Sheriff Kane Saucier had no intention of falling in love, again - ever. Love was for men who weren't married to their careers; men who had never experienced betrayal by a woman who was supposed to belong to him. Until he met Lilibet.
The wallflower of Kerrville County has never been kissed, never been on a date, never been asked to dance. Due to a childhood injury, she does not move with easy grace, but with halted movements that causes everyone to view her with a mixture of pity and disdain. Until she meets Kane.
Kane only sees an incredible woman with the face of an angel and a smile that determined to show her how truly beautiful she is.

So, you always know what you're going to get with Sable Hunter's books....totally unrealistic OTT love stories.
Kane was a great hero and it was definitely insta-love. Lilibet was pretty decent. I always hate though, how the heroines are treated as pariah in these books. Whatever disability or difference is definitely over exaggerated and the heroine is treated cruelly by others. This one was no different but I liked Lilibet. She seemed strong and sweet. She didn't let her disability keep her from doing what she wanted.
I loved the epilogue. I definitely could have done without the OW drama but I also appreciated Lilibet didn't jump to conclusions and was willing to hear Kane's side of the story. I hate misunderstandings that could easily be solved with communication.
3-3.5 stars Author went back to the sweet, totally insta lust/love model. Which I liked! The only downfall was the drama and strife caused by his bitch of an ex wife. Other than that, it was a short and sweet read. Although maybe a bit too sweet.
Hero was great, tons of sexy time, heroine was insecure but not bad. And she did not let her insecurities drive her behavior. She did not push hero away and did not let the ex wife drive her away. She did have a physical disability. That never gave hero any pause. I will say though the way she was treated by people was totally the worst stereotype on steroids. I cannot imagine in modern days people treating someone with a limp so cruelly, calling her "crip", refusing to hire her or do business with her. I mean the entire town?!
As I have been reading my way through the Hell Yeah series the character Kane gets a just enough attention to make me wonder. This story was a perfect addition to the series. Several questions are answered and a whole parallel story unfolds. As a stand alone readers might feel the whole thing is rushed but if one reads it after Joesph and Cady's story there is plenty of build up to justify this short story. My biggest complaint is one I often have with romances, it is when the couple have just been through some tramatic event and the first thing they do is have sex. ??? Personally I can't say that after any time that I have survived some crisis to either myself or my partner that sex was on my mind much less the first thing. But this is fiction and I don't really want too much reality popping in to ruin the dream anyway.
A 4.5 rating for me rounded to a 5, only reason being that there was not much of a build between the two main characters. It was not a bad thing, I believe in love at first sight and found the story to be a sweet, touching, emotional, exciting and sensual read. But always enjoy a great build, especially with such loveable characters. Any erotic romance fan will love spending some time with A Brown-eyed Handsome Man.
Lilibet is a sweet, kind hearted, beautiful and lonely local gal. She’s never been in a relationship but has fantasized about it many times. She’s always been (and still is) picked on because of her uneven gate. Some even call her a cripple, it’s a real shame. One day while she’s making rounds trying to get customers for her food business, she meets the towns new sheriff, Kane Saucier (love his name!) He brings about feelings within her that she has never experienced before and wishes her fantasy could become a reality and he’d give her the time of day.
Kane is a good looking, alpha male that enforces the law in Kerrville County. He’s a loner, after being married and going through a horrible time of it, he’s sworn off love, relationships and the like, forever. But when he lays his eyes on Lilibet, he finds he cannot resist a pursuit, she’s irresistible and calls to him like a siren.
I cannot believe this was my first time reading anything by Sable Hunter. I’ve already loaded book 1 from her Hell Yeah series into my ereader so I can remedy it quickly (I have some catching up to do). Love all of the characters, settings, the story-line and growth that occurred. Both characters went through drastic changes that only made them even more loveable and special as a pair. Be ready for plenty of heat and a wild ride ;)
The insta-chemistry between Lilibet and Zane was a little too quick for me. There's more love scenes than dialogue and the history between both characters is a little vague.
The suspense portion was very good, I liked that it wasn't stretched out to the point and solved logically.
I don't know if it was the format in which I read it, but again, grammatical errors was annoying. One of the characters name was changed in spelling mid-way and it took a few lines to figure out who they were talking about.
I will say... LOVED the ending!! Very cute and very endearing.
I TRY TO READ THIS SERIES AS SLOW AS POSSIBLE, BECAUSE I TRULY LOVE EVERY BOOK (of course it never works). ;0 THIS SERIES IS FILLED WITH EVERYTHING I LOVE, FAMILY VALUES, GOOD FRIENDS, ROMANCE, GREAT STORYLINES, ALPHA MEN AND THE MOST UNLIKELY H/h. THE CHARACTERS DON'T ALWAYS LOOK LIKE YOU WOULD EXPECT THEM TO. KANE AND HIS LITTLE BIT CERTAINLY DIDN'T LOOK LIKE THEY BELONGED TOGETHER BUT TRUE LOVE IS BLIND AND BEAUTY REALLY IS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER I LOVE WHERE THE STORIES TAKE PLACE AND THROUGHOUT THE BOOKS YOU LEARN MANY EDUCATIONAL THINGS. THE SEXX SCENES ARE AMAZINGLY SUPER SIZZLING HOT, THEY WILL MAKE YOU FEEL WHAT THEY ARE DOING AND WISH YOU WERE ALBLE TO SWITCH PLACES WITH THE LUCKY RECIPENT OF ALL THAT STEAMY ATTENTION (such detail). SIGH!! THE ONLY THING I WAS DISSAPOINTED IN WAS THIS COVER SHOWN HERE. THE NEW COVER IS SUPER HOT AND IN KEEPING WITH THE HELL YEAH SERIES THEME. I COULDN'T FIND THE NEW COVER HERE ON GOODREADS, THANK GOODNESS THE BOOK I PURCHASED FOR MY KINDLE FIRE HAS THE NEW COVER. YAHOOOOOOO!! ;D
Wow ! what an amazing story, very well written, wonderfull characters. This has been a real page turner for me. I think i have been through every emotion....so powerfull.
Lillibet a beatifull women inside and out, she has suffered much from the ignorant people of her town, because of her dissability, yet her kindness new no bounds. It broke my heart how she thought so little of herself, Thinking no man would ever want her for his own. The day she went into Kane's office, life changed for the both of them, his attraction to her was instant, and she had been fantisizing about this sexy man for weeks. Never dreaming he would kiss her and ask her out. Could life finally be looking up....with an ex-wife and a wayward brother waiting in the wings ....Kane and Lillibet has some battles to fight first. The story was Hot to Sizzling, some dangerous times, a thrilling book to read. Enjoy I am certain you will.
Sable has done it again.. this story the most loving.. emotional and sweetest read you can ever find... This book is #4 in the Hell Yeah series.. sheriff Kane Saucier a good friend of the McCoy Brothers... and his Lillibet.. who he calls Little-bit are true soul mates for an eternity.. the book has mystery..Drama..and of course Romance and love..I love the way Sable dealt with Little-bit's disability.. with huge compassion.. whatever Sable writes I will read.. have to say this one touched my soul as well as my heart!!
As much as I love the drama, this book is a bit off for me.
Why? Mostly because the attraction between Lilibeth and the Sheriff are just too fast too soon. I mean, the Sheriff just met her! I know, I know she oozes innocent and kindness but are you going to bang a girl you just met? NO.
But overall, I enjoyed the storyline. Sable Hunter's style of writing is a bit too fast for me, because I don't really feel the chemistry between them. But yeah, I liked this series enough I'll finished it.
The story for me had a sweet beginning, but got a little strange for some reason. I believe the instant attraction part but it moved way to fast, I mean instant move in, sorry to many weirdo's in the world or maybe I am leery. Anyway the story really picked up for me in the middle and really had me captured. Liked Kane & Little-bit as he liked to call her. But loved Zane in, I'll see you in my dreams better. Still a good read!
I borrowed A Brown-Eyed Handsome Man ~ Hell Yeah! ~ Book 4, by Sable Hunter from the Kindle Unlimited Program on Amazon.
Kane Saucier, Sheriff of Kerrville County, feels his life is missing something or someone until sweet Lilibet Ladner comes into his office door. He asks her our for dinner that day and this starts a great romance and a series of events full of trouble, danger, a kidnapping and rescue, putting more than one bad guy behind bars. I love a romance full of adventure, hot lovein' and strong main characters.
Been a while since I read a Sable Hunter book and I had forgotten how sexy they can be. This one seemed especially dense with heated moments. Could be overwhelming, but sometimes that's just what I want as a reader.
Instalove, suspense, other woman drama, surprise baby, death of minor character, dirty talk, and lots of cameos from other Hunter characters.
This book was not bad but not as good as some of the others. The MFC had a very passive personality almost to the point of being dumb. The dialogue did not hold true in some situations. The story was good and the writing was good. One thing that I did not like is that the sex happened too soon it doesn't seem realistic in these kind of books. I would still recommend it for a afternoon read.
Lilibet and Kane’s story was kind of cheesy I thought. It didn’t really delve deep into them as characters. I found it totally predictable and even boring at times. I just finished the Heritage book and I was so much happier reading that than this. I just was not a fan.
This series has it all! Sexy, manly men who eventually get their true loves. Intelligent, strong women a reader can identify with, who realize they are worth more than society, ( unreasonably), dictate. Mystery, mayhem and most importantly, love be it romantic or familial!
This started so so so good but then it went downhill: we had an ex-wife/the baby/the brother of the FML/the weird guy who wants to destroy the MML/ the person who poisoned the animals/Joseph/Cady getting electrocuted/the kidnapping scene. I was like: stop!!!!!!!! But in the end, they get their happy ending. (finally!)

Kane is the sheriff. His family doesn't approve. Lilibet has one leg longer than the other. She does a food wagon and goes business to business selling her food. Kane is instantly attracted. Someone is not happy that they are together. Will Kane be there when she needs him?
Excellent addition to this series. It is definitely exciting and full of so many different twists that you will not want to stop reading. Absolutely loved this book.
Love this book, and I can't wait to get started on the next book in this series. A warning there is a lot of sex so just be aware. But overall a very good book.
I'm overdosing on all the insta-love and page after page of marathon sex scenes that run amok in this series. Phew! I'mma need a break before moving on to book 5, Isaac's story. I'm looking forward it so it better be worth the wait!
Sorry, but this one was cliched and amateurish, with high school level writing. Glad it was free, but I'll never get back the time I wasted reading it.
Kane & Lilibet: This was not bad but there’s something about how the author writes I don’t like very much. I find myself not interested in the story yet I don’t feel it deserves a low rating.
A Brown Eyed Handsome Man by Sable Hunter 5/5 Stars Just Awesome
What I’ve really come to love about Sable Hunter is she does not shy away from things, nothing is taboo, so far we have had cancer, dyslexia, surrogacy, paralysis, faith healing, in this book our heroine Lilibet has a limp, which is the way she was born, however the reaction she gets just leaves me cold, what difference does it make to a person’s personality if they limp or not? Kane is not only the town Sheriff but also a friend to the McCoy boys, he is such a gentleman and is so gentle to Lilibet, don’t get me wrong he can be a real bad ass if he wants to be, and what he thought was a sleepy town he had come to sure had a hellva lot going on and he has his hands, however the only thing he wants as a handful is Lilibet. Kane is also hit by a shock revelation, miss unstandings and more trouble than you could shake a stick at I love how Sable has really strong females as her heroines, and these females really don’t see just how strong they are, Lilibet is no exception, she strides to make her small business work to provide money not only for herself, but also to help her brother, she can’t see why Kane could ever be interested in her. As usual they is more than one story going on at the same time with plenty of twists and turns, Sables books never end on a cliff-hanger, they just leave you wanting more
