From a very young age, I knew I was different from everyone else, and for a long time, I was made to believe that being different was something to be ashamed of.
The way I acted and talked got me in trouble most days, but I could do nothing about it. I learned to accept that I was wired this way.
Until him.
Until the boss of one of the oldest and most powerful underground crime organizations in America showed me there’s beauty in my rarity.
Rian O’Sullivan.
Some call him Godfather.
The underground king without a crown.
My family’s enemy.
Now?
My fiancé.
RIAN
I always knew that one day I would be king. It was just a matter of time.
I lived, breathed, and bled for the title.
The boss of Philadelphia.
It was all I cared about, second to my all-consuming need to make the three crime families of Detroit pay for their sins against my blood.
Revenge burned ferociously in my veins.
Until her.
Until the youngest Parisi princess.
A priceless jewel, hidden away in an ivory tower treated as if she were something to be embarrassed of.
The forgotten Parisi some called her.
To me, she is the star that shines even when hidden in the dark.
The one I never saw coming.
The one I did not ask for.
My future wife.
This is book 7th in the Unholy Trinity series by author Adriana Brinne.
Adriana Brinne, is a new author who fell in love with reading from a very young age but never felt brave enough to share her words with the world. Born and raised on the enchanting island of Puerto Rico, Adriana’s tropical upbringing imbued her with a deep appreciation for beauty and storytelling. By day, she navigates the world of computer science as a full-time tech, but when she’s off the clock, she indulges in her favorite contemporary romances written by her favorite authors and binge-watches The Big Bang Theory.
Adriana’s writing is characterized by her love for sweet and spicy romance, soft yet strong female protagonists, and grumpy heroes who secretly adore them. While she delights in exploring a variety of romantic tropes, she steers clear of themes involving cheating or death, preferring to craft stories that evoke all the feels without those heavy dark elements.
I found this fucking book because of a reel on ig, and wtf was this😩 The mmc becomes obsessed with the h when she was fucking 14😭 while he was 24/25 WTF. He's just waiting for her to be legal, and in the meantime they exchange emails and she doesn't know it's him, this was a really fucked up book🥴🤢
This was my first Adriana Bronze story and I wasn't sure what to expect, but I ended up really enjoying it! I picked it because it had a heroine that's on the autism spectrum which I love since I have two girls on the spectrum. Its book number 7 in a series and it did take me a bit to understand what was going on, I definitely believe I would have been better off starting from the first book. There are just a lot of names thrown around at first.
It really was just a beautiful story. We have the sweet, sheltered heroine with the jaded mafia man who has been in her life from afar since she was 14. He's completely fascinated and obsessed with her. With her beauty, both on the outside and inside. Truly beautiful storytelling with interesting characters you definitely want to hear more about. I think I'm most excited by the thought of their daughter having her story.
I would like to caveat that while I gave the story a 5⭐ rating, it *really* could use better editing. Misspelled words, typos, and punctuation and grammar errors were pretty distracting, but I know editors can be expensive for newer authors so 🤷🏻♀️, take my rating for what it is, A reflection of the story. Ill definitely be reading this author again, but hopefully the next book will be cleaned up a bit better.
DNF @10% - same old same old - simping beta hero obsessed for no reason whatsoever. About as deep as a puddle. The grown man emailing a teen girl was creepy.

I liked Mila, she was interesting and new and just wholesome but the age gap wasn't a wise choice it made uncomfortable especially when he says she "𝙝𝙞𝙨" or how "𝙥𝙪𝙧𝙚" and "𝙙𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙚'' she's? was also so creepy because why's a 24 yo stalking, "𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜" and thinking Abt a 14 yo girl???? Just gross
If I could give ♾️ stars I would…. This was my absolute favourite book this year and I am so lucky to have received an ARC…
This was actually my first Adriana Brinne story I’ve read so now I’m going to go to the beginning and read the rest
The way Adriana was able to suck you into this story was incredible. The way she wrote Mila’s character gave an amazing insight to the way some people live with Asperger’s syndrome. Mila, such a sensitive soul was a beautiful, innocent, intelligent FMC who took everything thrown at her in your life in her stride and always came out with a smile and her gentle giant Riagan being there to help pull her out of the shadows and show her how much there is to experience in life was so so beautiful. Riagan couldn’t have been more perfect for her, taking the time to get to know her and slow his pace down so she is 100% comfortable in life. I tried numerous reading this love story.
This two have my whole heart Thank you for writing such complex and incredible characters
I didn't read a single book in this series, so I pretty much had no idea what was going on mafia-wise 😭 but I can say that this romance was so sweet. I love Mila with my whole heart, and I'm so happy she got her HEA.
As someone who always complains about books not having enough domestic scenes and being too short 💀, just know that this story FED me. I loved the amount of little things we got to see.
I don't know if I'll properly start or continue this series, but this was fun! It wasn't perfect (there were quite a few errors), but all in all I enjoyed it.
3 ⭐️ should be more like 3.5. First time reading this author. Once I got a few chapters in, I started to enjoy the story. Maybe the writing style threw me off at first? 🤷♀️
Likes:: I liked how Mila’s disability (Asperger’s) was explained and written. I thought it was really well done. I liked the love story between Riagan and Mila and how he never saw her disability but loved how it made her unique.
Dislikes:: This world is obviously in previous books that I didn’t read so I wasn’t invested in the beginning and that’s on me but…I felt the setup wasn’t explored enough and felt rushed. The ending too.
Annoyed completely with the editor with the tons of incorrect words. Where Mila was supposed to be “content” it was “contempt” just as an example. There were many of these and not saying anything about the author just the proofreader 😳🤦♀️.
I truly didn’t think I’d like an Adriana Brinne book more than Arianna but Mila absolutely captured my heart. I was obsessed with this story from the very first page! Mila was such an incredible character and I loved Riagan’s story as well! Their relationship is one of my absolute favorites! They had such amazing chemistry. Can’t wait for what’s next
I absolutely have zero luck with romance book recommendations I get off of Booktok / instagram reels. Especially the dark romance type. In this case there was just soooo much monologuing and too much of the same things written again and again. The MC's kept saying how much the other was fascinating and was their obsession. To make it worse the MMC saw the FMC when she was 14 and got obsessed with her. Though his feelings admittedly got to be of a non platonic nature after she was 18 (according to the book) I still found it to be a bit creepy. I mean an age gap is fine usually especially if you haven't witnessed that person grow up from their childhood or have met them later on in the younger persons life but this was too much for me. And we never find out how old Riagan is. I was so looking forward to some disability rep and touch her and die and things with both were disappointing.
Here's to hoping I find a book I at lease tolerate the next time. 'Cause I know for a fact I will put myself through this process again.
Plot: Mila is the youngest daughter of Riagan's enemy, a daughter nobody knows exists. Mila's father believes her to be imperfect because of her autism and even though her sisters did the best they could to protect her, her life hasn't been easy. One night, when she is still young, she meets Riagan, about 10 years older than her. The impression she made on him will change his life forever. He feels like his life has purpose and meaning again. He makes sure that she is as safe as possible, with people to watch over her. When the time is right, they will meet again and Mila will learn exactly how much love she deserves and exactly how much Riagan has to give.
Commentary: First, I need to get this out of the way: there is no way that man has a first edition of Romeo and Juliet, whether it was a Quarto of First Folio. I've seen one of them once, in a traveling exhibit. They are kept in airtight, temperature-controlled glass cases so that nobody can just pick them up - because they are precious and fragile.
That aside, I loved this book. It was just one long (looooong) account of absolute sweetness. Everyone needs someone who loves them that much. And Mila deserved someone who loved her in such an over-the-top, unrelenting sort of way. She deserved it so much. She was adorable and had suffered too much.
I'm not going to address the criticism of grooming. I mean, I guess I kind of am. This is a work of fiction, not a recounting of someone's legal case, so I'm not fussed. He broke things off when he realized he felt something more than friendship for her. Obviously he waited for the magical age of 18 before making a move (which is also weird in real life). If their relationship is a trigger for you, obviously don't read (which is why many reviewers said they dnf'ed). I think some of the reactions were over the top, but of course I don't know anything about them to understand why they felt that way. I think calling the author names isn't cool - it's a work of FICTION, not a how-to manual, and just like with TV and the Internet, you can move right past things you don't like. But to each his own, your mileage may very, and all the other cliches.
Grammar/formatting: Quite a few incorrect words - I don't know if they autocorrected or were confused words because of misunderstanding or translation. For example: *There’s no dyeing it any longer. *makes me feel a multitude of emotions I can’t seem to understand even if I want to. It’s freighting. *I lift the end of my jeans, so she can see the white sneakers she costume made for me better. *“You’re incredibly talented.” *“You’re okay, and that won’t be happening again. You have my world, sweet girl.”
Mila was one of the best books written by Adriana Brinne. Her writing is fluid, captivating, coherent and cohesive and even better than the older ones. Adriana approached, with mastery, about autism, the way she talked about the subject was very responsible and respectful.
Mila is a sweet character, it's impossible not to fall in love with her and her sweetness. She is all the good things in the world, and she suffered a lot in life, my heart broke a little after seeing all the things she went through.
Riagan is the typical mobster character, and because of that I felt completely in love with him. He is very grumpy, and his grumpiness matched with Mila's sweetness. Riagan is loyal to the people he care about, he is powerful and strong, very strong. He, along side Sebastian, is my favourite male character from Adriana Brinne.
Mila's and Riagan's relationship were the cutest. They had so much chemistry, so much love for each other. It was impossible not to like them together. Riagan protected Mila from the beginning, and Mila trusted Riagan from the beginning, what turned everything even better.
This really was a feel good story. The writing isn't great, I don't think it was edited properly, it was very long, and there are definitely inconsistencies. But, I am glad I stuck it out. Really sweet (except the attitude at the end)
TROPES: 🦋 Opposites Attract 🦋 Age Gap 🦋 Disability Rep 🦋 Touch Her & Die 🦋 Force Proximity 🦋 Fake Fiancé/Marriage Of Convenience 🦋 He Falls First & Hard
🚨Trigger Warning: Graphic murder & torture Child abuse Foul language Emotional abuse Sexual explicit scenes
Mila: The Godfather is the seventh installment in the 'Unholy Trinity' series, and it does not disappoint.
This book had me feeling all the feels. I screamed, cheered, cried, laughed, and had a few happy dance moments. Oh boy, did I cry.
🦋Mila is the sweetest soul. She is kind, intelligent, and strong. She always tries to find the silver lining in every situation. Mila has autism, but I love how the book didn't let her disability define who she is or make her disability her whole personality, nor a hindrance to who she was. Mila suffered so much growing up. Her father was horrible to her and her sisters. I hope he pays for his sins in the next book.
🥰 Riagan is the book boyfriend I’ve been waiting for. That man is the standard, and I don’t think anyone can top him. @authoradrianabrinne where can I find him? 🥹 Riagan is a ruthless mob boss but would move heaven and earth to make Mila happy and protect The love and respect Riagan has for his father (Cathan) was also touching. Cathan is so supportive of Riagan and only wants to see his son happy. ♥️
The appearance of Mila’s sister Kadra at the end of the book has me counting down the days until her story is released. I’m hoping Kadra gets her her “one day in the sun” like her sisters.
The way Adriana describes scenes. 🥲 It’s as if you can feel what the characters are experiencing. I was in a reading slump for far too long. This book pulled me out. I devoured this book in a day. In fact, I read it twice within three days. This story is beautiful! I didn’t want it to end. Go read Mila or add it to your TBR ASAP.
This book Introduces us to two opposite characters, Mila and Rian, whose paths cross in the most unexpected of ways. Mila, the epitome of innocence and kindness, a charm that radiates from the pages. Her compassion and her belief in the goodness of people is so heartwarming to see.
Rian, a mafia leader whose mere presence exudes an air of authority and danger. His golden retriever-like devotion to Mila is both heartwarming and expected (because our guy is simp for Mila since day 1).
I love how Adriana showed glimpses of the past of both the characters which made me connect to both Mila and Rian more. Rian always being in Mila life through out the years and making sure she is happy god my heart. Mila just being Mila and loving Rian, making sure to do things so she can see his laugh. I felt so light hearted after finishing this book tells how much I enjoyed reading this.
Cathan O’Sullivan
After RianMila, the most loved character would be Cathan, he is the best father for Rian. Seeing RianCathan love for each other is so heartwarming to see. I just wish Cathan would be able to meet his love of the life in after life.

these words. How hard is it to comprehend that cruel words do hurt and cut deep. They have the power to echo in your mind and stab your heart until all it’s left is a bleeding mess. They cut holes into your heart until you start believing them

To begin with, main male character is a pedophile. He first encountered Female main character when he was 24 years old, an adult man, and she was only 14 years old. He becomes obsessed with her, and despite FMC being restricted from leaving her house, he manages to groom her through emails. Keeps and eye on her by planting his men(and women) around her. This is not a dark romance; this is filth.
I know there is always some space for nonsense in fiction, especially in dark romance, but this book is full of nonsense that makes it sometimes unbearable to continue reading. FMC is on the spectrum, and how easily she was getting over all her fears, anxieties, and insecurities is terrible. Any germophobe, let alone someone on the spectrum, cannot get over their phobia by getting a kiss from someone ("love of their life"). This is not magic. How easily she gets into sex is also really poorly written; there is no substance in the sex scenes, especially when they do it for the first time, considering FMC's character.
FMC belongs to a Mafia family, and her father is extremely cunning. After her father, her sister took control of the family, who is also very dangerous, intelligent, and gives off a chilling vibe. However, both of them failed to recognize MMC's men in their house for years, especially around FMC, whom her sister loves very much and is very protective of. Seriously?
The entire novel revolves around the male main character obsessing over the female main character's body, how delicate she is, how beautiful she is, and how he is in love (or rather, obsessed) with her. To me whole story seems a grown man taking advantage of a kid on spectrum.
The epilogue is awful; FMC wants five children but only has one daughter, who also has a disability and is selectively mute. All the MMC's people learn sign language to communicate with the girl (really?). It feels cringeworthy to read that not only did the mafia members of MMC accommodated FMC's special needs, but now they have been portrayed as so kind and good at heart that they are accommodating his daughter by actually learning her language to communicate with her. This seems overly sentimental, to be frank.
And in the epilogue, once again, MMC demonstrates his pedophilic tendencies by suspecting an 8-year-old boy of being sexually attracted to his 6-year-old daughter. God, his mind is truly disturbing.

5/5 Since the moment I first laid eyes on her, she stole a part of me for herself, and now that she's all grown up, there's no need for me to keep her safe from the shadows.
TROPES: ~mafia ~penpals ~age gap ~slow burn ~touch her and die
I fucking love how brilliant and honest she is. It is refreshing nowadays when everyone hides who they are just to fit in or please society. Not her, though. That is not an Asperger's thing but a Mila thing. She's rare, and I can't seem to get enough of her.
Mila has been sheltered and abused her entire life for having Asperger's. When she was a child, she met the hero and was smitten since. They eventually started contacting each other through emails, but that stopped a year ago.
Now, she's in trouble. Guess who comes to her rescue? The big, bad, tattooed mafia man name Riagan, who has watched her from afar for years.
This girl.... this fucking girl with her pretty smile, kind heart, and admirable honesty, has the ability to render me speechless.
They fall for each other. To protect her, he marries her. And that just makes his obsession run deeper.
"Till death do us part, and even then, I'll follow you there too."
I loved this book! It's a slow burn but it's well worth the wait. It's so sweet and heartwarming. Omg, I'm swooning.
Lifting my hand to my chest, I tap it three times, and so does he. Somehow, the gesture stopped being one of comfort but a way for me to communicate with him. To let him know how he makes my heart race and stop at times. How I'm barely able to breathe when he looks at me the way he is doing now. As if I'm the only person he sees in this room. Like I'm the only person who matters. That's how I see it. In a sea of people laughing and cheering him on, there is only us.
SAFETY: Virgin/manwhore/celibate: virgin heroine, celibate hero OM/OW none Cheating/sharing none Triggers: chilhood abuse (heroine), murder, bullying (not from hero) Kinks: praise, "good girl", dirty talk, rough sex HEA?: yes! the epilogues were beautiful too <3
Well who would have thought......Honestly I did! I liked the plot of the book the FL, Mila has Aspergers syndrome (a type of autism) so she has little difficulty talking to people or maintaining eye contact and even loud noises and most of the times in such situations she goes into her head. Her father was an a**hole and her sisters had to take the brunt of his anger whenever she made a small mistake. She was insecure and did not do well with people. She met ML when she was 14 and he was 24 but nothing happened as he only saw her as a broken, lonely girl for which he decided to be her pen-pal but cut off ties when he thought he was crossing the line. They meet again when she is 21 and now she is in danger so he has to protect her and he takes her away and well makes her fall in love and be comfortable with him. The only problem I had with this book was she immediately got too comfortable with him which is possibly in fiction I understand but how do you forget that she is a little different and somebody suffering from autism doesn't automatically become attached to one person that way and is suddenly okay with romance and sex....and later on she also becomes strong and doesn't cower around people it was a little too much there as she we should realise she is not just traumatized but actually suffering from birth with communication but overall you can definitely see the bonding grow. The ML,Riagan gives touch her and you die vibes.Every chapter he had to say how much he was obsessed with her and it got a little annoying there. The inner monologue was never ending!!!sigh
As for the other characters I loved the men who tried understanding her and being patient with her and also her broken sister Kadra I wanna hug her can't wait for her book.
"And the forgotten princess lived happily ever after with her not so villain…"
P.S. I would love to see Madden steal away Riagan's lovely daughter Willow....that would be so cute......and a fuming Riagan...love it.
