This story wasn’t spicy 🧁. This story is set in a place called Honeywell. It’s set at the Sugarloaf Bakery.
This story is about a woman named Abby whose father recently had a stroke. I loved her relationship with her father. He may not be able to communicate with Abby but she tells him about her day and what’s going on. She watches movies with him while she has her mother go to a book club by herself. Abby lands her dream job at the bakery. Her efforts at online dating have been a total disaster until Chris who is a charming fellow baker.
As their romance starts to heat up faster than a batch of scones. Someone is sabotaging their entries in the local baking competition. Even worse she begins to suspect Chris might be involved. She even accuses him of stealing her notebook without any evidence that he did it. She totally jumps to conclusions about Chris. I didn’t like how she acted with Chris instead of talking to him about what was going on. I did like reading about the baking competition. I liked reading this book.
Abby goes back to Honeywell to live with her parents after her dad had a stroke. She also gets a job at Sugarloaf. Lily is pregnant and is looking for someone to replace her while she is on maternity leave.
Abby also tries dating and it doesn’t go well until she meets a baker named Chris. Chris is lovely and is the opposite of Abby in a good way.
There is a big baking competition going on in the local county and it is called “the mix up”. With that being said Abby bring a professional baker and needing to show creativity she is excited but also stressed. Super stressed. She has a special notebook where she writes her ideas and recipes.
During the mix off another bakery is doing the same exact things as sugarloaf and Abby is blaming Chris. Especially when she finds her notebook in his pocket!!! But it isn’t Chris, it’s someone closer to home.

Book 2 did not disappoint! This book was every bit as good as the first one. Maybe even better, in some ways! I can't wait to dive into book three now! If you haven't picked up this little gem of a series yet... what are you waiting for?? Especially while you can grab it and try it for free on Kindle Unlimited! I highly recommend it!
I really loved returning to the Sugarloaf Bakery this time with Abby the new baker. She has a reason for returning to Honeywell. The bakery is under new management. I hope there will be another book in this series.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It’s so lighthearted and refreshing and I found myself giggling quite a lot! Perfect for reading right after Christmas when all the partying is over and it’s back to the real world!
This was such a cute hallmark movie love story in my opinion. It had the cute almost cringe love story with a hint of mystery that I love with a sweet ending.
Another adventure at the Sugarloaf Bakery. A lovely lighthearted romance, a great sequel to the first book, and I can't wait to continue with the story.
Abby overthinks everything and it’s extremely annoying by the end of the book. She’s a very immature character. Hard to get through this book after finishing the first one.
