Two warring ghosts drive Spencer Markham to seek a ghostbusting wife. He has one week to convince Kailyn Baker to marry him, but she has a bad attitude, wants nothing to do with marriage, and refuses to believe ghosts exist. Can he convince her to join him in defeating the specters before the ghosts’ violence turns deadly?
This was such a fun read! And a perfect Halloween ghost story complete with warring ghosts and an English castle.
Kailyn comes to England thinking she's going to a job interview and finds herself in a competition to be the bride of the next Earl. I will admit, there were times in the begining when Kailyn really got on my nerves. She was not only a skeptic (which isn't so bad) but completely against love and marriage. Like it would be so horrible to fall in love with a sexy wealthy Earl. She acts like if that happens her life will be a disaster. Really? There were a few other things about her that just didn't seem realistic but I won't elaborate due to spoilers.
The story is fast paced and full of crazy antics Kailyn an Spencer come up with to get rid of the ghost. Some of which were so far fetched that you have to wonder how the authors came up with them. Kailyn is a great strong female character who is up against two strong female ghost characters and that makes for a great battle of strength and wits.
Overall a very fun read. Due to a bit of sex toward the end I have to say this is for the over 18 crowd. But, I would recommend this to any adult who likes a good fun ghost story.
I won this book from LibraryThing’s giveaway. This was such a fun story. I found myself laughing at all the antics going on and rooting for Spencer and Kailyn. Kailyn Baker is in London on a job interview for the company she works for. She’s an engineer and will do about anything to get this new position. Spencer Markham is an architect that owns his own company, and the Earl of Ryne. He has to find a bride to break the curse that is haunting his family, literally. Twenty women have been brought to his castle to choose from and Kailyn has been picked by Lady Anne, a ghost of the family, to be his wife. Desdemona is an evil ghost that wants what she feels is hers and will continue to make things tough for all those around her. But, will Kailyn agree to marry Spencer and help to break the curse? Does Spencer even know how to love? This really was a treat to read. This was wonderfully written.
Wanted: Ghostbusting Bride by Margaret Breashears, Donna Helmedag
This is a fun story. At times over the top and silly. Other times it makes me mad. A competition for the chance to be a bride.
Kaitlyn thinks she is in England for a job interview, but she was tricked into coming. Instead of a job they want her to marry Spencer Markham. That is if she can be picked by the ghost. Kaitlyn does not believe in ghosts. She agrees to stay the week because she does want the job working for Spencer.
Spencer was not supposed to inheirit the title and estate. Both his father and brother died. The men in Spencer's family die early. If he can marry the woman his ghosts wants him to marry he can turn his estate around and live longer. But their is another ghost who does not want him to succeed.
A bunch of women are staying on the estate for the chance to win. Spencer believes Kaitlyn is the one Lady Anne wants him to wed. On the other hand Desdemona has a different women picked out. Desdemona is not a happy ghost she killed Lady Anne once.
It is full of action, danger and drama. How do they destroy Desdemona. How can the curse that is on Spencer's family line and the one on Kaitlyn's family be lifted? Plus can they find the missing treasure. Their are a few love scenes in the book towards the end.
This is a nice story. Would be good to read in dark stormy weather. I was given this ebook to read and asked to give honest review of it when I was finshed by Librarything. Published May 1st 2012 by Tell-Tale Publishing Group, LLC

Kooky ghost story. Spencer Markham has a problem. Actually two problems—warring spirits who inhabit his castle and will determine his future. If he marries the right woman, the one chosen by ghostly Lady Anne, he'll have good fortune and a happy life. If he does not choose wisely, Lady Anne's nemesis, Desdemona, will make sure his fortune fails, bad things happen and then he'll die young.
Enter Kailyn Baker who thinks she's on an engineering job interview. Little does she know that her best friend set her up. Unbeknownst to Kailyn, she's really at Spencer's castle to enter into a competition to be his bride. Spencer tries to convince her she's Lady Anne's choice. Since Kailyn doesn't believe in ghosts, she makes a deal. She'll compete, but if she disproves the ghosts' existence, she gets the restoration gig. Lady Anne and Desdemona have other ideas.
The story has an interesting premise. At times, it is funny and a little wacky. Some of the competitors are particularly nasty—either their nature or aided by Desdemona. The pacing was a little slow. I thought Spencer should have just stopped the competition and made his choice instead of letting the trials go on and on and endangering Kailyn as well as himself. The ending is satisfying if somewhat unconventional.
I have to admit up front that had I not been asked to review this book, I probably would have overlooked it completely. I'm not big on ghost stories, but I fell in love with this story right off the bat.
Kailyn is tricked by her best friend to go to Ryne for a job interview with a prestigious architecture firm. Unfortunately, Spencer Markham isn't looking for an architect, he's looking for a bride. One that Lady Anne, one of two ghosts who live in Ryne Castle, approves of for him. Kailyn doesn't believe in ghosts and is determined to prove that Markham is messing around, so she agrees to stay for a week.
The story is a great mix of paranormal and romance with more emphasis on the romance with the paranormal being a secondary feature. I think that if you like romance, even if you don't care for the paranormal, you'll still enjoy this book.

When I first started the story I must confess I wasn't that into it and had doubts about liking Kailyn. Whoever the farther I got into the book the more I liked and Kailyn. I liked the humor of the story and laughed out loud more than once.
This was a very good fast read. I enjoyed it immensely and recommend it.
