There are rumors going around town. They say that if you go to the old carnival, you'd see a dashing young man wearing a magician's hat — a man who has the power to make people disappear from the face of the earth. But before he does any magic, he will look you in the eye, stare at your soul with his grey eyes and ask,
"Do you believe in magic?"
Yoon Ai, a smart girl in her class, struggles to feed herself and her sister everyday. All she wants is to grow up faster so she can escape poverty and the reality of her miserable life. When she meets the rumored magician in the abandoned carnival, her life changes forever.

To summarize the third book of this splendid masterpiece of a "korean manga" called "Annarasumanara ", i could only state the question "Do you believe in magic?", but that wouldn't be enough for a review, thus i'm quoting the striking scenes i still have in mind. Chapter 21 touched me very deeply. Seeing that young man thinking about his "asphalt road" and if he could become happy by following it. Chapter 22 already predicted the outcome of the story at the end. The magician isn't crazy, he's just slowly driven insane by society. The society which is trying to get everyone in a chosen kind of behavior pattern. This behavior pattern is elaborated in the 25th chapter whilst showing how the "magician" is getting forced into learning by authorities telling him they're counting on him. This chapter clearly gives the cruelty of the adults-world a face.
At the end there is still the question "Should you live like society's expecting it from you or should you live in a way that makes you happy?"
The third volume brings this wonderful Korean manga to an end. The series deals with different views on growing up and becoming an adult. Some characters refuse to grow up while others can't wait to be mature.
In the end you have to ask yourself: Are you allowed to believe in magic?
Esperaba un poco más del final. Quedó un poco inconcluso y me dejó con varias dudas. Creo que si se hubieran omitido las últimas tres páginas me hubiera gustado un poco más
It was so magical and sad and deep. And the art style is absolutely stunning. It didn’t even feel like a graphic novel, i felt like i was watching a movie.
“He is a lunatic, because he couldn’t fit the stereotype people placed”
It talks about how society sets expectations for everyone and if you don’t fit into a certain category then people are afraid of you. How being different is not always acceptable. And how focusing so hard on fitting in can drive you crazy.
Review on webtoon "The Sound of Magic: Annarasumanara" by Ilkwon Ha (episode 3) - I read episode 3 today. It was okay . How irresponsible of the father to abandon his daughters in a rented flat and run away from his heavy debts ! So, that's how Yun Ai and her younger sister ended up living on their own.
Came for the artwork. Stayed for the mystery magician. Poignant new and second chance webtoon. The Kdrama (Netflix) check it out after you read this one!
"Do you believe in magic?" This is a beautiful and magical Korean Manhwa(manga), displaying the stereotypical world we live in and how reality and dreams are two vastly different things. We live inside the walls of our society and stepping out means you have brought misery to yourself. Society pressures us to the extent of going crazy and then laugh at us. In this series, three characters, a magician and two high schoolers will take you on a rollercoaster ride of reality and dream. After reading this manga your perspective will surely change, I know mine is. It surely is beautiful and magical. I'm hoping this turns into a movie someday. Or an anime. Because the art is so unique, clear and magical. If someday it becomes an anime, it should definitely follow the pattern of black and white with few touches of color. The use of color is where it's most needed and I like that about this series. I truly hope and thank the Mangaka(Author) to make such beautiful books and artwork. I got the Alice in the Wonderland vibe throughout this series.
This manhwa... I can relate to it in more ways than one. It's a little sad though. The do you believe in magic? line kinda set the whole idea of the manhwa. Is he a real magician? Is there really magic? I hoped the magician could perform real magic, but reality, like what this manhwa showed is such a letdown. That's why I can relate to the magician about not wanting to become an adult. People expect so much more from adults than they would to kids and failure to meet those expectations will result to stereotypes. I honestly would like to become a kid for infinity. To be able to openly express your wild imagination and not be questioned for your mentality would be nice. Watching anime, reading manga and singing along to anime songs would be heavenly without people telling you to stop because "you're already a grown up" I normally dgaf about these kind of people however, I'd prefer not to any hear from them at all.
Yoon Ah was surely poor and her father must be really scared of facing the reality of failure. He could've stayed with his daughters. I feel bad for Yoon Ah :(
This series was so visually striking and meaningful. I really loved all the hidden meanings, color use, and the fun of it all. Such a great short series!
