl character with what her crazy hateful father made or do among all the other things he did. From the beginning your want to know what happened it’s impossible not to get sucked into this book lol! The main girl character is very independent strong woman which I also love and protect dog Sam he is amazing too thank goodness for the happy ending! There are a lot of funny moments too so much to enjoy about this book don’t miss out!! :).

This is my first book from this author and I will definitely be reading more. Starting with the first book of this series.
Maverick is book 3 but can be read as a complete standalone without hindering your enjoyment.
Both Maverick and Amelie have pasts that have shaped them and left them feeling damaged and alone. Maverick lives in the past and fights his demons daily by killing and tracking, first in the marines and now working as a tracker of tourists and dangerous men.
Amelie is on the run, trusts noone and is fighting for her life. When her and Maverick meet it is explosive. Although time wise this story could be considered insta love, due to the solid and character development, the amount of drama and stress these two are under it doesn't feel that way.
You will find great suspense, instant fire that is rough and romantic and captivating story telling.
I absolutely loved it and can't wait for the rest of the boys stories.

OMG! Wow, this book was exhilarating I just couldn't put it down, the storyline was mesmerising and the characters were captivating. This story was about Maverick and Amelie. Maverick is a handsom, Grumpy, obsessive, possessive, Bad boy. He has lived in Missoula most of his life only to leave for the Marines, he owns his own cabin up in the mountains with his dog Sam. Amelie was running away from her horrible father, fearing for her life she went to Missoula she drove up the mountain when her car broke down, she got out of the car and started to walk when she slipped off the edge. 'Maverick' is the third book in Piper Stone's "Missoula Bad Boys" series. If you've been following along as they've been released, you'll remember our initial introduction to Maverick in her second book, 'Snake', and if you're like me, was hoping for his story. Maverick is home from serving his country but he holes up in his cabin in the mountains while blaming himself for the death of the woman loved by himself and five others. Amelie is on the run from not only her father but the man he sold her to. Two damaged hearts with trust issues are drawn to each other. It's an emotional push and pulls with twists and turns as only Piper Stone can bring. I'm hoping Ms. Stone continues the series to let us know the stories of the others because, right now, she's on a winning streak with these bad boys.

Love the Missoula Bad Boys and Maverick has quickly became my favorite. The story is full of action, danger and unexpected romance. His relationship with Amelie is explosive but full of love and understanding. Both Maverick and Amelie have demons from their past but together they become strong and relentless. The H/h characters are well developed and the secondary ones add a lot to the story. This is an excellent story that is a great addition to the series. I loved it and would highly recommend it as a great read.

There is never a Piper Stone story that I won't read. This was was fantastic. Amelia/Lily is on the run for her life when she meets Maverick. Maverick knows that Amelia is on the run but he take her to his cabin and spanks her bottom while a snowstorm raging outside. With one look Maverick knows she's the one. They both have demons as they both have secrets, lies, guilt, danger, and passion and they are superhot together. Will Maverick be able to keep Amelia safe as she's running from them man her father sold her to.? Do they get their HEA?.

Loved the narration of Skyler Morgan, who brings out the action, pace, romance and steam. Perfect.

Amelie is rescued by Maverick but we don’t know why she is on the run or the secrets she is hiding. Maverick is just like Snake and wants little to do with anyone else until Amelie comes into his life. As we slowly learn her secrets and Sam saves her life Maverick falls deeply in love and their relationship is so steamy. All the Missoula bad boys make an appearance as well as some of the smokejumpers, it was good to catch up,with them all. An interesting story with some heat and an adorable dog and of course a really sweet ending.

Lily Sanborn is on the run from the man her father gave her too when she gets lost in the hills. Maverick rescues her but then they are trapped by a storm. Lily is scared that she is being hunted and she worries that people around her will get hurt. Maverick is still suffering from guilt when a friend died in a forest fire when he was a teenager, but Lily might be able to help him.
I loved this story. Lily is trying to rescue herself from a bad background.

Oh this was another great read from Piper Stone. Lily is a smart and determined girl who wants to see her father punished. She lands in Missoula, MT pursuing a lead that her mother may have left clues for her there. She manages to capture and calm, but not domesticate Maverick. He is just the right amount of dominant for her. She quickly starts to carve out a niche in his world. He and his friends are able to jump in and helps her stay ahead of her dad and the mob. A really great hot, rough sexy read.

If you're looking for an action-packed, angsty, passionate read then this is for you. Amelie and Maverick are characters it was easy to become invested in, and their story is on fire. I love how brave and determined Amelie is even knowing the danger that surrounds her. I love how strong and protective Maverick is. He's determined to protect her. She's determined to be independent. Th tension is high and it adds an explosive quality to their chemistry. It's the perfect Alpha male/sassy female trope that I love so much.

Lily, aka Amelie, has become lost in the mountain and Maverick has been sent to rescue her. She is running from a forced marriage to a Chicago mafia kingpin. Terrified that Maverick, a huge intimidating mountain man, may have been sent by her father or her future husband, fights him off. However, his alpha personality takes over and she can't resist him. Loved the characters! Maverick may be gruff and a rough lover, but he has a heart of gold. And poor Lily only feels safe in his arms. And the dogs only add more love! Great book in a wonderful series!
