Does humanity still need angels or do angels need humanity?
Caelan, a guardian angel since the dawn of humanity, is no longer content by his diminished role. Having fallen in love with Carissa, the human woman he has sworn to protect, he must forsake heaven when her life is put in imminent danger.
But Caelan is the not only angel with worldly desires. Other guardians share his lust for power and follow him to Earth. They build the great city of Bethyir and soon find the world of men more dangerous than they imagine. Challenged by humanity and plagued by demonic forces, the fallen angels and their children unite to build the greatest empire in human history, demanding worship as the Greek, Norse and Egyptian gods of mythology.
However, not all is well. Caelan’ unnatural departure has upset the powers of heaven and hell. Lucifer unleashes dark, demonic forces from the depths of hell capable of destroying the fallen angels. Even worse, Caelan and his brethren may have discovered foes far worse than humanity and the powers of hell . . . one another.
Will they overcome and build a better world or plunge it into destruction?
I liked the plot, mystery and the ongoing type of story about Christians and the Angels (Watchers etc. and I liked the type of characters he picked for this story. it really kept one wanting to come back each time that they had finished doing one's chores that life has a way of thrown at one, right? I gave him five stars as I liked the method, ways etc. of how he had created this story it was so interesting and intriguing . I recommend this book for those who like a Christian mystery and all the characters who had helped make this story so fascinating and can I say fanciful? I think you will really enjoy this book called "Sons of God Daughters of Men!! if you like a Christian's standpoint view. Thank you Benjamin for giving me this book free in exchange for my doing reviews for you now that Imhave finished reading it! By Angela L.
This is a hard book to review. There are parts of this book that I do not agree with and don't think happened but don't have "chapter and verse" to back up why I believe that way. And yet, there are some valid points made that I have never considered before. Possibilities of HOW...Greek mythology, the "gods", Great wonders that men have been unable to explain how they were built by mere humans at normal sizes, etc.. Benjamin puts an interesting spin on the possibilities of the how, what, when and why of the Sons of God the Bible mentions and yet this could also be a very dangerous road to travel for someone who is not strong in their faith. It could lead to confusion and misunderstanding of the Bible and God's way being the only way.
This is quite a good novel based on the events recorded in Genesis, the Book of Enoch and other non biblical texts and with author poetic license. I did not know this was Book 1. A very enjoyable read and nicely connected together what the biblical and non biblical texts says about the Nephilim in Genesis 6 and the antediluvian world before the Biblical Flood. I look forward to Book 2.
