Okay this book was better for me than the first two... Can I just say that I LOVE Paden! I love Roland too, I am glad everything worked out the way it did, not to spoil too much. This is a really cool trilogy, for a more mature ya pnr read!

I finished! I finished! It only took me forever, and I wanted to stop reading this, but I read the first two and I just had to finish it.

So I lost all respect for Ree, Roland, Paden, and Nichole Chase with the whole Ree/Roland fiasco. Yeah, I don't know what message you are trying to send to young readers...but cheating is never something to be taken lightly and easily forgiven.
"She let Roland kiss her, but she would never love soemone the way she loved Paden." So you know, that made it okay. Totally fine. Sure, Ree spend a good portion of the rest of the book feeling guilty about it. But that wasn't good enough for me. I also did not see how kissing someone else equated to making a bet with someone? I'm not saying I think Paden wasn't in the wrong there, but it certainly was not on par with what Ree did. Not even close. Paden made a bet that ultimately stated he couldn't have a problem with Roland for trying to kiss Ree. No where in that bet did he say she had to, or would. That was all her. But then she goes on to blame Aphrodite for her bad decisions. I found it disgusting that Paden was expected to roll over and take on for the team.

"He looked at her with large, blue eyes, every inch the nineteen year old he appeared to be." What does that even mean? It's actually a contradiction.

Oh, Ree becoming an instant badass? Didn't fly with me.

Paden was quite the little bitch in this book. He was most certainly not manly.

So, I skipped a lot of this book. And it still took me forever to finish it. I didn't want to read it. It took me all day to read fifty pages. And even tonight, trying to finish it, I was sidetracking myself almost on purpose, just to avoid it. But I really want to read something else, so I made myself skim read the rest at the very least.
And what I read annoyed me further.

The last battle was lame. Three books lead up to nothing. The last battle should have been epic! Why wasn't it epic? The whole thing with Roland and Paden lasted longer than the last battle! I was furious, it wasn't worth all the time I let this book sit instead of reading something else! Three books led up to Ree losing her virginity right after people on the island were massacred. What a way to be put in the mood. Actually, I didn't like the message being sent with that. If you're going to lose your virginity, you don't want any other influence deciding your actions, except your own. Not to mention, how fucking tacky. I did like that it was thought about by the author, because Ree and Paden kind of argue about it afterward. That whole scene could have gone anywhere else in the book...so why there?

Sometimes Ree acted like an adult, had adult things to say--but only when she was talking with the Gods, really. Otherwise she acted like a child and only had ridiculous things to say. Her personality didn't add up to a lot of the ways she handles situations. She acted out of character more often than not. It was...well you know what. I don't want to say the word I was going to put there. I know Nichole is probably proud of this book, and there is no need to be mean.

But I am so glad this is over. It was extremely predictable with how it ended. Except, even then I am irritated. Rather than having Tristan own up to his actions, he just takes the easy way out. Yeah, there were some really awesome messages being sent out in this read.

Ree has sent her parents on the run for their own safety, she & her friends are training, and now she must finish this war once and for all. Thankfully with a little help from her friends maybe, just maybe they will fight and win. But first she demands some help from the Gods if she stands any chance of winning. And demands are something the Gods don't take lightly. Will standing up to the Greek Gods prove costly? Will Ree be able to save the world and get her man? And if so, which guy will she choose? Everything gets answered in the final book of this phenomenal series.

Whoa! Like really, whoa! This book was sensational in every aspect. I mean Nichole obviously is a fantastic writer and it shows in her work. The characters she gives us are beyond cool and a little awesome in the fighting department. Who wouldn't want to be a descendant of ancient Greek gods? Another thing that is great about the characters is they actually grow and develop through the series. Ree has came so far since the first time we meet her in Mortal Obligation.

I thought I would be overcome with grief now that the series is over. But after reading Immortal Grave and seeing how wonderful it was and how great it ended…I was actually ok. Yeah I am still a little sad but Nichole gave us all closure with the series and a fabulous ending; an ending that I thought was absolute greatness. And with all the action that takes place…this book is perfect for guys just as much as it is for the gals.

I encourage you to take up this series if you haven’t already and partake in its fabulousness. Nichole Chase is a talent to be reckoned with; and I promise you will get addicted to her kickin’ characters and enticing story lines.

This was a really good finale! (Or was it???) :) I thought Immortal Grave was put together really well for the final book in this trilogy. There is one part that really bugs me though. It is from Chapter 29. ***SPOILER ALERT - IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW THIS PART SKIP TO NEXT PARAGRAPH*** Like I was saying, in Chapter 29 there are 2 sentences that really caused me to stop and re-glance because it is repetitious. Here: "It was as if the world had slowed when Della and Roland met blade to blade." Then exactly in the 3rd sentence after that, this was written: "Time seemed to slow as Della and Roland danced around each other." Well, we already know "the world seemed to slow" so why would "time slowing" be any different? It really caused me to stop reading and have to reread that paragraph a couple of times to get "over it". :)

But other than that, it was a great book/Trilogy. I would definitely highly recommend this book to anyone looking for Love, Hero/Heroines, a little Mythology, Gods/Goddesses and Good vs Evil. There is just enough action in this one as well. There are even a couple of places in the story that actually had me laughing out loud. As in REALLY loud! (This was a pleasant surprise.) The story was put together very well. I love the back bone that Ree has in this book and there isn't much whining. (Nothing like too much whining to ruin a story. Because you are too busy wanting to slap the whiner. LOL)

The ending does seem to lead to possible more books so I will be definitely looking out for that! So, curl up, settle down or whatever it is you do to get comfortable when you read and get ready for a great trilogy that has a little bit of everything to grab and keep your attention. It is a great ride!

Holy heck. I knew the final installment to the Dark Betrayal Trilogy would be amazing. But I sure never expected it to be all that and then something. This is a sequel written the right way. Sure we had to wait a while longer than its original publish date, but it was worth it. There were several times I went to Nichole's website or twitter or even on amazon to look at discussions to see when this beauty was being released. While investigating I found responses by Nichole herself, talking about the book, not many authors would do this. I respect that Nichole took the time to respond and give her thoughts about her work. Saying that she wanted everything to be perfect before she released Immortal Grave. All I can say is, Nichole, job well done. Immortal Grave is just that, perfect! Now on to all the epicness going on in Immortal Grave.

Ree takes things up a notch in the stunning conclusion of the Dark Betrayal Trilogy. Ree is no longer the shy little girl she used to be way back in Mortal Obligation. I loved seeing how strong and independent Ree has become. She is no snivelling, whiny, pawn my task off to another, type of girl. She takes her destiny by the horns and kicks it in the face. Ree steps into her place as leader, with well thought out plans, and execution. With the help of her scooby gang of course ;) I loved that Ree took the offense instead of the defensive roll this gang has been taking in the past books. Ree knew it was their time to shine, and boy did they glow like a comet! Seriously, the bad guys are all "OMG WTF" and Ree and her gang are all "Oh yeah, ready to die mofos." Sorry I couldn't resist. If you love reading about a strong, butt kicking, smart mouthed heroine, this is your series.

Next up we have the drool worthy, hunk of a man Paden. Could this guy get any better? I used to think it was impossible, but I was wrong. He never once let me down. Paden becomes the man/godling he was meant to be. He takes charge of the situation, and sometimes is the level head when Ree might just be going over the top. Paden is definitely the ying to Ree's yang. They complete each other, unlike so many other YA couples out there. You can actually see them well into the future battling alongside each, the other half of each other. Paden is just plain amazing, he is everything a girl would want. Don't think that because he is a good boy that he's not an alpha because he is. Ree won't be pushing him around anytime soon ;)

Now I don't want all you ladies out there thinking that Immortal Grave is all action and no romance/swoonage, because it isn't. Paden and Ree have several steamy scenes in Immortal Grave. I thought my kindle was going to catch on fire from all the heat. Sizzling! Nichole perfectly executes those scenes without making them sleazy. When Ree and Paden get together, the time felt right. It didn't feel like filler or forced. It felt like it was "the moment." Though yes, because it does contain mild sexual content I would recommend this book to an older audience, it is no where near being what is in adult books.

Immortal Grave is an amazing read. I loved every minute. The romance, the action, the scooby gang and all their witty banter. Like a jack of all trades, Immortal Grave has a lot to offer a reader. It has something for everyone. The writing is amazing, and well thought out. I am sad to see the end to such a great series, but alas all good things must come to an end. I know one thing is for certain. I will read anything written by Nichole Chase. So to all you people out there who doubt Indie authors, you don't know what you're missing!

*******CONTAINS SOME INFORMATION FROM THE FIRST TWO BOOKS*******

The Dark Betrayal Trilogy is the best series I have ever read. In Mortal Obligation we meet Ree a girl who just wants to get through high school and go to college. She and her family are reeling from the death of her older brother and to make matters worse Ree is in love with his best friend. What is a girl to do? Ree continues to have nightmares and when she and her friends decide to go out for a night to a club things go from good to bad very fast. Ree is attacked and her brothers best and crush saves her but what she and her friends learn that night will change their lives forever. Ree and her friends find out they have powers granted to them from the Gods and Ree finds out she is the key to saving the world.

In Mortal Defiance Ree is struggling with school and work and having to fight darklings. She has met Sophie and Roland who are there to help her along her journey to fight for the Gods and remove the darklings and the evil one she has to kill. When she finds out who the evil one is she and friends are devastated because it is someone she knows and loves. The Gods never told her who it was so when she finds out she turns to Paden and the others for answers. To add to all this mess the Gods decided she would be in love with two guys. As Ree struggles with her feelings for both guys she has to fight the dark ones and the evil one. When all is said and done Ree will have to make some decisions she does not want to but in order to save the world and have the one she loves she will do whatever she has to even if it means breaking someones heart.

In the final and epic battle Ree has had to undergo several changes and fast. She is no longer the meek little girl we met in Mortal Obligation. Ree has defied the Gods and demanded things from them. If she is supposed to fight for them and save the world she will need a few things. As she and her friends prepare for the epic battle they train and prepare themselves for what is to come. Along the way they are attacked and it is not a normal attack but one with the help of a God.

Ree and her friends are angered by this and decide it is time to go all out no matter what the cost is. In this showdown between Ree and the evil one Ree gives it all she has because she knows when the dust settles and reality is realized only one side will be standing. Will it be the good side with Ree and her friends or will it be the evil one and his Darklings? This series came to an end and I am sad to see it go. i loved this world and I loved the characters. Nichole did a great job of working a story with Vampires and Gods and supernatural beings that are loyal to the end. I will miss these guys but I promise to re-read this series for years to come. Nichole has stolen my heart with Roland and I hope she writes more from his side and Sophie. Happy Reading and I hope you enjoy this series as much as I have! Thanks Nichole for the best ending to an EPIC series!

Slow your horses people and run out grab this trilogy! Not only is this Author lovely, but her writing and story telling was great! I was so inspired by the balance of loyalty Nichole kept between the friends in this story. She built a teenager girl, into such a strong force to be reckoned with.

Here is what you have in the story. Ree, she is the Alastriana. The last and final, and has to win the final war in order to save man kind. You have her friends which are guardian vampires. The darklings who lets just say are nasty stinking bad vampires! Sophie's which is Ree's mentor and I am very please to throw in Roland, that is able to help Ree through her training to prepare for the battle to fight, for the Greeks Gods and remove the darklings. Before they destroy life for
the humans and bring the world to an end. So that's tells you tons of action going on. Let's talk about love. Oh yes, I said LOVE. One of Ree's guardians, Paden (raww) is her brother's best friend.
Guess what, now he is in love with Ree. Not only that but Ree is a re-carnation of Roland's deceased girlfriend. Slap that butter on your bread and spread people!!! However, the love triangle that usually
runs story wide is not so here. Ree is definitely in love with one. Though she has a minor slip up (LOL) she is true to the one she loves and wants to be with. You will never guess who is the darkling, that
Ree has to battle. Nope I refuse to spill the beans! Read it, enjoy it and find out for yourself!

The best part about this trilogy was the fact that Nichole Chase, spun this story so that you are constantly on edge, full of anticipation. She has you swatting tears back. Laughing out loud. Just a over all great package!

The stage is set for the final battle and a confrontation between brother and sister, only one will make it out alive. Ree is feeling stressed and pressured, who wouldn't after losing a mentor and dealing with Sophie's death gift. The dark ones are attacking humans with immortal lines and people are dying everywhere. Feeling powerless in her situation, Ree decides to take back control and makes her demands of the gods. Striking a bargain with Athena, she must succeed to enjoy her life with Paden. Throughout this series I did get a little frustrated with Ree when she seemed to question her feelings for Paden because of remembering the relationship between Tria and Roland. Regardless of those memories, it was another life and she knew that Paden was her soul mate in this life so I felt she led Roland on at times. Things come to a head between Ree, Paden and Roland but a resolution of sorts comes to pass that they all have to live with. Tristan is now in a position of power and is no longer the "scholarship kid" to be pitied any longer. Secretly enlisting the help of two rogue gods who will enhance his power if he defeats the last Alastriana, Tristan will be a force to be reckoned with. Friends are the family we choose for ourselves and Ree has chosen well with her group of Guardians who would defend her with their lives. Sacrifices will be made and loved ones will not survive but Ree has to stay focussed as the rest of humanity is at stake. Even if she wins, she will lose her brother forever no matter what he has become and that price may just be too high. I did enjoy this series, it was a fun, quick read and it reached a satisfactory conclusion.

I'm going to do a blanket review of the whole series instead of each one so here goes. The first in this trilogy we meet Ree and her friends. Having lost a brother to drunk driving her brothers best friend vows to protect Ree like a brother should. You instantly fall in love with Paden!!! Certain circumstances set a series of events in motion and Ree and Paden and their friends discover their true nature. Being in some way descendants of gods and goddesses. Ree is the chosen one to lead this ragtag group and save the planet from destruction by the dark ones. You go on their journey as the trilogy unfolds. It's not all death and destruction (which this book has a lot of) there is also a love story and a love triangle. These books explore soul mates and past lives. You will be sad and you will root for the good guys and I promise you won't be disappointed!! So if gods and goddesses, vampires, love, saving the world and kick ass chicks are your thing then this is your book. Also some laughs will be had!!!!

This book hands down was the bst of the three. I cried and my throat hurt and I just wanted to scream at the Gods. I also laughed and fell in love (well more in love) with everyone.

The battle was intense as we knew it was going to be, there was heartache as we expected there to be, but there was also love and that was what made it worth it. I loved the quippy one lines thrown about, and the would lvoe to know more about the new guardians hanging around. I jsut want more of this world period!!

It has all come down to this.

Will Ree and her friends solve the gods' intentions before it's too late?

The race is on to save the world and humanity.

I've watched these characters grow into the warriors needed to take on the final battle.

I sat clutching my kindle till the very end. Hanging a Do Not Disturb Sign around my neck and just immersing myself in this brilliant world of Nichole Chase's imagination.

Ree and her friends are about to stop running and take a stand. The story was utterly thrilling, a non-stop roller coaster. The action physically as well as emotionally packs a punch and at times will leave you reeling. Some live, some die you are going to have to check out this enthralling story to find out the conclusion to this fabulous series.

This book was great!! Actually the whole trilogy was! I am sad that it ended! The way it ended though I almost feel there might be a chance for me continuation on the story, guess will have to see! All three books were written wonderfully with minor issues (spellings mainly) but when I read a book or review I don't look for that b/c most of the time you can figure out what the word was supposed to be. I look for a story that is clean and smooths evenly and is real feeling. I look to be able to connect to the characters and I was able to do that with this trilogy!! I would recommend to all as it is a great trilogy and well written!! Have I mentioned lately that Paden is a hottie and super sexy!! Wish there could be more of him and Ree! Great story!

I loved it can't find words to describe how I enjoyed and cried during this book. I loved that the book was unpredictable, understandable, it was incisive with the story line and it wasn't too unbelievable.

I have read a good amount of books about Gods and this is one of my favorites so far. The reason I say this is because it showed or mentioned so many different Gods not just those of Greek mythology. I loved that the plotting for so long came to such great fruition even at the cost of sorrow.

The trilogy was exceptionally written I am looking forward for the books about the three favors Ree promised Athena and the story for the short hair beauty that looks like Alastriana.

I LOVE IT...............................................

Ah so so soooo good! I loved Paden and Ree they are so adorable together and he is very hot and protective! I felt bad at first for Roland but when I knew he was going to end up with Melanie I felt better! The gods pissed me off like no other! I'm glad are stood up for her self and faced them! After all she was only saving the world! I really thought Tristan was going to make it out of this but I guess not and at was pretty sad. But how it ended was very interesting. Almost like there are going to be other books?! But anyways I really liked this story and I'm sad to see that it ended but I'm glad it ended well!

This one took even longer for me to read. It dragged on when the series should have just been a two-parter. To have so many families with immortal lines in one city was a little implausible. I wish there were more scenes with the other guardians, I bet their stories would be cooler.

I found myself wishing the characters were older and not in high school. Even if they were in college, I'd buy it a little more. Overall, a simple series that I should have been able to finish in a few days turned into a drag.

I'm so sad to see the end of this trilogy. I love these characters and would have loved to see a few more books with them.
The book started off a little slower than the previous one but the last half was all action. I was very happy with the ending. Not all trilogies end in a way I'm happy with as they leave too many things open. This was wrapped up nicely but with the possibility of another book in the distant future.

I feel sad this trilogy is over. I loved the book and will really miss the characters, especially Ree, Paden and Roland. I fell a little bit in love with all three if them.
The only thing that prevented me from giving this 5 stars was the last page. I understand why it was done (to leave the possibility of further books in the series) but I didn't like it at all. Although it wasn't enough ti ruin it for me, it did leave me feeling slightly dissatisfied.

Ree seemed to finally grow into her own skin. I liked the change in her character.
I was uncertain about the love triangle in this story. It seemed one sided (or 2 sided?) and just cruel. Which, I know, was the point but I still ached for the character! However, the author somehow maneuvered it into a satisfying ending.
The story was left with an ending that hinted a more to come which is both interesting and frustrating!

I seriously hope this series continues. I loved the ending of this novel so much. Much more than any other. Like come on, who do you know that could kill not one God but two? I enjoyed the story all the way through, it was exciting but sad when happened to Tristan, some people just get greedy in life I suppose. Great novel, all the way through though.

Great ending to this trilogy. With the last chapter, I am wondering if there will be a spinoff series? I did put this one down a couple of times to read other books, but I'm glad I pushed through and finished it. The last battle was fast-paced and exciting. Ree, Payden, and all of their friends will be missed!

Ree is discovering more of her new powers. But she knows that the final battle is coming up. And the cards are stacked against them. Gods have picked sides and are having no problem showing her their hand.

Ree and Paden finally are together and can be together forever if she can kill her brother.

Can love really save them??

SO GOOD! Hope there is more to come...tricky Goddess.

I don't know why in some series I root for the wrong guy, I mean I actually loved them both so that was well done, but I always like the underdog and he doesn't always win. This was a fun series to read and she created an awesome world to get lost in, it was a very fast and crazy ride!
