MATTHEW'S RETURN by Stacey Espino Wolves of Climax Book Three
Life in Climax is anything but ordinary. Cassidy does things with her four men she only ever dreamed of, but as the days pass, she craves more than just sex. She wants the whole happily ever after with the men who quickly capture her heart.
Cassidy slowly feels like she belongs in Climax, but something is still missing. Her lovers continually remind her she'll have to accept Matthew in her bed if he returns. She's ready to include him, anxious to experience five men, but what if he wants nothing to do with her?
When she goes in search of her half brother, the Rockford miners lead her into a trap. It's too late to follow Garret's warnings about leaving the mine alone. Now she's faced with madmen and surrounded by wolves. Will her men be able to rescue her before it's too late?
This review is for book 2 -7 in the wolves of Climax series. I did like the story it had a good premise I just didn’t like Garret him deciding to keep her in the dark about everything made things so much worse than they had to be.

This is the third book in the series and it’s getting more and more twisty. The plot thickens with life in peril. Just when we think that Cassidy is going to find out whom and what her men really are something else happens. The emotion between the characters continues to be richly written by Ms. Espino. While spinning the mysteries she draws us deeper into the relationships. The way she writes each interaction makes me want to read more and more about each character. Since I am continuing to devour the books as fast as I can, I think it is safe to say she is doing her job. And she is fantastic at it. I mean yeah, we know that there is going to be sex and a lot of it. Hello? It is erotic romance. But she manages to keep the interactions all fresh and full of emotion. I have not once gotten bored or started a sex scene thinking, “Oh, they are doing it that way again?” I was excited to finally see the appearance of the mysterious Matthew. There are some seriously twisted people in this tiny little town. I can’t wait to see what happens next in Taming Travis!
One final note in this review: I want to get on my soapbox for a second. I have read some reviews where people lowered the stars because of the price compared to the length. They say it is nothing against Stacey as a writer, but it still hurts her in the long run. If you put a review like that on Amazon or Barnes and Noble, they don’t take into account the content of the review, just the stars. And anything lower than 4 stars bumps them down. And if the publisher thinks that people won’t be interested in that author anymore then they stop publishing their books. So I urge people who leave reviews to consider this before they leave a three stars (or lower) because they are upset about a price a publisher set. Publishers set the price but they also decide what to publish. In the end you are only going to end up hurting the author you like, and maybe have less chance to buy her books in the future. I’m not saying not to voice your displeasure, but chose your forum carefully, please. You are more than welcome to make comments on my blog because that won’t affect sales numbers or stats. I welcome a spirited debate and agree about the pricing of shorter stories.
I find myself getting more intrigued with each installment of The Wolves of Climax series. Matthew’s return is book three of this series and begins right where book two; Garret’s Domination, left off. (Please note: these books should be read in order. Each book ends on a cliffhanger that is continued in the following story.) Matthew is still missing and Cassidy had just gone to find her brother against Garret’s wishes. When she finds herself alone outside the local diner, a tall, sexy, muscular man offered to help Cassidy and claimed he had seen her brother camping in the woods. Reluctantly, she follows only to find herself in the clutches of the Rockford miners who also happen to be the Rockford wolves. When Garret realizes that Cassidy is missing, he and the rest of his crew gain fast ground to find her trail. In the process of getting Cassidy back, accusations are made about missing pack members and rumors of kidnapped wolves are heard. Could it be true?
When one of Garret’s men, Evan, has Cassidy safely in his truck, they head to safety only to see a naked man running across the street. While Cassidy is unaware of what that signifies, Evan knows that it must be a wolf. Quick to check on who it may be, Evan makes the mistake of leaving Cassidy alone once again. Unable to wait any longer, Cassidy goes exploring the darkness of the night on her own only to run into someone that she certainly wasn’t expecting. Who was this gorgeous stranger, and why is she so attracted to him? When she simply can’t resist the temptation anymore, Cassidy makes a choice that could change things forever.
Once again I am anxiously waiting to see what happens next. The drawn out claiming of the pack female adds some intrigue to the story, but when there are no more excuses, what will Garret do? The story keeps you on your toes, and the sex is downright dirty (just the way I like it)! If you like shifter stories and menage fantasies, be sure to pick up this series. The stories are short, mysterious, and sexy to say the least!
This series keeps getting better and better! Now with the whole crew back together it heats up even more than before.
Matthew is now in the picture. He escaped his captives with the help of another (from a rival pack). The first person he see's is Cassie. She's wandering the woods looking for Patrick. Cassie is now concerned if Matthew will accept her like the others have. Can they all have a successful relationship? Cassie is still in the dark about her men's true being. But I believe that's about to change very soon. It's becoming harder for them to hide it from her as the days go by and a true mating cannot be completed until all is revealed.
Cassidy just got even stupider. I hate stupid female leads who deliberately put themselves in danger again and again and again after some seriously well pointed out warnings. She's always got a good reason to ignore them. The only saving grace in this book was Matthew who was incredibly sexy after returning still half with his beast from being held captive so long. Hooray for Matthew!
Well, I'm done with this series. I absolutely don't know what the heroes see in Cassie. After the last book, I thought she was getting smarter, but the idiot just doesn't seem to learn that the forest is full of dangerous things that want to eat and/or kill her.
